#am really starting to wonder if women are even capable of experiencing friendship?#i can think of two totally platonic male friends in my life that i would consider myself âcosmically intertwinedâ with#like honestly i'd almost say the love i feel for those two men is deeper than any love i have ever felt for any girl#and i think it will remain that way until i find my wife#like....those are my bros#they're my brothers in a very real sense#i guess i'm realizing that this shit is a huge pet peeve for me#i think male friendship is a beautiful and sacred thing#and i think it's legitimately fucked how women just dismiss it#and there are so few good representations of it in popular media#we've got what....frodo and sam and achilles and patroclus?#but of course both of those are actually secretly gay too#and i'm being a bit facetious#like i'm sure women have friends#but then why do you have to dismiss/sexualize male friendships?#and like yeah yeah it's just a joke/it's not that deep/let people ship things/etc#sure whatever it's not even necessarily about this particular post#this is about a broader attitude -- one i mostly find in women -- and i know these people act like this about irl male friendships too#i've had it happen to me and a friend irl#and it's one thing if it's just a âshipâ but i know many of these people insist that their âshipâ is actually true/reality#it feels perverse when a group of girls are not-so-secretly spreading a rumor that you and your friend are gay for each other#and i'm a bisexual dude so i don't even have anything against gay sex#and i also have had fwbs so i don't think friendship necessarily precludes the possibility of sex#but when it is just a genuinely purely platonic friendship with no sex/romance#but people insist it is sexual/romantic it feels especially wrong and vile -- and it starts negatively affecting the friendship itself#like honestly that's what happened between me and him and by the time he shipped off to boot camp we were already barely talking#because he was made to feel weird about the closeness of our friendship by stupid girls spreading rumors#so yeah i guess i'm bitter about it

Today has been a long day. You groan as you take a seat on a bench somewhere near the lecture hall you just left and you close your eyes as you lean back against it. You had originally thought your senior year of high school was torturous, but being a senior in college was far worse. Your eyebrows furrow a bit when you feel the weight of the bench shift a bit, meaning someone has taken a seat beside you. Your eyes open a bit and you turn your head to see Sunghoon next to you. A sigh escapes your lips and you turn your head away, closing your eyes again.Â
Sunghoon sits there for a moment, looking at you. Lately, you two havenât hung out as much and although he admittedly forgot to text you for the past week and half, you were still his best friend. He could argue, though, that âthe phone works both waysâ, so youâre not exactly innocent either. Heâs seen you around campus, hanging out with some members of the basketball team, mainly the captain: Sungchan. You didnât seem bothered by the lack of contact between the two of you, either, so it didnât bother him or make him feel guilty that you havenât hung out in just a few days. NoâŚnot at all.
âNice to see you, too.â he mumbles. You stay quiet, honestly close to falling asleep on the bench, especially with the warm breeze that is gently blowing. He narrows his eyes a bit and leans back against the bench. He does the same as you, closing his eyes as he relaxes, but he frowns to himself. âYou and Sungchan seem to be close.â he says, not really even understanding why he brought it up in the first place.Â
This piques your interest. âWhat about him.â you say rather than ask, still keeping your eyes closed.
Sunghoon shrugs, still not really sure why he cares who you hang out with or how often or who they are orâŚanything like that. Maybe it upsets him to think about the fact that you might replace him with someone cooler as your best friend; maybe he was too lame for you. How juvenile, he thought to himself. But thatâs what it felt like, to him, at least. âNothing. Iâve just seen you guys hanging out a lot, thatâs all.â Sunghoon replies.
âHow would you know that; we havenât really hung out or talked lately.â you reply, not meaning to sound snarky, but it most likely came across that way.
Sunghoon scoffs softly. âI have eyes; I can still see who you talk to.â
You open your eyes a bit and turn your head to look at him. âStalker.â you tease.Â
Sunghoon opens his eyes, almost as if he can feel you looking at him and he rolls them, not amused. âAm notâŚIâm just trying to start a conversation or whatever.â
âAbout the people I talk to?â
Sunghoon shrugs. âAbout anythingâŚâ It stays quiet for a moment. âItâs just been a while since weâve talked.â
âAnd whose fault is that?â You ask, rhetorically.
Sunghoon frowns. âWell, Iâve just been busy-â
You scoff, âYeah. I know.â You reply dryly.
âWhat is that supposed to mean?â
âNothing. Just that thatâs what you always say whenever we donât talk to each other for a while. Like, I get it, youâre dating Yujin, big whoop.â
Youâve considered the possibility that he has just been busy with schoolwork, but no matter how many times you would give him the benefit of the doubt, it always ended up being because he was hanging out with Yujin. You werenât really mad, per say, just annoyed. Severely annoyed. But what could you do? Ever since they started dating freshman year, youâve felt like you were on the backburner. Which, again, you canât really be upset about that. Afterall, sheâs his girlfriend, whether you liked it or not. There is nothing wrong with her, you two got along fine, even if you donât really talk or are even friends. You donât hate her, not for any valid reasons, anyway. Still, despite how many people you know, Sunghoon is your only real friend and always has been. But itâs times like these when it feels like he means more to you than you mean to him.
âSheâs my girlfriend.â He says, matter-of-factly.
You roll your eyes at his statement. âI know that,â you retort with annoyance, âyou only ever bring it up every chance you get.â
âYou seriously canât be annoyed that I spend time with my own girlfriend.â He responds with the same tone.
Sometimes, Sunghoon gets caught up in things. Like being with Yujin, for example. Heâll be with her and then it just slips his mind to respond to a text of yours or to ask if you want to do something, he canât help it. He knows that heâs your best friend and heâs certain that youâre his, too. Sure, Yujin means a lot to him, but you mean more, whether he would admit that or not. He just wants to make everything balanced, for everything to work out. But a part of him feels like something has been off since he started dating Yujin. Sure, heâs had other girlfriends, but never one for longer than a few months. This relationship is important to him. What if Yujin is the one? He canât screw it up and heâs afraid to, so he makes sure to spend as much time with her as he can. He thought you would understand, but apparently not.
Youâve met Sunghoonâs other girlfriends, none of which bothered you as much as Yujin. Maybe because this one seems more serious. Maybe because she seems more important to him. The thought makes your stomach curdle. This whole situation makes your stomach curdle. You shouldnât care so much, but you do. You hate that. âWhatever.â you reply, honestly not having thought of anything better to respond with. What were you supposed to say to that? Of course you understood, but that doesnât mean it doesnât suck.
âBesides, like I said, you and Sungchan have been hanging out a lot recently. Donât act like youâve never blown me off to hang out with him.â Sunghoon says.
âBarely.â
âNot barely. A lot. âOh, Sungchan invited me to his basketball game to watchâ, âOh, Sungchan invited me to a party,â âOh, Sungchan wants to hook upâ, âOh, Sungchan this and Sungchan thatâ.â Sunghoon mocks, annoyed.
You frown. âWhy do you care? Youâve got a girlfriend, so just hang out with her instead.â
Sunghoon frowns as well. âThatâs not the point. The point is that you ditch me just the same to hang out with a guy who youâre not even dating. You donât talk to me sometimes when youâre with him or another guy, so why are you so upset that I do the same with Yujin, who Iâm actually dating?â
âStop rubbing in the fact that youâre dating someone. Good for you, who gives a shit? So what if I do the same? Itâs only because you do it first!â you argue back. You grab your backpack and stand up as you put it on. You start walking away from him and he watches you as you leave.
âGreat talk!â he calls out to you in a sarcastic manner.
He didnât mean to make you upset or try to ârub his relationshipâ in your face, he would never try to intentionally make you upset. So, why did he care? He doesnât, itâs as simple as that. Maybe you doing the same thing to him with Sungchan bothered him a little. Maybe you wanting to spend your time instead with someone else youâre not even dating bothered him a little. But itâs not like he actually cared or anything. He knows he canât tell you what to do or who to see, so why does he care? He knows he blew you off, so why didnât he just apologize? Why did he bring up Sungchan in the first place? Sunghoon sits on the bench for a moment, rethinking things. Why was he acting like you were ignoring him when it was kind of the other way around? He sighs and closes his eyes again. Heâll figure it out later.
-
You let out a long yawn as the dim glow from your computer screen shines on your face. Itâs three in the morning, and sure, you have a class tomorrow, but you canât sleep and figure you can just skip your lecture anyway. Even if your brightness was all the way down, it still hurt your eyes every so often, so you would close them to make them feel better while you listened to the show you were watching. You hear your phone ding and your eyes open, your hand reaching for your phone to see the text.
âare you awake?â Sunghoon texts.
He knows you are. You almost always are, which is why he knew you would see the message. Although, he did anticipate the idea of you ignoring him. You were good at things like that, things that required a stubborn attitude. He didnât mind your stubbornness, though. He didnât mind anything when it came to you. He waited a bit, sitting in the darkness with just the light of his phone screen, his thumb gently tapping it so it doesnât automatically turn off as he waits for you to text back.Â
âyeah.â you text back.
It took you a few minutes and in all honesty, you almost didnât respond. But you missed him, which even if he asks directly, you would deny. You wonder if he missed you too, but you shake that thought away.
âstill pissy?â
This makes you laugh a little. Yes, you were, but you still found it a little funny.
âshut up.â you text back.
âwanna hang out?â
You sigh. Now he wants to? It takes you a while to reply with anything as you just stare at his message.
âcan u bring the usual?â you reply.
He smiles at your text. âduhâ he texts back.
You smile a bit, looking forward to actually hanging out with him. The whole argument was dumb anyway and you just wanted your best friend back. And after a while of waiting, you hear a knock on your dorm room door. You get up from your bed and unlock it, opening it as you step outside. He smiles softly when he sees you and you smile a bit back. You both quietly leave your dorm building before going outside and sitting on the curb. He sets the plastic bag he was carrying between you two and opens a bottle of beer before handing it to you. You take it and he opens his own, both of you taking a sip as a cool breeze blows softly.Â
âSorry about earlier,â he says quietly, âand for not talking to you for a week. I just got caught up with Yujin, you know?â
You take another drink, not really interested in discussing this anymore. âItâs fine.â
âI also wasnât trying to rub her and I into your face and make you feel bad or anything, itâs justâŚâ he trails off. Itâs silent for a moment as you both drink. âThis week has been shitty.â he mumbles.
âAmen to that.â you reply. He chuckles softly and you both clink your bottles before smiling and taking another drink.
âHowâs your love life going, anyway?â he asks, genuinely curious.
Sure, there were other things he wanted to talk about, could talk about, but this is what slipped out of his mouth first. He was actually curious, he truly wants to know. He just wants to see you happy.Â
You shrug, âThe same; just hook ups.â
He looks at you for a moment. Thatâs it? Youâve been hooking up with people since the beginning of high school. Sure, youâve dated some guys before, but they were all assholes; Sunghoon never liked them. He couldnât stand them, to put it plainly. You deserve better, and he knows that. But he also knows youâre not into relationships. You like things to be simple and direct. But when it comes to how you feel, he knew you werenât very expressive with that. Only when it comes to getting what you want. He kind of admires that about you.
âSoâŚno one in particular? You just kind ofâŚgo after who you think is the hottest?â
You grin, âSomething like that.â you take a sip, âSoâŚhow are things going with Yujin?â
You honestly hate that you asked. Why would you? Why would you want to hear about that? Surely, things must be going wonderfully if heâs so wrapped up in all that is her. But youâre still friends. Itâs normal to ask these kinds of questions, right? Maybe he wonât really say much anyway and youâll be a good friend for even asking. Thatâs what youâre hoping for, at least.
"Well... things have been kind of weird. She's been acting kinda distant recently; I don't know how else to explain it. She just seems really bored all the time. Like, the sex is good but it just seems like she's not into me anymore or something." he replies.
You give him a weird look as he brings up the topic of sex with Yujin. Gross. Just...Gross.
âDescribing sex with your âgirlfriendâ as good is never a good thing.â you say as you laugh a bit, taking a sip.Â
Sunghoon scoffs a bit. Why did it seem like you were happy to hear that? It irritated him a bit, but he brushed it off. âWell, I didnât mean it like that. Itâs more likeâŚitâs become something thatâs routine.â
âYeah, thatâs probably not a good sign.â
Sunghoon sighs. "I know... it's just so weird though. I mean, we've been together for so long, and she's never been the type to get bored like this. It just sucks. I'm worried if something happened between us that's making her not want to be with me anymore."
You look at him for a moment as he drinks. You hate seeing him upset and you know that Yujin means a lot to him, especially since this is his first big relationship. You frown a bit as you drink. âHave you asked her?â you take another sip, âArenât people in relationships supposed to communicate and shit?â
"Yeah, I asked her and she said everything was fine, but like... I don't know. I just have a feeling that she's not telling me something, and I've tried asking her multiple times, but every time, she always says everything's fine." he takes another drink. âThatâs pretty much what Iâve been spending last week doing, justâŚtrying to fix what may not even be broken.â he mumbles.
You feel bad now for getting upset at him for blowing you off. It makes sense and you just got defensive again, not really knowing what he was doing. You sit there for a moment, not really sure what to say. Sunghoon didnât mind the silence, though. He was trying to focus on Yujin and figure out why things feel this way when maybe, they arenât even that way at all. Maybe itâs him. He isnât sure, but he is sure that he already feels a million times better being with you, even if it is just sitting next to each other on a curb in silence.
âDo you cum?â you ask.
Sunghoon chokes on his beer a little, hitting his chest a bit as he coughs. He looks at you, not expecting your question at all, and as for you, well, you werenât really expecting to ask it. It kind of justâŚcame out. Your initial thought process was to ask more about his feelings on things in the relationship, seeming more like a routine, but it kind of led to you wondering if he even cums. In your defense, you thought that if he doesnât, then maybe the relationship is going downhill. You look at him, as if what you asked was totally normal, taking another sip of your beer. He looks back at you, seeming to have processed what you asked.
â...yeah, pretty much every time.â
âDoes she?â
Again, not something you really want to know, but you do want to help him.
â...sometimes, but most of the time she doesnât.â
You suck air through your teeth, âUh-oh.â
âItâs not a big deal, you know, so what if sometimes we donât? Itâs not about that, itâs just aboutâŚconnecting or whatever.â he mumbles as he takes a sip.
âSo, then what? Do you guys just likeâŚdo it yourself?â
âYeah, so?â
You laugh. You canât help it, itâs just too funny. Not his obvious pain with his relationship kind of going south, but the fact that he finds this to be normal. You at least found that funny.
âWhatâs so funny?â he asks, pissed off, but also slightly embarrassed.
âDude, I'm not a relationship expert, but like...shouldn't people who have sex, I don't know, finish every time? I mean, I have never really had that happen often with any of the guys I hook up with, but hey, what do I know.âÂ
"Well... I guess, but it's not a big deal to me. As long as she enjoys it, that's what's important. And, it's not like it happens all the time. Sometimes she does finish, but it's just... well, not as often as I would hope..." he takes another sip.
You roll your eyes to yourself. Kind of out of instinct. If youâre going to be frank, you donât give a damn about her.
You shrug, âI donât know,â you take another sip, âyou say you donât cum sometimes, how come?â
âI donât knowâŚit just happens?â
You shake your head, âNah, thereâs a reason.â
âBut the reason is dumb and I donât want to talk about this anymore.â he takes another sip.
âDo you think sheâs hot?â
What a stupid question. You wish you didnât ask it. Why would you want to hear him talk about yet again how hot he thinks she is. It makes your blood boil and you would rather bash yourself over the head with your beer bottle than hear him talk about how perfect she is. But, there is a small, small part of you hoping for a certain answer. Only a small part.
âOf course I do.â he replies, simply.
âSo, then, whatâs the problem?â
âSometimes I have a hard time finishing, happy? JesusâŚâ he mumbles as he drinks some more.
You roll your eyes. Youâve known each other your whole lives, you know when heâs lying.
âMmm,â you take another sip, âno, you see, sometimes when I hook up with guys, I suddenly don't feel attracted to them, so then sometimes I don't finish. So do you just like sometimes not like her or something?â
He shakes his head, "No, I'm always attracted to her. But... sometimes I have a hard time finishing, and I don't know why that is."
âWhat do you think about?â you ask, kind of quietly.
A part of you didnât want to ask that, besides, this conversation was becoming weird. But that small, small part of you was so desperately hoping for a certain answer. Fucked up? Yeah, most definitely, but that didnât seem to stop you.
âAbout what?â he asks, actually clueless.
âWhen youâre having sex, what do you think about?â you ask again, taking a sip of your beer.
â...about her, thatâs what youâre supposed to do, so,â he trails off, âSometimes IâŚthink about other things...â he answers, blushing a bit.
âLike what?â
âJustâŚrandom stuff. Why do you want to know anyway?â he asks, getting slightly defensive.
âMaybe that's what's distracting you. I don't know, spice things up with her or something. Or have an actual conversation with her about how you feel or whatever.â you mutter as you finish your beer.
He takes another sip of his beer. âWhy are you acting like some sort of relationship counselor? Youâve never even really been in a relationship yourself.â
Maybe he wanted to piss you off with what he said, but only so you could back off. âSpice things upâ? Yujin and him are fine, heâs deciding that right here, right now. He doesnât want your help with this or to even discuss it anymore with you. It feels weird. Besides, he doesnât want you to think that heâsâŚnot good at sex. Not for any other reasons, just thatâŚhe doesnât want you to think that about him.
You set your bottle down and look at him. âBecause youâre my friend? I donât know. Why do you care?â You hold your hand out, wanting him to hand the cigarettes he brought while your other hand digs into your sweatpants pocket for your lighter.
He reaches into the bag and hands them to you, knowing full well you could have grabbed them yourself, yet he still obliged. âSo, in all of your hooking up, have you ever had feelings for anyone you hooked up with? And not those bullshit feelings for your douchebag exes, like actual feelings. Or have they all just been hookups?â he asks, hoping to change the subject.
You open the pack, âHookups.â
âEvery single one?â
âMhm.â you answer, taking one out and putting it into your mouth, lighting it as you take a drag.
âSo youâve never fallen in love with anyone youâve hooked up with?â
You laugh, âFallen in love? How stupid.â you say as you take another drag.
âOkay, love might be a strong word, but like, have you never developed feelings for any of the people youâve hooked up with?â he asks, finishing his beer.
âNah.â
"Right, right. So, you're just all about hookups then, and that's cool, no shame or anything; I get it. But you've never felt even just a little bit of loneliness from it?" he asks as he sets his bottle down. You ignore his question, taking another drag. He knows by your reaction that heâs said something that bothers you. Whenever anything is mentioned that may reveal how you truly feel, you just block it off and move on. He sighs, not too sure why he bothered asking since you always ignore these types of topics. Sometimes, he wished you wouldnât. He wished you would be more open with him. It feels like he can talk to you about anything and everything, even if sometimes he doesnât want to, but he does anyway because youâŚwell, youâre you. "I mean, it's gotta get kinda boring... always hooking up, never really connecting with anyone. Unless you don't care about that kind of thing."
âLove is stupid.â you reply flatly.
What a groundbreaking opinion. Truly, nobody has ever felt or thought the same thing. Great stuff. Sunghoon sighs at your answer, not really getting why you wonât just tell him. He wants you to. He canât really explain why. It doesnât have to do with wanting to get some satisfaction out of helping you or changing you, but rather, sometimes he feels like he knows nothing about you. Youâre important to him, more than you could possibly understand, but still, sometimes, you seem so distant; like a stranger. He just wants to know that you trust him.
âSo, just because love hasnât exactly worked out in your life, you think love is stupid? I donât really think thatâs fairâŚjust because your ex boyfriends were assholes doesnât mean that true love doesnât exist.â
For some reason, him talking about true love pisses you off. It pisses you off greatly. You can feel your skin crawl and anger boiling up inside you, so you take a drag from your cigarette, blowing out the smoke, wishing it was something else you were getting rid of.
âItâs not about them.â you take another drag, âDo you love Yujin?â
You think you know the answer already. No, you know the answer indefinitely. There is only one answer. Why would he have spent the past threeâalmost four yearsâdating her if he didnât? You think about all the times he talked about her when they first started dating. You try not to, but your mind recalls all the details, how he said them, what he said, how he looked while he was talking. It made you sick.
His heart sinks a little when you ask the question. He stares at you for a moment, not responding to your question right away. He takes a long deep breath before he answers, âYes.â You sit silent. You heard his answer, but you donât want to acknowledge it. You take another drag from your cigarette, a longer one this time, blowing out the smoke slowly as you tap some of the tobacco from the butt of it off. âDo youâŚnot believe me?â he asks, watching you. He can tell something is on your mind, youâre just having trouble saying it. Heâs not asking to be snarky or anything, he asks in more of a gentle tone, just wanting you to open up or at least just say something remotely close to how you feel.
âNo, I do.â you answer quietly. For some reason, it hurts to say that. Itâs true, though; you do believe himâŚunfortunately.
Silence consumes the both of you, just sitting on the curb as time passes. Crickets chirp softly in the distance and the subtle burn of the tobacco from your cigarette fills it a bit, but not enough. He stares at you, both annoyed and concerned.Â
âThen what is it? Are you trying to say thereâs something wrong with my relationship?â he asks, suddenly defensive. Even he, himself, doesnât know why heâs suddenly so defensive about it, especially since he brought up the issue earlier, but he doesnât like thinking that you think there is something wrong.
âJesus, itâs not like that.â you respond, knowing full and well it is like that.
âThen spit it out; what are you trying to say?â
âShut up.â
You take another drag and he rolls his eyes, annoyed. âYou know, youâre so annoying sometimes.â
âSo are you.â
âYeah, I know, but youâre worse.â
You take another drag, genuinely wanting him to shut up, or for things to be normal. Or better yet, for things not to be complicated. âGo cry about it to your girlfriend.â
âScrew you.â
âDitto.â
âWhatever.â he says, pissed off.
âYeah, whatever.â you mumble as you take another drag.
He continues to look at you, pissed off at how you donât seem to care about anything. He used to like that a lot about you, how you never cared about what people thought and are able to brush anything off. Maybe âused toâ is a bit strong, he still likes that about you, but for right now, itâs incredibly infuriating.Â
âYou know, Iâve noticed that you always avoid giving direct answers to questions. Maybe thatâs why youâre so scared of commitment; Not willing to really speak your mind out of fear of hurting someoneâs feelings or your own.â he says, hoping this would piss you off enough to just say how you feel.
You roll your eyes, âShut up.â you say as you continue smoking your cigarette.
âNo, I won't shut up. In fact, I'm gonna keep talking because this is one of the rare occasions where weâre actually having a serious conversation and not just talking about petty stuff.â
You roll your eyes again. âI donât want to.â you reply, simply.
âToo bad. because I am really curious about it. So, Iâm just gonna keep asking questions. Like, have you ever experienced real heartbreak before? Because you seem like the type that just throws people away and moves on with no remorse.â You become quiet. Sure, you werenât answering before, well, barely, anyway. But this time, you feel like youâre shrinking. That type of quiet. The type of quiet you become when you feel like you got caught and you donât want to admit to what you did. You just smoke your cigarette. âAnd you donât just avoid answering questions about your romantic life, either. You do the same thing when it comes to family, friends, and anyone else. You just push people away and never actually let anyone get to know the real you.âÂ
âYou know the real me.â you say, looking at him. In all honesty, you were insulted. He was seriously telling you that he âdoesnât know the real youâ after you guys have been friends since you were two years old? What does that say about your friendship?
âNo, I really donât. All I know about you is the surface layer stuff that youâre willing to share, but I don't actually know you. No one does. Because you never let anyone get close enough.â he says as he looks you directly in the eyes, meaning every word he says. Well, maybe not every word, but it is how he feels. He doesnât want you to get frustrated, but if thatâs what it takes for you to finally say how you feel, then so be it. You do feel yourself getting frustrated and you look away, taking another drag. âAnd donât deny it, âcause you know itâs true. You just push people away and never let yourself be vulnerable, âcause if you did, then they could use that vulnerability against you. And god forbid anybody ever find out about your deepest insecurities-âÂ
âShut the fuck up.â you say, feeling anger seethe out of you. He sits there, somewhat stunned by your response. Not exactly that you became angry, but more so that he actually got a reaction out of you. He watches you as you put your cigarette out and stand up. âIâm going back to my room.â you mutter.Â
He stands up. âSeriously?â he says as he sees you start to walk away. He scoffs. âYouâre just going to leave? Like that? Whatever.â he mumbles as he grabs the pack of cigarettes you put back into the bag (the pack he specifically bought for you and always buys whenever you guys hang out like this). He opens it and grabs one, lighting it as he sees you turn around. You walk back over to him and snatch the pack of cigarettes from his hand. âThe hell?â he asks, annoyed, as he tries to grab it back.
You hold it out of his reach. âYou donât even like red Marlboros.â you say, almost tempted to take the one out of his mouth, too just to spite him.
âGive it back.â he says sternly as he takes a small drag from the one in his mouth, holding it between his fingers as he glares at you.
âNo.â
âItâs my pack of cigarettes.â
âThat you bought for me.â
âAnd I want it back.â
âWell, tough shit, Iâm not giving it back.â
âGive it.â he says as he holds out his hand. You ignore him and turn around, starting to walk away. He takes another drag, grimacing because youâre right, he doesnât like this brand, but heâs only doing this to spite you. He gets even more pissed off just seeing you walk away. âWhy are you always such a pain in the ass?â
âCould ask you the same thing.â you yell back.
He quickly puts out the cigarette and puts the bottles into the bag before catching up to you. âI'm not the one whoâs always being super mean and acting all mysterious about everything. Like, whatâs with all the attitude and snarky comments? Youâve been extra shitty lately.â
âFuck you.â
He scoffs, âYeah, thatâs what I thought. You know, youâre being shitty, you just donât wanna admit it.â
You stop walking and turn to look at him, throwing the pack at him. âThen go away.â
He grits his teeth and grabs the pack from the ground. He looks at you, âWhatever. I'm leaving. But just know, one of these days, youâre going to actually push someone away for good.â
âHopefully itâs you.â you say as you cross your arms.
âYeah, me too. Because I am so fed up with your bullshit.â
âGreat. Go away.â
He rolls his eyes and walks past you, his arm bumping into yours purposefully as he heads back to his dorm.

As Sunghoon makes his way to his lecture, he sees Yujin in the distance talking to some of her friends. He thinks about your conversation last night. He had hopes of confiding in you a bit more about how he felt, but of course thatâs not the way things panned out. He had no time to focus on that, even if he was feeling even worse now that he possibly lost his best friend for good. ShitâŚdid he really lose you for good? He feels his blood run cold, but heâs trying to forget it and focus on her. Sheâs his girlfriend, he has to remember that. He walks up to her, smiling a bit. She looks at him.
âOhâŚhey.â she says softly.
âHeyâŚcan we talk for a minute?â She nods her head and stands still. Sunghoon glances at her friends and then looks back at her. â...in private?â Yujin glances at her friends before following Sunghoon over into the library, taking a seat at a table near one of the back bookshelves, a little bit of space between the two of them. âIs there a reason youâve been acting like this lately? Do you notâŚwant to be with me anymore?â Sunghoon asks, just getting straight to the point.
Yujin is quiet for a moment. âEverything is fine.â she says.
He crosses his arms, feeling himself getting frustrated. Why canât people just be direct like you? Yeah, youâre not really direct with your feelings, but you are when it comes to anything else. âAre you sure? Because you've been really distant. We haven't been talking as often, you barely want to spend time with me... and it feels like you're avoiding being intimate with me, too. I had to almost beg you to spend time with me last week. Is there really nothing? Are you sure everything is fine?â Yujin listens and stays quiet. Sunghoon sighs. "You know, couples are supposed to communicate and shit, right? If something is bothering you, just come out and say it." Sure, he took a page from your book with what you said last night and perhaps some of what you said rang true after all, but heâs not really looking to give you a âyou were rightâ moment at this time.
âYou being friends with her bothers me.â Yujin says as she crosses her arms.
Sunghoon freezes for a moment, taken aback by her response. â...are you being serious?â he asks, not totally sure if sheâs just messing with him.
âYou hang out with her more than me to the point that I had to ask you to stop texting her whenever we would hang out and you always say youâre âjust best friendsâ, but I donât believe you. Do you have feelings for her?â
âDo YOU think I have feelings for her?â Sunghoon asks, becoming defensive while also avoiding answering her question directly.Â
âYes.â she answers, simply.
âWhat, do you think Iâll dump you for her or something?â
"She's a slut. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. I don't care if you guys are close, I'm worried she is going to make a move on you and then you break up with me just for her to use you once and then ruin you; She's bad news." Yujin says.
He feels his jaw drop a bit at what she says. Did she seriously just say that? And so boldly? He feels himself become upset about the way she talks about you. He wants to defend you, he always has, but he frowns. What if this leads to Yujin breaking up with him? You did say last night that you two were done with each other, so why does it matter? He doesnât agree with Yujin, but he wants to save this relationshipâŚ
âYou really think I'm that naive? That I'd fall for a girl like her? Just because weâre close friends doesnât mean I automatically get feelings for her and forget about you. You know I'm smart enough to not get mixed up with someone like her.â he says, feeling like his heart is breaking as he says it. He wants Yujin to feel reassured, but after saying thisâŚit doesnât feel worth it.
âSo you agree.â Yujin says.
Sunghoon sits there, feeling like heâs about to throw up. Why is this so hard? Why canât he just say âyesâ and move on? Why canât he be happy with Yujin? He just nods his head. âI wouldnât fall for someone like her.â he says extremely quietly, almost as if he never wanted those words to leave his mouth. But they did and it was too late.
Yujin smiles, satisfied by his answer. She leans in and kisses his lips quickly, âI believe you.â she says softly.
Sunghoon hesitates, not glad that she believes him. Not glad that she said those things about you. Not glad that he said those things about you. Heâs just not happy. He gives her a small smile and kisses her cheek quickly. âIâm glad.â
-
You are sitting on a bench, scrolling through your phone as you wait for your next lecture to start soon. Sunghoon sees you as he exits his lecture hall and his gaze lingers on you for a moment. He sighs to himself a bit, feeling like he was being pulled in two different directions. The more he thinks about it, he feels as though Yujin was giving him an ultimatum to choose you or her. If she said it outright, there isnât a cell in his body that would hesitate to choose you. He thinks back to his conversation with Yujin in the library and he feels sick; he knows he did something wrong.Â
He walks over to you and takes a seat next to you, just wanting to make up and move on. To his surprise, however, you get up immediately and take your bag before walking away. He sits there, confused, but figures youâre still upset about the argument last night. He gets up and he follows you before catching up and gently grabbing your arm, but you end up taking it away and start walking again. He bites the inside of his cheek before stepping in front of you, âWhy are you walking away from me?â
âGet away from me.â
âNo.â he said as quickly as the words left your mouth.
You look at him, feeling your eyes sting, hot tears wanting to form, but you blink them away. âYou should probably go find your girlfriend, you wouldnât want to be seen hanging out with a slut like me, right?â you ask rhetorically.
âHey-,â he cuts you off, frowning instantly when you call yourself that. âStop itâŚyou know I donât see you that way.â
âThatâs a fucking lie; I heard you talking to Yujin. Or are you surprised about that too since you were in the library and someone like me couldnât possibly be in a place like that.â you say as you cross your arms, swallowing as if that will help mask your clear frustration.
â...what?â he asks quietly, freezing as he realizes what youâre saying.
âI heard you. I heard you agree with her when she called me a slut. I heard you say you "would never be stupid to fall for someone like me". Well, fuck you. Go be with your perfect girlfriend, asshole.â you say before you push past him, swallowing again, but this time to stop yourself from crying.
âWait-â he tries to grab your arm again, but you pull it away and keep walking. He feels his heart sink as he watches you walk away. The world felt as if it just collapsed. He feels like heâs sinking and as he watches you become further from him, he feels like heâs lost everything. Heâs holding his breath, not necessarily realizing he is, almost as if he exhales, heâs not sure he has the strength to take another breath knowing heâs hurt you; he doesnât deserve to.
-
Everything moves in slow motion, all voices muffled, as Sunghoon feels himself being dragged inside of a party by Yujin. He can hear and see her laughing and talking with her friends as they walk inside the loud and crowded atmosphere, but he feels as if heâs hollow. He stands there like a zombie as Yujin talks and greets some of her friends. Heâs not sure how it happened, especially since it was almost midnight and he honestly just wanted to go to sleep, but he somehow ended up here. His eyes felt heavy as they looked around the room, but he subconsciously stood up straighter when his eyes landed on you. It was like he had been resuscitated, his heart beating rapidly as he sees you and then he sees him.
Sunghoon rolls his eyes, noticing how Sungchan was standing closely to you, how his eyes scanned every inch of your body with some stupid, smug smirk on his face. Sunghoon rolled his eyes again and grimaced at the sight. He sees how you whisper something into his ear, Sungchan grinning as he places his hand on your hip. Suddenly, Sunghoonâs heart stopped again as his gaze fixates on his hand. His hand grips Yujinâs tightly as he clenches his jaw and his other hand curls into a fist, his fingernails digging into the palm of his hand. His breathing becomes heavy as he sees you smile, smile in a way heâs never had you smile at him before as your hand caresses Sungchanâs cheek while you clearly flirt back with him. Sunghoon was livid. He feels like an extra in his own life as he watches you fall for someone like that.
âBabyâŚ?â Yujin asks, loosening her hand and taking it away from him since he was practically cutting off her circulation.
âIâm fine.â he mumbles, hints of anger and annoyance clear in his tone. He doesnât look at her as he answers and she catches on.
She looks to where his gaze is and then she looks back at him, upset. âWhy are you looking at her?â she asks as she crosses her arms. âYou told me you donât have feelings for her. Iâm your girlfriend, not her.â
âStop, Yujin, itâs not like thatâŚâ he mumbles, annoyed as he keeps looking at you and Sungchan. He watches as Sungchan puts his arm around your waist and he feels like the air has just been knocked out of him. His tongue pokes the inside of his cheek as he glares at the two of you, wanting nothing more than to shove him off of you.
Yujin scoffs, âI donât even see how you could have feelings for a slut like her.â she mumbles, taking a sip of a drink her friend brought for her. Sunghoon keeps his attention on you. How Sungchan keeps you close, whispers in your ear to make you giggle and you indulge in it, how he touches you, and how he looks at you as if heâs some sick animal that wants to devour you. âDid you even hear me?â Yujin asks, pissed off.
âYeah, I heard you.â Sunghoon mumbles as he continues watching the two of you.
Yujin glares at him and then grabs his hand, dragging him away from her friends. Sunghoon just goes along with it and as Yujin starts dragging him upstairs, Sungchan leas in and kisses you. Sunghoonâs eyes widen as he continues going upstairs with Yujin, her dragging him into an empty bedroom and closes the door behind them. Sunghoon feels like all thoughts had escaped him when he saw that and he stands there with only one thing on his mind: you.
âLetâs have sex.â Yujin says as she looks at him.
Sunghoon snaps out of it and looks at her, feeling like this is his first time seeing her tonight. He looks at her in confusion, not wanting to since he only has you on his mind, but he doesnât want to upset her any further, so he nods his head. Yujin pulls him towards her and kisses him. He hesitates, feeling himself grimace, but he tries to ignore it and kiss her back. He doesnât want to be up here with her, he wants to be down there with you. As they continue to kiss, Yujin begins to undress herself and Sunghoon feels himself tense up. He tries to forget about you and focus on her, thinking maybe helping her undress would help, but it doesnât. Not even a little bit.Â
Yujin moves them over to the bed as she keeps kissing him and he sits there, partially kissing her back and also sitting stiff as a board. He knows this is supposed to be hot for him, having a practically naked girl on him, but he only finds himself wishing it was you. Yujin kisses down his neck as she takes off his shirt and he feels like heâs zoning out, not moving a muscle. Yujin moves her hands along his chest and down his body and then stops kissing him as she looks at him.
âYouâre not even hard.â she says as she frowns. Sunghoon just stares at her, not necessarily surprised, but he still feels bad. "What the hell do you even like about her? She's a fucking whore who opens her legs for any and every guy. She has nothing else to offer besides her fucking pussy, which probably is already stretched beyond repair." Yujin says, angry. "She's nothing! She's not even special and yet she always gets any guy she wants. Well, why does she get you too?" Yujin tears up. "I'M your girlfriend, not her! Do you even love me?" Yujin asks, frustrated.
Sunghoon knows her anger is justified and he feels awful for feeling like he wants her to be you instead. As he watches and hears her say all of these things, he feels bad for treating her like this, but he also becomes angry at listening to what sheâs saying about you. He feels bad for saying it feels like he doesnât know you, because he does, and he knows youâre nothing like who she says you are.
âAnswer me!â Yujin yells.
âI do love you.â Sunghoon says quickly.
â...do you love her?â
He stays quiet. Does he love you? He doesnât know how to answer that. He knows he cares about you more than anyone else, he knows that even when you two fight, he would never want anyone else but you to be by his side, he knows that youâre the only one who gets him, he knows he likes making you smile and laugh and sometimes when you look at him, he feels like he can just look back at you forever. But is that love? Then, what is it he feels for Yujin? Does he love you and not her? How come he never realized it before? Did he always feel this way?
"Why the hell did you even ask me out? Why did you even ask me to be your girlfriend if all this time, you've wanted her? If all this time you've been in love with her?" Yujin asks, furious.
What is he supposed to say? Has he always been in love with you? He thinks for a moment. He thinks about why he asked her out in the first place, about a week after you hooked up with some guy after you two just started college. Was that the reason? Was it because he just wanted something and he knows deep down, you donât want the same, so he found it somewhere else? YouâŚeverything has always been about you, his whole world has always revolved around you.
Yujin gets up and gets dressed. "If you want to be with her so badly, fine. But just know, she's still a whore. She'll just use you and then toss you aside." Yujin says as she finishes getting dressed. "But by all means, go sleep with that slut. We're done." Yujin says as she leaves the room.
Sunghoon sits on the bed in silence. Just great. Now, he doesnât have a girlfriend and worst of all, he still canât have you. He sits there for a moment longer before getting up and putting back on his shirt. Screw this party, he shouldnât have come anyway. He walks out of the bedroom and goes downstairs, feeling like his mind is in a different place as he walks outside. He stops and notices you sitting on the curb, smoking a cigarette. He feels relieved, not seeing you in Sungchanâs arms, and for a split second, he wishes he could just walk over and take you into his, but he pushes that thought away and just decides to take a seat beside you on the curb instead. You scoot away a bit from him, silence looming over the two of you and he feels even worse.Â
âYou shouldnât be sitting here, you know. Your girlfriend might get pissy.â you mumble as you exhale some smoke.
âIâm not with Yujin anymore.â
You pause for a moment, â...I saw you two go upstairs.â
âShe justâŚgot upset that I couldnât get hard. I just had so many thoughts running through my mindâŚâ he trails off, not wanting to ramble on about it.
âWhatever.â you say as you take another drag.
âI wish I never asked her out.â he says before taking a deep breath, feeling like he said something he didnât even realize he was keeping a secret, not even from himself.
âWhy are you telling me this? In case you forgot, I am not your friend anymore. Not after what you and her said about me this morning.â You take another drag, âIt's one thing for her to call me a slut, I don't care about her, but you? You agreed with her. You made fun of me. You're supposed to be my best friend and you say I'm a slut and then that you aren't "stupid" enough to date "someone like me"? Fuck you, honestly. I was so pissed when I heard that. I know we fought the other night, but I never thought you would say that shit about me.â You take another drag. âSo stop talking to me about your problems like we're still friends. You want nothing to do with "someone like me"? Well, then, you got it.â
Sunghoon stays silent, feeling as if everything around him is crumbling. Youâre sitting maybe a foot away from him, but he feels like youâre on the other side of the planet. âIâm sorry.â he says softly, feeling ashamed to have talked about you like that.
You shake your head and continue smoking. âWhatever.â
âI miss you.â he says suddenly. âAnd, I shouldnât have said any of that this morning. I was trying to reassure Yujin at your expense andâŚthat was a big fuck up by me. None of what I said was worth any pain Iâve caused you.â
âWell, I donât miss you. I donât even care.â
Sunghoon stays quiet for a moment. âI have to fix this. Not because I feel like it will make me feel better to know I said sorry, because that doesnât fix anything; that doesnât make you feel better. I want to fix this because, even if you donât believe me, I value our friendship more than anything in the world.â
You scoff and donât reply, blinking away your tears as you continue smoking. âI donât need you. Think what you want about me, I donât give a fuck.â
âHeyâŚâ he says tentatively as he notices you blinking away tears. He feels like he got punched in the gut and hates himself for knowing heâs the one that caused you to feel this way. âI know I hurt youâŚa lot.â he admits. He doesnât know if you would want to listen to anything else he has to say, but he wants nothing more than for everything to go back to normal. To have you back. To just have you look at him. Anything.
You scoff, âYou? As if.â you say as you put out your cigarette. âDonât flatter yourself. Like I care about your opinion.â you say as you stand up. âI donât need your pity and I donât need your friendship. I donât need you.â you say as you walk away and back into the party.
He doesnât hesitate to follow you, not wanting to let you go. He canât. He canât bear the thought of you actually not being a part of his life, not for one goddamn second. He tries to catch up to you, but he stops in his tracks when he sees you go back over to Sungchan. It feels as though time has stopped and he was cursed with having to watch you be with him for the rest of his life. You whisper something to Sungchan, prompting him to grin and put his hands on your waist. Sunghoon feels like heâs about to collapse as he watches Sungchan whisper something back to you before taking your hand and leading you upstairs. He wants to do something, take you away from him, tell you that you mean so much more and are so much more than whatever Sungchan thinks about you. How you mean everything to him and watching you walk upstairs with some other guy feels as though you are taking away every piece of Sunghoon, breaking him apart. But he doesnât and an hour passes before you walk back downstairs with Sungchan, his arm around your waist.
Sungchan whispers something in your ear before letting you go and walking over to his friends, all of them laughing and teasing him. You just walk back out of the party, feeling sick to your stomach; as if you just made the biggest mistake of your life; shame. As you walk down the sidewalk, the night suddenly feels much colder than before. You take out your cigarettes and start smoking another one. Sunghoon follows and catches up, âCan I have one?â he asks, not knowing what else to say, but wanting to say something. You stay quiet, but eventually extend the one you were smoking to him. You stop walking as he takes it, taking a drag as he stands beside you.Â
You hold out your hand, wanting it back and after he takes another inhale from it, he exchanges it back. You take another drag, staying quiet, as you extend it back to him. He takes it as you two share the cigarette and he hands it back to you, almost wanting to just hold your hand instead. You take a long drag, holding the smoke for a while before slowly exhaling. â...you were right.â you say quietly as you hold the cigarette out for him. âIt is lonely.â
He takes the cigarette, feeling hopeful that this is the beginning of an honest conversation, and relieved that youâre opening up. He hands it back to you, âAre you lonely? Do you miss having a relationship?â he asks, softly, wanting to make sure heâs being cautious so he doesnât hurt you again.
âNot the ones I used to be in, no. Those guys wereâŚwell, you know.â
âYeahâŚâ he mumbles. You sigh and take a seat on the curb. He follows suit, seeing if youâll say something else, but deciding to break the silence. âSoâŚwhat kind of guy do you want?â he asks, deep down hoping for a certain answer.Â
You donât answer him and instead, ignore his question. In all honesty, you donât know. Well, you do, but youâre too scared to admit it. âYou were also right about me being a slut.â
âI-I didnât mean it-â
âYou know it, everybody else knows itâŚand I always knew it.â You take your cigarette back and take a drag. âHearing you say it sucked, though, but I know itâs the truth.â
âI shouldnât have said it. I was so caught up in trying to make Yujin feel better and fix things between us when it wasnât worth it. Not when it came at your expense.â
âI know.â
âI shouldâve still stuck up for you. It didnât matter if she was my girlfriend, you donât deserve to be talked about like that.â
You shrug and hand him the cigarette, lighting a new one for yourself to smoke. âI donât care anymore. Hooking up with Sungchan just now made me realize it. Seeing and hearing his friends tease him for itâŚâ you take a long drag, âI knew thatâs what I am.â
He does the same and looks at you. âDid you want to hook up with him?â
âNo.â
âThen, why did you do it?â You ignore his question and keep smoking. âHeyâŚâ he says softly. He knows youâre avoiding his question, but he wants to hear what you have to say.
âWhat happened with you and Yujin tonight?â you ask, wanting to change the subject.
âJustâŚan argument.â
âAboutâŚ?â
âThatâs not important.â
âYou wanted to tell me all about it earlier. You said something about you not getting hard and regretting asking her out. What the hell happened? I thought you loved her or whatever.â you mumble as you inhale more smoke, a part of you hoping it chokes you.
âI do love her. But I guessâŚit meant something different to her. She wanted things from me I couldnât do.â
âLike what.â
âLikeâŚher not wanting us to be friends anymore.â
You scoff before continuing to smoke. âYou shouldâve chosen her.â
Sunghoon raises an eyebrow as he takes a drag. âYou think I shouldn't have chosen my friend who's been with me through thick and thin over someone who was basically controlling who I talked to?â
âShe was just controlling that you don't talk to me. Can't blame her, she probably thought I would try to sleep with you or something. Besides, since when did us being friends for so long suddenly matter? It didn't when you agreed with her about me being a slut.â
âIt matters to me.â He says, feeling his heart sink a little at your words. It seemed like you didnât think your friendship meant anything. He takes another drag and sighs quietly before continuing. âYouâre my best friend. I care about you more than anyone else.â You stay silent as you continue to smoke. âDo you really think I donât care about you?â he asks, softly. You just keep smoking, not really sure how to answer. He sighs to himself as he does the same and his mind wanders to thinking about you and Sungchan again. He rolls his eyes to himself as he tries to push those thoughts out of his head.
âYou asked me if I ever felt heartbreak when we fought that night, talking about if thatâs why I have commitment issues or whatever.â you say as you take another drag. âYeahâŚI have.â
âWas the heartbreak fromâŚâ he letâs the question linger in the air for a moment, âa relationship?â You shake your head. âSoâŚwhat was it from then? Who broke your heart?â
You stay silent for a moment, just smoking â...i didn't realize I fell in love with him until he got a girlfriend, well, his first serious girlfriend. At first, I didn't really care, but thenâŚâ you go quiet for a moment as you keep looking ahead, not at him. âThe way he talked about her, would smile a certain way when he was with her, like he's never smiled at me before...laughing at jokes they shared...seeing him kiss her, hold her handâŚâ you take another drag, âholding her hand..â you repeat, like youâre lost in thought. âIt's something so stupid and simple, but I've never had a guy hold my hand romantically...but he held hers and I remember feeling like I couldn't breathe. I couldn't do a damn thing but suddenly wish I was his girlfriend instead. And then I realized. I loved him.â you take another drag, âI loved him and he was in love with someone else.â
He stayed quiet the whole time you talked. He took in every single word. He took in how you said every single word, how you looked as you spoke. He felt his heart break for you. The way you talked about it was nothing like heâs ever heard you talk about; soâŚinnocent. âDid you ever try to tell him how you felt?â
You stay quiet for a moment as you swallow. âI almost did. One time. I just felt so tired from pretending and I didn't want to just hookup with anyone anymore. I wanted to be his more than anything in the world. I almost told him and thenâŚâ you take another drag from your cigarette. âHe started telling me about how he finally had sex with his girlfriend. How hot she is. How he had never seen anyone so beautiful. How he couldn't believe he was so lucky to be dating her. Fuck-â you pinch your thigh to stop yourself from crying as you take another drag. âI felt so...gross. I had never had a guy say that about me, never had a guy be proud to be with me, but the way he talked about her and everything he was saying...I knew he would laugh in my face if I, just some slut, was in love with him; he would feel grossed out or whatever. No matter how close I thought we were, I knew right then and there I would never be like her. Never like the girl he wanted.â you take another drag, âSo I didn't say anything.â
Sunghoon stayed quiet again, feeling awful. He hated that you thought about yourself that way. He hated that other people had made you feel thatâŚhim included. He hated this guy, especially, for making you feel this way. What a piece of shit. You deserve nothing but the best and this guy pulls this bullshit with you? He was about ready to punch him in the face. âAnd youâre still friends with him? After he did all of this to you?â
âHeâs all Iâve ever had.â
âHeâs not all you have, though. What about me?â he asks, intending to make something positive out of this all. He just wants you to know how precious you are to him because he cares about you so much.Â
This, doesnât help whatsoever, and you feel like youâre about to burst into tears. You canât tell if heâs the idiot or if you are; maybe the latter. But when he says that, you just feel like sobbing, curling up into a ball, and dying right then and there. You pinch your thigh again, to prevent yourself from crying because you absolutely loathe it.
He notices and immediately puts his hand on yours to stop you. He hates seeing you like this and he looks at you, not wanting you to suppress this anymore.
His hand on yours, however, makes you feel even worse. Worse because it makes your stomach do flips and you can feel your heart beat faster. Worse because you know it only carries the connotation of a friend comforting a friendâŚnothing more. You pull your hand away and continue smoking.
He doesnât say anything and he doesnât try to take your hand back. It hurts him to see you pull yourself away. He just wants to make you feel better, feel safe, feel loved. Feel nothing but happiness because thatâs all you deserve. But you donât. He wants to give you everything, and so, he tries again to comfort you. He reaches for your hand, gently taking it into his, it enveloping yours as he holds it as if it is the most delicate thing on earth.
âDonât.â you whisper, taking your hand away.
You didnât want to. God, you didnât want to. His hand felt like silk against yours, but you felt like you didnât deserve it. Compared to his, your hand was like felt, worth far less than his. You didnât want him to hold your hand, not like this. You wanted it to mean something, have some sort of value. Not for comfort. Not because heâs your best friend. Not because he felt bad. But because he loved you. Because he wanted to hold your hand and be proud as he held it. Because he wanted to claim you as is. Because you wanted to be his.
He lets go of your hand and stays silent for a moment. It was as if a part of him died inside as you pulled away your hand. All the thoughts that he was having a few seconds ago were replaced by sadness. His hands tightened into fists from the frustration of being unable to comfort you or take away your sadness. He wanted so desperately to try again, but he knew that there was nothing he could do right now. Slowly, he takes another drag of his cigarette, and you do the same with yours.
âDid you cry whenever he would talk about his girlfriend like that? Did you cry anytime he complimented her?â
You donât answer for a while. âYeah. When he told me he loved her, I cried later. After that, I pretended like I didn't care. And for a while, it worked. I would just hook up with guys and I would still talk and hang out with him because he didn't treat me like what everyone else saw me as. He never did. And that's one of the reasons I fell in love with him, I guess, but then sometimes...he would start talking about her and then I just...felt worse. At some point, I just kind of felt numb about it, especially after he told me about the first time they had sex. He talked about it like it was so special...like she was so special...and I just decided then and there I couldn't love him. So, I just pretended and after a while, I thought I didn't love him anymore, but one night, he started talking about how he couldn't lose his girlfriend, how he wanted to make things with her work and I felt that same feeling again, like I was going to be sick. Then, I heard him say what he really thought about me and that was the last time I cried about him.â
âWhat did he say about you? Did he insult you?â he asks as he feels himself becoming angry, wondering what this jerk couldâve possibly said about you to make you feel this way. But, you donât answer, you just remain quiet and that made him want to punch this guy even more. âDo you miss him?â he asks, quietly.
â...i miss being oblivious to the fact that I love him.â
He feels his heart drop when you say that. You still love him? He swallows, feeling like heâs choking and as if all of the oxygen has been sucked out of the atmosphere. âSoâŚyou do love him. Youâre still in love with him?â Once you ignore him again, the answer is clear. âYou do still love himâŚâ he mumbles. Anger courses through his veins because youâre in love with someone so fucking awful. How could you give all of yourself to someone who is too blind to see how much youâre worth? How much you mean and value you provide to the meaning of life itâs goddamn self? He watches as you continue smoking. âSo, you mean to tell me, after everything heâs done to you, you still love him?â
âHe doesnât know.â
âHe doesnât know youâre in love with him?â
âI told you, I never told him.â
This doesnât help him feel any less bad for you. Some douche was out and about being happy and in love while you suffer on the sidelines? âAre you ever going to tell him?â
You shake your head as you look down. How could you? Especially since youâre delivering this whole pathetic monologue and he still isnât taking any goddamn hint.Â
âIs it because heâs still with his girlfriend?â
âI donât want to talk about this.â you say as you finish your cigarette.
He becomes frustrated, âIs he?â
âNo.â
âSo, they broke up.â You ignore his question once more. He waits a few seconds before speaking up again, âIâm taking that as a âyesâ then.â
âWhy does it matter? Why do you care?â
âWhy do I care?â he asks as if this question has the most obvious answer. He scoffs and takes another drag out of frustration. âBecause Iâm your best friend, dumbass.â
This only makes you frown as you pinch your thigh again to stop the tears threatening to fall. He frowns as well when he sees this and reaches his hand over again. âStop.â he says as he grabs your hand. You look down at your hands and you take yours away again. He feels a lump form in his throat when you pull your hand away as a pit of sadness just keeps growing and growing in his stomach. âWhy are you doing that? âŚdo you honestly think I donât care about you?â You just keep staring ahead of you, not looking at him once. He takes another drag and sighs. âHave I ever given you a reason for you to think that I donât care? Have I hurt you like that guy did?â
His questions make you stay silent for a long time. You wish that you could just disappear. Or that you could go back in time and stop yourself from having these stupid feelings. OrâŚthat you never met him in the first place. Maybe then things would be easier. Better.
âJustâŚanswer me.â he says, pleading, almost. He wants you to understand that he is here for you, he always will be and nothing is going to get in the way of that anymore. He wants this to be clear, so he tries to hold your hand again to show his support, but you take it away once he does.
âAre you pretending or are you actually this clueless?â you ask, becoming frustrated, your voice having a hint of pain in it.
His stomach tightened when you rejected him once more. He doesnât look at you, suddenly afraid to see your expression. He doesnât know what to do, how to make you feel better. He stays silent for a moment and continues smoking. âPretending about what?â he asks. You become increasingly frustrated and pinch your thigh again. He notices and grabs your hand again, âStop.â he says sternly, but you pull your hand away.Â
âJesus, youâre the guy.â
He feels himself freeze. âWhat the hell do you mean âIâm the guyâ?â
âAre you dense?â you raise an eyebrow. âYouâre the guy Iâve been talking about this whole damn time!â
â...iâm the guy?â he asks, completely stunned. You let out a huff of frustration and stand up, walking away. He doesnât hesitate to stand up and go after you. He grabs your arm to stop you. âWait, you canât just leaveâŚâ
You keep pinching your thigh, a part of you believing it will wake you up from this nightmare as you avoid his gaze. You take your arm away from his grip. âJust forget it.â
âNo. You just said Iâm the guy, right? The one youâre in love with?â He asks, all of his focus on you. You ignore his question and turn around, walking away. He groans and he moves in front of you, stopping you. âYou love me?â But you just avoid his gaze and donât answer his question. He sighs, âIâm not letting you leave until you tell me.â
âNo.â
He frowns. âLook at me.â he whispers. âPleaseâŚâ he moves closer to you. âDo you love me?â
âWhy does it matter?â
âYou tell me. Why doesnât it matter?â
You punch your thigh harshly a few times as you finally look at him. Your breath hitches as tears well in your eyes, despite you trying to ignore them. âBecause Iâm just a slut.â
He grabs your hand and stops you. He feels panicked, not knowing what to do or say. He doesnât want you to cry or punish yourself. âStop it. Stop with that bullshit. Youâre not a slut, donât you dare ever call yourself that.â
âYou said it yourself. You agree with everyone else. I know you don't feel the same. I know you'll never talk about me the way you talk about Yujin or see me the way you see her. I know you said you guys broke up, but so what? I know what I am and I know that's all I'll ever be.â
He feels tears prick his own eyes as he listens to you. He shakes his head, âStop that. Stop saying that Iâll never feel the same. Stop saying that youâre just a slut.â
âIt doesnât matter.â
âIt does matter! It matters to me. Youâre not just âsome slutâ. Youâre my best friend.â
You frown as you feel the urge to cry become stronger. You take your hand away and you pinch your thigh again, just wanting the tears to go away. What he said made you feel awful. Itâs not what you wanted to hear. You didnât want to be just thatâŚand he just kept reminding you that thatâs all you are. â...do you honestly think that makes me feel better?â
He frowns, âFine. Maybe it doesnât make you feel better. But it should. Because itâs the fucking truth.â
âAre you even thinking about what I told you? Are you even thinking about how you're the guy I've been talking about? How every time you talked about Yujin, every time I saw you hold her hand, how you talked about her when you told me about the first time you guys had sex, that I just wanted to curl up and die? You don't get it. You calling me your best friend doesn't make me feel any fucking better. It makes me feel worse than when people call me a slut. But I don't want you to stand here and try to make me feel better, because if you think telling me you care about me because I'm your 'best friend' is going to make me feel better, then you haven't listened to a damn thing I've said.â
He stares at you sympathetically. He stares at you as he realizes just how badly heâs broken your heart. As he realizes he broke your heart.Â
âI don't want to be your best friend. I don't want you to tell me I'm your best friend.â You keep pinching your thigh harder, but tears roll down your cheeks anyway. âI wanted it to be me.â you say as you cry even though you keep pinching harder. âI wanted to hold your hand romantically. I wanted you to smile at me the way you did with her. I wanted you to talk about me the way you talked about her.â Your breath hitches as you cry and pinch your thigh harder, your nails digging into your skin. âI wanted to be special to you. I wanted you to tell me you love me. I wanted to be your girlfriend...more than anything in the world.â You cry harder even though you try not to and you dig your nails more into your thigh.
Heâs never seen you cry. Not when you broke your arm, not when your pet goldfish died, not when your first boyfriend broke up with you, not even when you get incredibly frustrated. He has never seen you cry. But he hates it. He doesnât want to see you so sad, so hurt, in so much painâŚand he hated it even more because heâthe one person you loved more than anything elseâwas the one who was making you feel this way. He pulls you into him, hugging you tightly, just wanting to take your pain away, just wanting you toâŚfeel loved. But you push him away and wipe your tears, and he notices the imprints from your nails on your thighs. He doesnât even realize it, but he reaches his hand out and gently touches the marks as he looks at them. He touches the ridges softly and your skin feels so smooth to him, so precious, but you push his hand away. His eyes travel up to meet yours and he sees youâve stopped crying.
âWhy wouldnât you just have told me how you felt?â he asks, quietly.
âFor starters, you had a girlfriend. The other reason: it doesnât matter.â
âWhat if I never got with Yujin? What if I was single the whole time?â
âI didnât realize I loved you until you started dating herâŚâ
âWhy her? Iâve dated other girls before, so why her?â
You shrug, âSheâs the only one you really seemed to be serious aboutâŚthe only one you told you loved. BesidesâŚIâm not some sort of homewrecker.â
âI wish you told me.â he whispers. âYou were never going to tell me?â
âNo.â
âSo, you were just hoping I would never find out?â
âYes.â
âSo, you were just going to keep that secret for the rest of your life?â
âYeah.â
âSo, you were just going to live with that pain forever?â
âAre you going to keep asking the same question?â
âI just want to knowâŚâ he says as if heâs desperate. âWhyâŚwhy would you not tell me?â
âBecause you were with Yujin! Because you kept telling me how much you loved her! How pretty you thought she was, how happy you were to be with her, how smart and kind and funny and fucking perfect you thought she was! You were happy. You were happy with someone who wasn't me and although that killed me, you were happy. I couldn't do that to you.â you say as your voice breaks.
âSo that justified you suffering in silence? Why would you rather see me happy while you were in pain?â
You look at him like the answer was obvious. How does he not get it? You stare at him as you remain quiet, looking at him as if itâs your last time. âBecause I love you.â you say, softly.
He feels like youâre looking at him as if he is the most special person to walk on earth. He swallows out of nervousness as he realizes you gave him your heart completely. âYou love me so much that you were willing to put yourself through hell just to see me be happy?â He doesnât feel worthy of thatâŚbut you seem to think he is. You love him.
âWouldnât you have done the same for Yujin?â
You donât want to hear him answer this. You donât want to know, but you feel like he doesnât understand. You feel like you keep repeating yourself and heâs relishing in it.Â
He doesnât know how to answer. Would he? Hearing how you describe your love for him, he realizes what he felt for Yujin maybe wasnât love. Maybe it was comfort. Or security. Or the fact that someone wanted to be with him so seriously. Maybe he did love her, butâŚnot the way you love him. This sounds like love. This sounds like what he was supposed to feel. âYesâŚâ he says, not really sure if thatâs true. He wants to believe he loves her. He wants to believe he didnât waste almost four years on something that ends up meaning absolutely nothing. He has to love her.
âThen you get it.â
âDid you just hope we would break up one day so you and I would get together?â
You sigh, âYou still don't get it. I know you don't feel the same way. I know I am not the type of girl you want to be with. I'm not the type of girl any guy wants to be with seriously.â
How could you say that about yourself? Sunghoon doesnât believe any of that, not for a single fucking second. âThat isnât true. Youâre smart, kind, funny, and pretty.â
âStop.â
âNo. Itâs true. Everything I just said is true. You think no guy would be able to fall in love with you, but they would. You would make an awesome girlfriend.â he tries to reassure you.
You donât want any guy.
âYouâre not making me feel better.â
âWhat am I supposed to do, then? Agree with the bullshit youâre saying about yourself? Because thatâs not fucking happening.â
âWhat I want you to sayâŚyou canât.â
âTry me. Tell me.â
You just look at him. He doesnât get it. He isnât saying it because he doesnât feel the same. This realization makes you feel like youâre crumpling. You look at him, defeated. If you have to tell him, you know he would only say it to make you feel better, not because he actually wants to. That. Thatâs what hurts the most. He would say it because youâre his best friendâŚbut you donât want to be.
â...are you going to try and get back together with Yujin?â
He pauses. He thinks about it for a second. âRight nowâŚI donât know. I guess a part of me wants to try still. Does that make me shitty?â Heâs not sure why he does. Yujin is the first girl heâs ever told he lovedâŚand he doesnât say it often. Maybe heâs like you, in a way. He doesnât really like saying stuff like that. It felt weird when he said it. But he thinks thatâs just because heâs never said it before.Â
âWhy would I?â
âI feel like an asshole for even considering it after everything youâve told me-â
âSheâs the one you love.â
âIâm not so sure about that.â he says, truthfully. He just needs to think. He just needs one damn second to think.
âThen let me make it clear: be with her. From my perspective, she's the one you want. What I told you, how I so stupidly cried in front of you, that doesn't matter. I told you this earlier: you should've chosen her. So just, make up with her tomorrow or whatever and be with her.â you swallow. â...but I can't be your friend.â
He sees you giving up. He hears it. He hates it. His mind is running a thousand miles per minute, he canât fucking think and itâs pissing him off. âItâs not that easy. I canât just âchooseâ between the two of you. Iâm confused, I justâŚI want to be with whoever makes me happy.â
Heâs always been happy with you. Sure, you two fought, but you always got over it. You make him happy. So goddamn happy. But heâs scared. He just gave nearly four years of his life to YujinâŚwhat if itâs because he does love her?Â
âThatâs her.â
âHow are you so sure itâs not you?â
âI know.â
He groans in frustration. âSo, I have to choose between the two of you?â
You. He chooses you. Heâs not sure about the rest of it, but all he knows is that he chooses you. Four years with Yujin doesnât compare to the years you and him have had together. Nothing else matters. You. Just you.
âJust be with her.â
âWhat if I want to be with you?â
He hasnât thought about it. Maybe he chooses you only as a best friend. What if he doesnât choose you for love? âŚdoes he love you? He recalls the teasing from classmates when you guys were younger, but he's never really given any thought to it possibly becoming real. Does he love you the same way he loves Yujin? Does he even love Yujin? He doesnât knowâŚhe just doesnât know.
âYou donât.â
âAnd what makes you so sure that I choose Yujin over you? What makes you so sure youâre ânot enoughâ for me?â
â...because you wouldâve chosen me first.â
âI can still choose you.â
You sigh, âYou're making this complicated. You know she's the one you love, stop feeling bad for me like I'm some lost puppy and just admit it. I don't want your pity and I certainly don't want you to say you âchoose meâ because you're confusing your pity for feelings. Stop saying I'm this great girl and stop saying any guy would be lucky to have me, that makes me feel worse. So just make up with Yujin and get back with her. Reassure her that you love her because you do and tell her I won't be a problem anymore because you and I aren't anything anymore. Problem solved.â
Is this really what you believed? Is this really what you thought? He just needed some time, he canât think. He doesnât know what to think anymore. You were speaking as if it was impossible for him to love you, but what if he does? How is he supposed to know? How did he know with Yujin? Heâs questioning whether he even loved her since he canât even compare how he feels about you with whatever he felt with her. He just knows itâs stronger. But stronger in what way? He sees how youâre looking at him and he realizes the only way for him to succeed in making you feel betterâwhich is what he truly wantsâis to just listen to you. He doesnât want to. But he wants to see you be happy, even if it means he isnât.
âAre you really sure this is what you want me to do?â he barely asks, the words leaving his mouth without any fervor, as if he never wanted to utter them in the first place. As if he doesnât want to hear your answer; see you walk out of his life.
You donât answer him. You just look at him before walking past him. You hold your breath, knowing that once you exhale, youâre going to start sobbing. You felt so lonely. So lonely. Youâve always had himâŚand then you lost him to YujinâŚand now, youâve lost him for good.
He doesnât turn around to look at you as you walk away, because he knows if he does, he will run after you and that clearly isnât what you want. You want to let him go, at least thatâs how he understands it. He doesnât want that. He wants you. He knows that much, he knows he needs you. Heâs not sure how things will look without you now. He never thought it would be like this, but here he is. âŚwhy does this feel so much worse than when Yujin walked away from him? Why does this hurt more than his actual breakup? The reason is one he doesnât want to admit. He realizes the answer and he refuses to let it grow to fruition. He doesnât know why it took him until now to figure it out, but heâll realize that later. He wanted timeâŚnow, heâs got it.

Deja vu. Thatâs what this all feels like. Here Sunghoon was, again, at another stupid frat party around midnight. Here he was, again, with Yujin. He took your advice, he decided to apologize and get back together with her, and these past few months without you have felt like torture. Even using torture to describe it seems too dull. He has thought about nothing but you. Heâs heard around campus about people youâve hooked up with, but he doesnât feed into it. As he stands here with Yujin at this godforsaken party, all he can feel is regret. He leans against a wall as Yujin talks with her friends and he practically chugs his drink. He doesnât even want to leave the party because he doesn't think it's worth to waste any of his wants on anything but you. You make up all of his desires and he wants nothing more than for you to be back into his life. He finishes the rest of his drink and to his surprise, he does see you. He stands up straighter as he looks at you, but feels like his insides are on fire when he realizes youâre making out with Sungchan. On the couch. On the couch, you are making out with Sungchan. On the couch, Sungchan is running his hands along your hips and waist. On the couch, you let him.Â
You would be lying if you said you didnât miss Sunghoon. A part of you went missing the night you walked away from him. Youâve seen him around campus with Yujin and eventually, it finally felt like you were over it all. Over him. You wouldnât say youâve been getting around quite frequently, but you wonât lie when you say that you did get with some guys to help get over him. It didnât work. But you wonât admit to that. To you, at least, youâre over it. Over him. Sungchan helped a bit with some of the lonely nights, but you two arenât anything serious. Heâs not into that sort of thing and, hey, neither are youâŚso this is fine. He doesnât lie to you about how he feels or what he wants and for that, youâre grateful. Although, you do have to admit, making out with him feels boring. Being with him feels boring. Itâs not fun like it used to beâŚand even then, you arenât completely sure it was even fun in the first place. Whatever, youâll get into it at some point.
Sunghoon watches, now it really feels like deja vu. Is he dreaming? OrâŚis this him getting a second chance? Is this when he can finally pull you away from Sungchan and be there for you? Finally tell you how he feels? How he felt the whole timeâŚ? Suddenly, his spirits are slightly lifted, that is, until Yujin crosses her arms and scoffs before shoving him. Sunghoon is surprised and turns his attention towards her. Some people look at them, but Yujin doesnât care, she just looks at Sunghoon, furious.
âDo you even want me to be your girlfriend?â
Maybe honesty wouldnât be best right now. âI doâŚâ
âThen stop looking at her.â
âLetâsâŚnot make a scene.â he says, trying to calm her down.
âJust be honest for once: do you love me or her?â
He doesnât know how to answer. He knows his answer, heâs had months to figure it out. ButâŚyou made yourself clear. You were done with each other. He sighs. âCan I get a moment to figure it out?â he asks, honestly a bit surprised he didnât just cave and reassure her.
Yujin frowns and scoffs. âLet me ask you this, then. Do you wish that you were making out with her?â
He looks back at you and Sungchan, seeing him whisper something to you and you giggling before he kisses you again. He looks back at Yujin. âYeah.â he swallows, gathering all of his courage. âBut, that soundsâŚawful. Itâs like you want me to admit I regret getting back together with you or something-â
âDo you?â
âYes.â he answers without hesitation. He feels all of his muscles tense up. Did he really just say that? WellâŚitâs the truth, but he never thought he would say it. He feelsâŚbetter.
Yujin quickly squashes that by slapping him, âWeâre done.â she says before storming out, her friends following. Sure, the slap hurt, but as Sunghoon looks back at you and SungchanâŚthe pain from the slap seems so insignificant in comparison.
You decide to tell Sungchan youâre getting a drink, so you get up from the couch and go into the kitchen. You pour yourself a drink and once you do, you walk to the backyard and take a seat on the patio.Â
Sunghoon figures you want to be aloneâŚbut finds himself following you outside anyway. He walks over to you cautiously. You and him have spoken consistently for practically your whole lives, but he finds himself struggling to even say a simple sentence or ask a question. The time youâve spent apart was multiple daysâŚtoo many fucking days in his opinion. He canât stand it. âCan I sit here?â he asks, referencing the spot beside you. You shrug as you take a sip of your drink. He feels relieved, baby steps, right? He takes a seat beside you and thinks for a moment on how to keep the conversation going. âSoâŚwhat were you telling Sungchan?â âŚhas he lost the ability to socialize or something because why was this the question he asks? He bites his bottom lip a bit in frustration at himself.
âSpying on me?â you tease as you extend your cup, offering him some.
Sunghoon chuckles softly and shakes his head. Hearing your voice for the first time in months makes him remember just how much heâs missed you. He feels like everything in his life is restored and he smiles a bit. âYou guys were all over each other on the couch, is it really weird for me to wonder?â
You shrug, âI mean, just typical flirting and dirty talk or whatever. Why?â
He feels his breath catch in his throat. âDirty talkâ?...what the fuck? âUmâŚno reasonâŚI guess I was justâŚcurious or something.â he mumbles.
âAre you here with Yujin?â you ask as you take another sip of your drink.
He shakes his head. âWell, not anymore. She broke up with me soâŚIâm alone now.â he realizes how that mightâve come off. âAlone here nowâŚnotâŚme alone altogetherâŚor anything.â he cringes and looks away from you, feeling completely stupid.Â
âWhat? Why did she break up with you?â
âSheâŚsaw meâŚlooking at you and SungchanâŚso she broke up with me.â he says, not really wanting to say the other stuff from the argument. You laugh in response and he frowns. âDonât laugh.â
You nudge his shoulder, âItâs okay. If she broke up with you for that dumb of a reason, her loss.â You say as you take another sip.
He smiles slightly. It feels like old times. It feels like he has you back. It feels like you want him back. âYeah, youâre probably right. Itâs probably best I donât have her constantly being suspicious about me and you.â
âEspecially since we havenât talked in months.â
He feels caught off guard by your blunt statement. Sure, itâs trueâŚbut it sounds like you didnât miss him. âYeahâŚwe havenât talked in a while.â You just take another sip of your drink and he looks back at you. âIâve missed you.â He waited for you to say something back, but you didnât. âIâve umâŚmissed talking to you like before. Like, beforeâŚeverything got complicated and stuff-â
âI know what you meant.â
He nods his head a bit, everything now feeling awkward. âSoâŚwhat have you been up to? Anything interesting happen?â
âNope.â
âReally? Nothing? Nothing at all?â
âYupâ you say as you take another drink.
âSoâŚfor the past few months, youâve done absolutely nothing interesting?â he asks, his tone being more lighthearted and joking to try and diffuse the tension.
âNo offense, but Iâm not really looking to âcatch upâ with you.â
Sunghoon feels his heart stop for a moment, but he tries to play it off. âOkay, ouch.â he laughs nervously, âSo youâre not even remotely interested in talking with me?â
You shrug, âI dunno. These past few months without you, Iâve kinda just been doing my own thing, I guess.â
Your response left him feeling worthless. Like, he didnât even mean a single thing to you before. Which, he knows isnât trueâŚbut you sound like you mean it. âSo, you havenât missed me at all? Not even talking to me?â
âAt first, yeah. But donât worry, Iâm not in love with you anymore.â
â...youâre notâŚin love with me anymoreâŚ?â he asks as he feels his blood run cold. You just shake your head and continue drinking from your cup. His heart sinks immediately. He feels small; insignificant. His mind jumps back to Sungchan and he frowns. âAre you in love with him now?â
âHim?â
âSungchan.â
âEh,â you shrug, âweâre not dating, just casual, I guess.â
âSo, youâre not exclusive with him?â
âNo.â
âAnd youâre okay with that?â
âYeah.â
He feels himself growing jealous and frustrated. How could you give yourself to someone who doesnât love you? Sunghoon feels upset, realizing he unintentionally did the same thing, but still, not to this extent. He knows you. He knows you donât want thisâŚhopefully. But he sure as hell knows that you donât deserve this.Â
âThatâs ridiculous. How can you be committed to this?â
âIâm not committed.â
He groans, âThatâsâŚnot what I meant. What do you two even get out of this?â
You shrug, âWhy do you care? I get youâre a relationship guy even though youâve only been serious with one girl, but donât shit on me and what I choose to do.â
The way you spoke got under his skin. âI care because I happen to care about the people around me. In case you havenât noticed, I care about you.â But you just roll your eyes. âDonât roll your eyes. Iâm being serious. Why do you feel like this isnât worth talking about?â
âBecause we arenât friends. We arenât anything. I donât need your input.â
It feels like youâve slapped him in the face, and this time, it fucking stings. âWhat do you mean we arenât friends? We grew up together, how the hell are we not friends?â
âAre you stupid?â
âAm I stupid?â he asks, offended and frustrated. He was starting to lose his patience. âNo. Iâm not. I still consider you as my friend. We grew up together, went to the same schools, hung out every damn day, how is none of that relevant?â
âWe havenât spoken in months.â
âSo what?â he asks, feeling as though your friendship suddenly means less than nothing to you, somehow.
âI told you that night that I wasnât going to be your friend anymore.â
He freezes. He knows. He also knows you donât just say shit without it meaning anything. He knows you arenât friends anymore, but he doesnât want that. He doesnât want you to be nothing to each other. He thought that if, maybe, he admitted he still sees you as his friend, you would admit the same. But you donât. And now he feels that same empty feeling. âSoâŚyouâre just fine with letting us go without a second thought?â
You look at him, âDo you not remember anything from that night? Of course if fucking hurt; I was in love with you.â
âSo it does matter.â
You sigh, âIt doesnât matter anymore; that was a long time ago.â you say as you take another sip.
He looks at you for a moment, feeling like his heart has become a punching bag and you were just taking any hit you could. Was this really the same person he grew up with? That he⌠âHow could it not matter anymore? We used to mean the world to each otherâŚhow can that justâŚbeâŚover?â
You look at him, âBecause I had to get over you.â
âItâs not that easy. I spent everyday thinking about you. Everyday.â
âWhy?â
âBecause I love you!â He thought your question was so redundant, he honestly didnât even realize what he said at first.Â
âButâŚâ you sit there, stunned. He finally said what you wanted him to say for so long, even if it was with a frustrated tone, stillâŚit counted. âWhat about Yujin?â
âSheâŚshe doesnât matter. You do. She always suspected I was in love with you-â
âWell, this is news to me.â
He deadpans. âAre you being fucking serious? I get I never said it before, butâŚâ he pauses; he sees what you mean. âOkayâŚbutâŚyou never once thought it was possible that I love you?â
âNo. Because that night when I told you that I was in love with you, you just kept saying I was your best friend. Youâre so full of it.â
âIâm not full of it! I justâŚfor fucks sake, I just didnât know. I thoughtâŚI donât know, I thought maybe for you it was just passing, or something, I donât know what I thought I justâŚI donât know.â
âRight. So as I stood there, crying my eyes out as I told you how much I loved you, you thought it was one sided.â you say as you roll your eyes.
âIâŚâ he feels like he did that night, like he canât think. âI just didnât know, maybe something was holding me back, I donât know.â
âI know why.â
He looks at you, relieved, thankful that you understand what he means. âYou do?â
âOf course you didnât want to admit to that. How embarrassing for you to have a crush on one of the schoolâs biggest sluts.â
He frowns. âThatâs not what I mean. You honestly think itâs embarrassing for me to like you?â
âExactly. And you knew that. I donât blame you, no guy wants their girlfriend to be a whore.â You take another sip of your drink and you look at him. âLook, Iâm not mad. I got over it and I honestly donât care anymore. I know what I am and I know that until we graduate, thatâs all Iâll probably be. But it doesnât matter. Yujin breaking up with you not too long ago was dumb, youâre a really great guy, but youâll find someone else.â You take another sip, âI should probably head back in and find Sungchan.â
He felt anger wash over him. Not because you donât believe him about being in love with you. Not because you were going to Sungchan. But because of the fact that you believe the things you say about yourself. Youâre so special, so goddamn special, and Sunghoon is so scared as he realizes he may be too late.
âAnd what if I donât want to find someone else? What if I donât want anyone else but you?â
You look at him for a moment. âDo you remember how you would talk about Yujin with me? You may not remember everything you said, but I remember it all and I remember how you looked as you said it. You talked about her like she was the most special and most beautiful girl in the world. You had this smile that you only had with herâŚâ you pause for a moment, âYou may say you have feelings for meâŚbut they're not like the ones you had for her, and thatâs okay. I donât want you to feel bad because you deserve to be happy, but you also deserve to find another girl that makes you talk and feel that same wayâŚand I know thatâs not me.â
Youâre so wrong. Youâre so fucking wrong and it was pissing him off. He wishes he just figured this out earlier. He wishes that he asked you out instead. He wishes that he told you he loves you that night. He wishes he kissed you. He wishes he held you and didnât let go. He swallows, âYou remember everything I said?â he asks, slightly surprised to hear that. Honestly, he doesnât even remember what he said. Not anymore.
âOf course I doâŚI wanted nothing more than for it to be me.â you say quietly as you take a sip and sigh. âBut like I said, water under the bridge.â
He feels tears begin to form. âWhy did we have to grow apart? Why didnât you just talk to me? Just one damn word. Something. I didnât want to lose you.â
âI canât be your friend.â
âWhy not?â
You look at him for a long moment, just staying quiet. â...Iâm only going to say this onceâŚbut if I stayed your friend, I would just keep hurting myselfâŚI would still love you.â
He stays quiet for a while. Even the loud music and chatter from the people inside seemed to drown out as he looked at you; youâre all that matters; youâre all that deserves his attention. â...did it hurt when we would talk everyday?â
You sigh softly and shake your head. âNot until you started dating Yujin. Before that, everything was fine. But once she happenedâŚit hurt like hell.â
âWhy didnât you tell me?â
âI told you. I couldnât do that to you, you were happy.â
âI would have wanted to know. I would have wanted to be there for youâŚâ
You laugh a little, âNo, thatâs weird.â You shake your head and still laugh a little, âItâs fine, Iâm over it.âÂ
âItâs not weird. Itâs not okay for you to act like everything is fine.â he says, softly.
âWhy are you trying to rehash this? Thereâs no point. Or do you like to hear about how I used to love you and it gives you some sort of ego boost or something?â you ask, not wanting to dive back into thisâŚnot again. He shakes his head, but he sighs. What is the point? You arenât believing him and youâve said it yourselfâŚyouâre over him. You stand up and his eyes follow you, âIâm gonna go find Sungchan. Later.â you say, not really meaning the âlaterâ part, but nonetheless, you walk away and all he can do is watch you leaveâŚagain.
He heads back into the party, wanting to find solace in getting batshit drunk or something, but he continues to torture himself by watching you dance with Sungchan. His eyes only focus on you, sure, heâs jealous and pissed off that youâre with Sungchan, but he only sees you. Sees how you move and he finds himself wishing you were dancing with him.Â
Sungchan pulls you closer, just whispering sweet nothings in your ear and you feel his hands grab your ass. You giggle a little and try to enjoy your time with him as he starts kissing your neck. You laugh softly as you dance with him and, unfortunately for Sunghoon, heâs bearing witness to it all. His hand practically crushes his red solo cup as fury ignites within him when he watches what Sungchan is doing. That should be him. Not that he would be soâŚvulgar with his actions, but it should still be him instead. He sees Sungchan whisper something to you as he takes your hand and starts taking you upstairs.Â
As he watched the two of you making your way upstairs, his whole body shook and trembled in rage. Every step that the two of you took together enraged him. He hated the way you casually held his hand and how he casually walked you up the stairs. He hated how he acted as if he had every right to touch you like that. He hated the fact that you were both so comfortable with one another at this point. He hated the fact that he was leading you away to his roomâŚ
You were so focused on following Sungchan, you were surprised to feel a tug on your other hand once you reached the top of the stairs. Both Sungchan and you stop and you turn to see Sunghoon holding your other hand.Â
Sunghoon felt at ease, like he was grounded when he felt your hand in his. This made him more confident as he tugged you towards him, wanting you away from Sungchan. This pisses Sungchan off and he scoffs as he looks at Sunghoon.Â
âThe hell?â Sungchan says, not in the mood for any games. He tugs the hand he was holding, pulling you back towards him, but you find yourself only focused on Sunghoon as your heart starts to beat faster.
Sunghoon pulls you back towards him, his grip on your hand tightening. âBack off.â he says as he glares at Sungchan.Â
âYou back off.â Sungchan says as he tugs you back towards him.
Sunghoon realized that you were just being tugged around, so he stopped, but he kept holding your hand. âLet go of her.â
âYou let go of her.â He looks at you, âWho the hell is this guy?â Sungchan asks, annoyed.
âSomeone who actually loves her instead of using her.â
You look at Sunghoon, surprised to hear him say that. Sure, he said he loved you earlierâŚbut this time when he said it, he said it like it was what he meant to say; what he wanted to say.
Sungchan laughs. âYou love her?â
Sunghoon glares at him. âYes. I love her. Now back off.â
Sungchan scoffs and puts his arm around you. âTell you what, bud, you can have her when Iâm done.â Sungchan winks as he pulls you towards him.
Sunghoon feels enraged. This asshole was acting so entitled, acting like he won this argument when Sunghoon knew damn well he wasnât giving up. The fact that he had the nerve to call him âbudâ too made Sunghoon want to throw him down the flight of fucking stairs. How he treated you was disgusting, talking about you like that in front of you. Sunghoon tugged you towards him one last time and Sungchan rolled his eyes.Â
âWhatever.â Sungchan looks at you, âYou know where my room is.â he says as he winks at you before walking away.
Sunghoon grimaces as Sungchan leaves, but feels better once heâs gone. The whole time, you were just looking at Sunghoon and you feel as though your heart is beating out of your chest as he holds your hand. After what he said. After all of this. He meets your gaze and he looks at you in a much more gentle manner.Â
âYou deserve so much moreâŚâ he whispers, his breath lightly brushing along your face since youâre so close together. âIâm sorry. Iâm so fucking sorry-â
âStop.â
âNo.â he says as he lets go of your hand and uses it instead to gently cup your face. âI wasnât lying. You are all Iâve thought about for these past few months and youâre all I can ever think about. Iâve missed you every single damn second of the day and Iâm sorry I was too scared to say it all before. I love you. And all this time, Iâve just thought about what you mean to me and the answer is everything; you mean everything to me. ...that seems like such a vague thing to say now that I say it out loud.â he chuckles softly, âBut everything means nothing if youâre not with me. Eating, sleeping, breathing, blinking, are all pointless if I canât spend one goddamn second with you. Iâm not embarrassed of you and I only realized that night when you left that Iâve always been in love with you. Always. What I felt with Yujin is all meaningless when I compare it to how I feel about you. I love you. It was never her. Not for even a millisecond. You asked me if I would put myself through pain just to see her happy and I told you yes. I lied. I thought that was what I would do, but I realized I actually did that with you. I let you walk away because thatâs what you wanted. I didnât want that, god-â he takes a sharp inhale as he rests his forehead on yours, âItâs always been youâŚand Iâm so sorry I never said it until now. Iâm so sorry I put you through all of that shit. Iâm so sorry, but pleaseâŚâ he whispers as he looks into your eyes, all of his focus only on you. âI love you.â
You feel your breath hitch slightly and you feel so tempted just to kiss him, but you hold yourself back. You smile a little bit and pull away slightly, feeling relieved. â...I need to smoke. You want one?â you ask as you take his hand, going into an empty bedroom.Â
He closes the door behind the two of you as you walk over and sit on the bed, opening the window beside it. He sits beside you as you take out your pack and he smiles a bit. âYeah, I do.â he says as you hand him one. He watches as you light yours and then you light his for him. You both sit silently for a moment as you smoke, it being a comfortable silence until he speaks. âThank you.â he says, mainly for lighting his cigarette, but he does want it to apply to you not leaving him again.
âI forgive you.â you say after a moment.
âYou do?â he asks as he takes a drag and looks at you.
âYeah.â you say as you take another drag yourself. âBut youâve got to get better at saying how you feel.â you tease.
He scoffs playfully and nudges your arm. âSays you.â he mumbles as he continues to smoke.
You laugh softly and shrug. âWeâll work on it.â you say before exhaling your smoke and he nods his head a bit as you both look out of the window for a moment. You glance at him and inhale from your cigarette before gently pulling him towards you. He turns his head to look at you and you kiss him gently, shotgunning the smoke slowly into his mouth.
His eyes widen a bit as his heart beats rapidly. He closes his eyes as he inhales, letting the smoke slowly fill his lungs while he leans forward to kiss you back, indulging in the feeling of your lips on his even if it wasnât an actual kiss. After blowing out the smoke, you break the kiss and watch as he exhales the smoke. He does it slowly, feeling as though his lips are tingling, begging to meet yours again. He smirks a bit after he exhales all of the smoke and looks at you. âDamnâŚthat was good.â he whispers as he blushes a bit.
You grin, taking another drag, âIâve missed you.â
He takes a drag as well as smiles softly. âIâve missed you, too.â It goes quiet, but this time, a comfortable silence as you two smoke. He blows some smoke out of the window and looks back at you. âDo you thinkâŚwe could give this another shot?â
You follow suit and blow some smoke out of the window before looking at him. âOur friendship orâŚsomething more this time?â
âSomething more. Both, hopefully.â he smirks a bit as he says this, taking another drag.
You smirk a little back and chuckle softly, âI really want that.â
âSo do I.â he whispers as his eyes lock onto yours. He smiles softly, âWeâre going to be official.â
He reaches for your hand and carefully interlaces his fingers with yours. You take another drag as you smile shyly. âGoodâŚâ you say, softly.
Your fingers seem to fit with his perfectly; everything about you is perfect and it was things like this that make him realize it all the more. You hold hands as you smoke silently, both feeling a fluttering excitement in your stomachs as your relationship dynamic shifts to one that you both have been longing for before you even realized it yourselves. He glances at you as he exhales some smoke.
âGood? WowâŚI was expecting some more passion out of that.â he teases, gently squeezing your hand.
You laugh before finishing your cigarette and putting it out. You turn your body a bit to face him, âWhat aboutâŚfucking incredible?â
He laughs loudly at your new choice of phrasing. He calms down after a moment, âThatâs more like it.â he says with a grin before smoking his cigarette again. His gaze lingers on you as he watches you smile at his reaction. Stunning. He leans in, letting go of your hand, placing his left hand beside you on the bed as his lips meet yours, kissing you.Â
You donât waste a single second, kissing him back immediately as your hand makes its way to the back of his head, your fingers threading with his hair as you push yourself slightly forward, pressing your lips against his more. He inhales sharply as he moves his left arm around your waist, pulling you closer, desperately. He puts out his cigarette and discards it, using his other arm to wrap around you as well as he pulls you onto his lap. You part your legs, straddling his lap as you grin a bit into the kiss, both of your hands using their fingers to gently tug on the ends of his soft hair. You feel yourself fill with excitement, the fact that this is really happening after every inch of your body has desired this exact moment makes you feel restless.Â
Sunghoon runs his hands up and down your thighs, squeezing them gently, before moving them up to your hips, and then your waist. His hands suddenly felt so big against your skin, his fingers sending shivers throughout your whole body anywhere they touch. He opens his mouth slightly more and you take this as a sign to slip your tongue into it. He grins, this time, and he pulls you closer to him by gripping your waist; your bodies now pressed tightly against each other. He moves his hands to cup your face and you move yours to rest against his chest, your fingers tightly gripping his shirt in an attempt to somehow kiss him deeper. His tongue glides across yours as he kisses you with increasing desperation. The need for you grows every second that passes, he has to kiss every inch of you, he has to make you his, he has to make you feel loved; the only thoughts devouring his mind at this very moment consisted of nothing but you and his need to ensure you only ever want him.Â
The kiss becomes sloppy, both of your lips becoming covered in one another, and you feel yourself craving more. So much more. You bite his bottom lip a little, testing to see if this will make him decide to take initiative, resulting in him gasping softly and releasing a low moan. He liked it. He liked it a lot. He moves his hands back to your waist, pushing you down against his lap and his jaw loosens a bit as he loses his breath, feeling you finally press against his erection. You moan softly, enjoying the feeling of some sort of contact where you desperately needed it the most and it felt so good knowing he wanted you just as much as you wanted him. He couldnât take it anymore, he had to have you.Â
One of his hands grips your thigh and his other arm goes back to wrapping around your waist as he picks you up a bit and lays you back against the bed, not once breaking the kiss; at this point, kissing you has become his oxygen supply. Feeling your hands on him is the only thing keeping him alive. His lips part from yours only to kiss along your jaw, just below your ear, and down to your neck. You gasp softly and your eyelids flutter closed as you relish in the feeling of his soft lips kissing your skin. He takes one of his hands and uses it to move some of your hair out of the way, placing it on the back of your head, pulling your hair softly to move your head back so he has more room to work with on your neck. You let out a soft moan, feeling him leave open mouthed kisses on every single inch of your skin, him making sure he doesnât miss a single spot.Â
He opens his eyes a bit and looks at you, to see how heâs making you feel. He watches as your lips part slightly as you take in small gasps of air, as if he leaves you utterly breathless; youâve never looked more beautiful. He watches to see what spot of your neck when he kisses it that you seem to like the most. Once he gets to a certain spot and watches you bite your bottom lip a bit, he smirks slightly against your skin and sucks gently on the area. His tongue laps the spot a bit as he sucks and nibbles on it; this was his spot now. You moan softly and you feel your breath slightly catch in your throat as he leaves a hickey. He leaves a few soft pecks on the spot a little after heâs left his mark and he smiles a bit to himself.Â
You feel the warmth of his body pull away from yours and your eyes open as you look at him. The moon shined a bit through the window, the light falling beautifully on him as he looked at you with a slightly flushed face. He looked back at you, seeing you laying on this bed, all for him, he felt like he was going crazy. He sits on his knees between your legs as his hands run along your thighs; he just keeps looking at you, admiring all of you. You lay there, looking at him, feeling your body become hot as he looks at you through hooded eyes, as if you leave him in a trance. Your breathing picks up in speed as he runs his hands painfully slow along your thighs and as much as you want to pull him back towards you, you feel as though youâre frozen.Â
He takes a slow, deep breath, as his left hand travels up to gently take your right hand. He holds it up softly, separating your fingers with his as he loosely holds your hand, his gaze now focusing on your hands. He raises your hand up and leans in, raising it to his mouth. He softly plants his lips on your fingertips, kissing them softly, up to your knuckles, trailing his lips to the back of your hand, then gently turning it to kiss along the palm of your hand. He closes his eyes as he kisses down your arm--slowly--and gently lays your arm back at your side as he kisses up to your shoulder. His hands move to the hem of your short dress, slowly sliding it up, you raising your hips to help him, and he stops, leaving it bunched around your waist as he goes back to kissing along your shoulder. He gently pushes the strap of your dress down your shoulder as he focuses on kissing your body, moving along your collarbone. He breathes deeply, pushing the other strap out of the way as he leaves open mouthed kisses on your left shoulder, down your arm, his hands gently holding it up as he kisses up to your wrist. You watch him, feeling as if your body is constantly shivering, still dressed (albeit, your dress is pushed up), yet feeling completely exposed. His hand envelopes over your left hand as he kisses your palm like he cherishes your entire being, the way he looks is as if heâs wanted to do this his whole life.Â
He kisses your fingers, knuckles, and fingertips, opening his eyes slowly as he lets go of your arm gently. He moves his hands back to your waist, pulling your dress up more and you sit up, realizing your body is shaking, and he kisses your forehead before pulling your dress off carefully, like heâs afraid if he does it too fast, youâll break. He lets the dress fall to the ground, the fabric hitting the hard wood floor just as softly as he lets it go. Itâs as if the room is silent, no muffled music from downstairs, no rolling of tires from the occasional cars passing on the streets, no soft wind hitting the curtains, nothing except the quiet breaths escaping from his and your lips. He feels his erection become even more painfully hard as he looks at you, and he swallows, honestly trying not to let out a moan just at the sight of you. His breath stifles a little as he places his hand on the small of your back, steadying you as he leans back in, kissing the top of your chest. He feels himself growing more desperate, desperate to feel every inch of your skin on his lips, on his fingertips.Â
He breathes in sharply as he presses his face more into your chest, his lips sloppily kissing along your chest as his need for you grows. His tongue trails along your skin and he shudders, his hands becoming shaky as he holds your waist, all his focus practically on making out with your chest. A low moan elicits from him and from the way he was kissing your chest with such desperation made you moan softly in response, one of your bra straps falling a little off your shoulder from his movements. Itâs as if he senses it and just decides to unclasp your bra, still trying to let it slide off of you slowly and hold himself back, but once he sees you take it off, your bare chest exposed, he feels himself get so close to cumming in his pants. He gently lays you back on the bed, wasting no time, however, to wrap his lips around one of your nipples. Your breath hitches and you moan as he releases his desperation. Kissing, sucking, and fondling your breasts, small whimpers coming from him as he feels elated to finally be doing this. Spit covers your chest almost instantly as he licks and sucks, kneading your breasts, moaning as the soft flesh squeezes and molds beneath his hands. And itâs only until he feels his breathing becoming quick, his dick aching in his pants, is when he stops. He pulls away slightly, his hair slightly covering his eyes as he stares at them, his trembling fingers squeezing and spreading his spit along them, his thumbs pressing and circling your nipples, and you feel as if ripples just went throughout your entire body.
You gently push his hair away from his face and he goes back to kissing along your stomach, down to your panties. You can feel momentarily the thin layer of sweat covering his forehead when you push his hair away, running your fingers through his locks and he whines softly against your skin, his hands gripping your sides and finally moving to the edge of your panties. You wait in anticipation, expecting him to take them off, so you raise your hips slightly, but he pulls away. You poutâonly slightlyâas you look at him with a confused expression. He smiles sweetly, as if heâs not the one that caused you to quite literally soak through your panties. Heâs noticed, god, heâs noticed, but it takes everything in him not to behave like some animal. So, with that, he moves his hands down to your feet, slowly taking off your shoes for you before setting them on the ground. He moves back a little, leaning down to kiss along your leg, stopping at your knee, before moving to do the same thing to the other leg, but this time, he kisses up your thigh, leaving open mouthed kisses on the inner part of your thigh, gently nipping at your skin, and up to your hip. He gazes at you through his eyelashes as he moves to kiss along the other thigh, closing his eyes as he moans deeply against your skin, his tongue running along your skin.
He takes in a shaky, deep breath, and you feel your whole body become stiff once you feel his warm breath scatter so deliciously on your core. He gently places his hand over your sopping panties and your breath hitches, your whole body feeling grateful for some sort of contact. His brows furrowed as he slowly rubs his middle finger along your clothed slit, a low groan escaping his lips as he feels even more of your wetness seep through the fabric as he pushes into it. His mind feels hazy; he has to taste you. He takes his hand away, licking his middle finger and he feels as if his whole body exploded. He moans quietly to himself, before gripping your thighs and sticking his tongue out, licking a slow, long stripe between your clothed folds to your clit. Your eyes roll back as you gasp and moan. His fingers dig into the skin of your thighs as he feels himself lose all sense of sanity. He wanted nothing more than to take his time, but fuck, he canât do it anymore.Â
His lips instantly latch around your clothed clit, sucking and lapping his tongue as he starts to subconsciously rut his hips against the mattress. His saliva soaks your panties entirely as he presses his tongue more firmly, causing you to moan louder, gasping, as your hand makes its way to his hair, your fingers tangling in it. He moans and pulls away only a little before diving back in, pushing your panties to the side with his face as he makes out between your folds. His jaw is working overtime, his tongue lapping and picking up as much of you as you can give, His nose bumps against your clit as he loses himself in your taste, eating you out like a madman. He groans and moans into you, his hip movements stuttering as he licks all the way back up to your clit, moving his right hand off of your thigh before pushing his middle and ring finger into you, making sure to rub them between your folds before he does. He sucks and licks your clit, moaning and whimpering as he pushes his fingers in and out of you, not stopping until his knuckles prevent him.Â
You moan his name, gripping his hair, pushing his face against your clit more as your legs shake and you cum, moaning his name. He whimpers and the way you taste sends him over the edge as he feels himself cum in his pants, his jaw falling slack a bit, and he pulls his fingers out, desperate to lick them clean. You let go of his hair, trying to catch your breath and he sits up, his face slick and covered in you, and he tugs your panties off. You look at him, watching as he undresses himself and you feel your body become light as he reveals more and more of himself to you. His bare chest, his abs, god, his biceps, you were about ready to start touching yourself at the sight, desperate for him, but you managed to stay put.Â
He feels his ego boost a little bit, watching how you look at him, examining his body as if he is some work of art. Heâs going to give you everything he knows you deserve and that thought alone makes him smirk. You notice as he takes off his underwear the wet patch from his prior release, making you grin a bit. He finally lets his cock out, it still being painfully hard despite him having cummed already, and you gaze at it. You feel yourself clench around nothing, wanting him so desperately to fill you up and he sees it. He smiles innocently, as if you both arenât completely naked and horny before he grabs a cigarette and lights it. He takes a drag as he spreads the precum spilling from his tip all along his length and you watch his every movement, honestly feeling your mouth water at the sight. You sit up and he motions his head to the window as the cigarette sits between his lips.Â
You turn and face the window, propping your forearms against the windowsill as you look outside, the cool breeze honestly feeling nice against your flushed, hot skin. You feel his presence shift behind you as he takes another drag. He sighs softly, looking at yourself propped like this, he places his free hand on your hip, lining himself up with you. He moves that hand and gently brushes your hair softly to the side, exposing your back entirely, and you turn your head a bit to look back at him. He exhales some smoke and meets your gaze, gently brushing his fingers along your cheek.Â
âRelaxâŚâ he says before leaning to whisper in your ear, âand donât be afraid to let the neighborhood know my name.â he says before kissing your cheek.Â
You feel your body shudder at his words and he holds the cigarette between his lips as he uses one hand to hold your hip, the other gripping his cock before he slides it up and down, teasingly, between your folds. You gasp softly and he smirks, pushing his tip against your clit and he hisses a little, more precum leaking from his tip. He guides his cock into you, needing to quickly grab his cigarette from his mouth due to his jaw falling slack as he bottoms out into you. Your fingers grip the edge of the windowsill, your jaw dropping as you feel him finally giving you what you want. You moan and become breathless. He takes another drag from his cigarette before moving his hand from your hip to your shoulder as he pulls his hips away and then thrusts himself back into you entirely.
He filled you up perfectly, and he was damn ready to cum just from the way it felt like you perfectly fit around him. So warm and so fucking wet. He thrusts in and out of you a few times, groaning as you moan, sounds of you coating his cock more and more each time he goes in and out of you. He takes a shaky inhale from his cigarette, his eyes rolling back a bit as he thrusts a bit faster, before taking the cigarette out of his mouth, gripping the back of your head, a handful of your hair between his fingers, as he pulls you up and turns your head towards him. You moan and whine looking at him as he kisses you, shotgunning you this time as he keeps a steady pace of thrusting into you. You felt like you were going to choke, but you inhale what he exhales and as he pulls away, you turn back and lean your forearms against the windowsill as you blow out the smoke, gasping afterwards and moaning his name.
âGood girl,â he groans and puts the cigarette out, putting both of his hands on your hips, thrusting faster. âSuch a good girl.âÂ
You moan at his praise and breathe quickly as all you can do is let out strings of long moans as you feel his cock press into you over and over, him somehow hitting every area that makes your knees weak and mind hazy. His fingers dig into your skin as his hips rapidly pound and slap against your ass, the sound of skin slapping becoming louder and louder. You moan his name loudly, and as a reward, he pushes further, you feeling his tip brush against your cervix and you gasp, moaning his name lewdly. He grunts, the way you just moaned his name almost made him cum automatically.Â
âLouder, sweetheart, come on.â
You gasp for air as he fucks you so goddamn good, and you try to arch your lower back a bit so he can go deeper. You moan his name as many times as he wants, whatever it takes for him to rut in and out of you faster, to which he obliged. His breathing becomes heavy and your legs shake as you throw your head back a bit, your jaw dropping as you let out a long moan, cum spreading all over his cock. He grunts and whimpers, wrapping his arms around your waist as his brows knit together, him leaning down and kissing your shoulder as he pumps you full of cum, a low moan coming from him and onto your shoulder. He moans your name softly as he lets out a few more shallow thrusts, making sure he gives you every last drop. You feel yourself shiver as the warm liquid pushes into you and you whine a little.Â
After a moment of him holding you close and staying inside of you, he kisses your shoulder softly again before pulling out and pulling away. He lays back onto the bed and you shudder as you feel his and your cum spilling out of you and trailing slowly down your inner thigh. He opens his arms a bit and you go to him, letting out a sigh as you rest your head on his chest and feeling content when his arms wrap around you. His hand slowly moves up and down your back before he kisses the top of your head. Itâs silent for a while as you both lay there.
âSoâŚweâre a thing now?â you ask, partly joking, but part of you was seriously asking.
He looks down at you and scoffs playfully. âAfter all of this, you still donât get it?â he chuckles softly. âI want nobody but you.â

Part 3 for the fitclet I did for @keferon 's mecha pilot jazz au! (ďžâăŽâ)ďž*:シďžâ§
For those who missed it:
Part 1 || Part 2
This is probably the longest out of all the 3 parts, dear god, I went all in. It came out bigger than I ever expected it to be. I was not expecting it to go this far honestly, but the parasites in me, they begged for more. So here we are! :D
Again tho, idk how in character they will be here, but I tried my best ďźź(*Tâ˝T*)ďź. Also, kinda bullshitted my way through in worldbuilding bc idk how things work exactly- and I had to come up with stuff on my own, even tho I'm not that good in mecha world stuff, so I'm sorry for any inaccuracies ^^;;
Now, to give credit to those who so desperately deserve it:
My sister @saltynsassy31 for helping me when I couldn't write out some of my ideas and doing it herself (so consider this as a bit of a frankenstein monster of both our writing styles, mainly during intense scenes. If there is any fancy words in this, it's cuz of her) and being my beta reader for this part. Seriously yall, this wouldn't have been as coherent and well written without her help!
Also huge thanks to my online sister @yayadrawsthingz for helping out when I hit a few road blocks during this!
And finally, a huge huge thanks to my honorary online uncle @hexyz09 for helping me finish off the final fight scene when I got stuck during some plot holes and road blocks, or generally just writing myself into a corner and having to help me leave it, despite not knowing jackshit about the au, let alone the ship and characters themselves, but was still willing to help me through in working on the plot, in this crazy obsession of mine XD
Yall have no idea how much help these guys were. Probably wouldn't be able to finish without either of their help áŚ(òĎĂłË)á¤
Oh and an honourable shoutout to the song "Headlock" by Imogen Heap! Kept listening to this on loop as it kept my drive up to write this.
Now onto the fic!
---
Prowl ignored Jazz's various attemps to push out his servo from the cockpit. Despite the mech being weak himself, the human was still no match against thousands of pounds of metal, especially in his own weakened state.
Which was a matter of its own at the moment. Prowl knew he had very little time to be able to run ahead before the other humans caught on to them, having noticed the alarm bells ringing through the facility.
So he ran towards the exit Jazz had initially pointed out, the only plan they had at the moment.
...
"Prowl! Prowler, hey! I know you can hear me! Prowl!" Jazz shouted as he slammed yet another fist in a failed attempt to nudge the bot's servo out of the way. He hasn't said a word since picking Jazz up, and he wasn't sure how long that was, maybe not that much, but it felt too long yet too little at the same time (what a headache).
Sliding down, he gently hit his forehead over the protective servo and let out a sigh of defeat. No way he could get him to move like this.
Why was he trying to anyways? Didn't he want to be with Prowl? He certainly did, but somehow, something in him made him feel like he shouldn't just be accepting this.
And maybe Prowl also knew this, which is why he took off and hasnât said a word since. Both held conflicted feelings about the whole thing. If only things didn't feel so blurry right now!
Suddenly, a hard shift made Jazz stumble a bit, grasping at whatever he could so he didn't fall back, loud noises of metal scrapping metal could be heard as something got kicked open on the outside. Jazz scrambled over to the small crevice that opened between Prowl's digits, not enough for him to fit anything over other than his hand, but enough to get a glimpse of what was happening outside.
Prowl had kicked down the exit door to the lab ('not like he had the hands available to properly open the damn thing anyways' Jazz thought to himself). It was meant for mechas to exit the room after they finish off whatever it is they do in here, that Jazz knew, and if he was right, just down the hall there will be another exit leading to the backroom where they stockpiled the mech suits. No one but the technicians were usually supposed be there, it would be an easy fight to get to the big gate that lead to the outside training grounds, which is why Jazz had pointed for the mech to go down there in the first place.
There shouldn't have been a problem besides giving him time to leave unscathed. Which Jazz assumed would not be the case as he was currently inside Prowl and not buying him time to escape. But, to Jazz's surprise, nothing had come close to attacking them, yet.
The pilot did not have much time to contemplate it as suddenly he heard Prowl rumble an annoyed grunt.
"Don't move."
In shock, Jazz stumbled back as Prowl removed his hand and reached for the end of the overhead gate, seemingly alot harder to kick down than a two way door. The only thing it would really do would be to bend the metal a bit but it wouldn't give an open entrance. Jazz didn't dare leave, not like he could from this hight, but even if he could, Prowl would probably just pick him up again; it be a waste of energy really (just admit it, you don't want to leave him). But something about this felt wrong, so far they haven't had a single guard come down the hall, just this small pause would give them enough time to catch up to the two runaways, Jazz was sure that guards had been on his tail when he was under his rampage.
Unless...
Wait.
"Prowl! Wait don't open that gate!" But he was too late, the moment he uttered those words the mech had already been in motion and pushed the gate up with all his might and as quickly as he opened it a gun shot came through the otherside. They had been waiting for them, they knew where they were heading. The bastard he kicked down prior to this probably saw them and reported it, dammit.
Prowl let out a strangled cry of pain as the shot landed right on his left shoulder (like it wasn't damaged enough by the lack of arm), Jazz fell backwards with the harsh motions, hitting the back of the pilot's seat, the impact leaving his vision to go dark for a few seconds before he collected himself as quickly as he could. In an instant though, just as he tried to get back up to see what was outside, Prowl had put his hand back over the open cockpit.
No...he wouldn't be able to fight like this, protecting him as he is would only hinder the bot to more damage. And that's exactly what Jazz intended to express to the other. "Prowl! You won't be able to fight with your hand over me! Forget about holding me inside, I won't leave, I promise!"
"That's not the point!" Prowl growled, letting out another hiss of pain as more shots were loaded, someone shouting out for them to stand down.
Prowl couldn't risk leaving Jazz exposed. Unlike the human, Prowl could take a few shots, their weapons not being strong enough to inflict any serious damage to his plating (though perhaps a bit to his exposed protoform, though he could handle it for a little while longer). But it would take one lucky shot on Jazz to have him dead in an instant, and Prowl couldn't take that chance.
It seemed like Jazz got the message, not spitting back any sort of remark about Prowl's lack of explanation.
But the mech couldn't linger too much on those thoughts, he had to get out, and fast. He was losing too much energon, and his vision was starting to get blurry, which wasn't a good sign. It didn't help that his thoughts were a hazy mess, his usual ability to think logically overthrown by the panic of needing to get out of this place while ensuring Jazz's survival.
It's not like he had much to do, though. Any possible escape hindered by the fact he couldn't use his weapons unless he risks Jazz's life to one lucky shot. Perhaps he could make a run for it, knock through the mechas in front of him and let them tumble over as he reached the final exit; it wasnât the best plan perhaps, with at least a 19% rate of success, given he isn't in the best physical state at the moment, he probably wouldn't be strong enough to knock them over. Added to the fact the exit wasn't shut by a gate he could simply knock over easily either, like the previous one. He'd have to push it open from the bottom, and there wasnât enough time for him to act on it.
But he'd have his back turned to the shots, reassuring Jazz's own safety, so he could perhaps risk removing his servo to push the gate open once more.
With a quick warning from his HUD telling him his energon levels were getting dangerously low, Prowl decided to take the risk, with little time left, he took a step forward making a run for it.
The mechas seemed to ready themselves for his attack, quickly positioning their weapons to target him, closing any narrow space they had between each other.
What they didn't expect was for the mech to charge his whole body weight onto them. Despite not feeling any pain, they certainly could not fight against gravity itself. They all stumbled against each other as Prowl made a mad dash to the gate. He slid on his knees and made a quick reach for the bottom of the gate, anxiously removing his hand from over the cockpit, bending over protectively as to not have anything be able to aim inside.
He could feel his spark beating fast from anxiety, they were so close, they'll be able to leave soon enough. Jazz was most certainly having a good feel to Prowl's anxious beat, the loud thruming reaching the bot's own audials was most certainly deafening to the human sitting near it.
Then, a shot.
A pop.
A blinding light.
And the beat stops.
Jazz was curling in on himself as an instinct to protect himself from the sudden burst behind him. It only took a few seconds for him to realise what that was once he couldn't hear a single beat of a spark, or the burning sensation it left, feeling his own heart stop and drop to his gut.
It felt like the world around him suddenly stopped, everything going into slow motion, with no sounds to accompany the dread. Feeling as Prowl's body leaned foward to crash on the ground.
But just as quickly as the silance came, it left. Prowl catching himself from hitting the ground with a grunt, a slam could be heard as his arm and elbow made contact with the concrete floor. His spark beating, weakly, but beating nonetheless. What felt like hours of silance was only a quick few seconds of deafening dread.
"Prowl!" Jazz called out in desperation, reaching out to hold the edges of the cockpit, so not to fall out, but to also try and comfort his anxiousness as he tried to look up at the mech's face. The mech made a sound of acknowledgement, which came out more like broken static, but didn't make much effort to move, his face scrunched up in pain, optics shut. They shot him on his back, too close to where his spark would be, causing him to skip a beat, and busting a bit of his left doorwing, but it still seemed to function somewhat.
Suddenly, both of them picked up on the sound of something opening, giving no time for either to fully process what had just occurred. Prowl made a quick move to get his hand over the cockpit once more (with slight struggle as he stumbled and fell on his aft) as a thick metal slab emerged from above and beneath, right in front of the gate, shutting it close with a protective layer of metal. Guessing by the red alarm ringing around them, an emergency protocol to keep anyone from leaving. Slag.
The mechas surrounded them, guns all aimed to shoot at the alien mech if he didn't comply.
It was silent for a brief moment, in exception to Prowl's anxious beating spark (which wasn't a problem for Jazz at the moment, the burning warmth being somewhat comforting) and Jazz's own heart beating over his ears. Both catching their breaths.
"There's no point in fighting. So make this easy for all of us and surrender yourselves." A nobody pilot finally spoke out, weapon leaning a tad closer than the others.
The atmosphere felt heavy, they were pinned down. Really, the only thing they could do was surrender, but Jazz would sure as hell be reprimanded for his actions and Prowl.....he didnât want to think about that. No, he wouldn't even allow that thought to become any sort of reality.
"Prowl" he whispered, knowing only the mech would hear him, leaning a gentle souch to his servo as if to beg, "I know you might not have alot of trust 'n me, but this might be our best shot." There was a tense shift, not too noticeble unless you could see the mechanisms from the inside, Prowl knew what he was about to suggest. "You need to let me pilot you." He cringed as he felt the other's servo stiffen, he wasn't pleased with the idea, and neither was Jazz, but he knew this place alot better than Prowl did, and knew how to properly defeat the mechas, knowing their weak spots. And Prowl was all too aware of that too, Jazz knew it. They both were very aware of it all.
"Please," he begged, leaning his forehead on the mech's servo yet again, "I can't lose you again." There was slight shift, Jazz looked up, though he obviously couldn't see the mech's face, the sigh he let out was loud and clear. The controls on the pilot's seat shifted, Jazz got the message:
'Alright'
He couldn't help but let a small smirk creep over his face, making way to sit down and start piloting.
"Under one condition though," Prowl suddenly whispered to him, though it was alot louder to Jazz on the inside.
"And what would that be, partner?" The title flew out too fast for Jazz to stop himself, feeling so natural to call Prowl partner once more. The mech didn't seem against it though.
"No removing my hand."
Jazz was left stunned for a quick second, though it felt like a minute for Prowl as he waited for a reply eagerly.
"I can work with that." Prowl let out a sigh of relief at that, allowing the human, his partner, to take control of him again.
It took a moment for Jazz to adjust himself, in the meantime, the people waited outside anxiously for the other to make a move. When Prowl finally started to shift around to stand up with a small grunt, everyone raised their guns and loaded them up, but didn't shoot just yet. The mech looked up at them with a deadly glare, but made no move to attack, his remaining arm not leaving the open cockpit for a second, he simply stood up with a slight slump to his posture, doorwings drooping down slightly. In all possible ways, he looked weak and defeated, no signs of fighting back.
One of the mechas walked closer, gun still aiming at Prowl, but it was lowered slightly. They reached a hand out expectantly.
"The pilot, hand him over." They demanded, no sympathy whatsoever.
Prowl clutched his chasis, anger pooling over in his spark, doorwings twitching up slightly, but he made no move to attack. Not yet. He heard Jazz speak to him in a low tone so only he could hear it, with a sigh, he relaxed. He slowly, very slowly, drew out his hand from the cockpit, the action in itself having the other mecha have their body relax slightly as they approached the mech, weapon being put down slightly enough, and so did the others around them. Jackpot.
Before he fully removed his servo, the mech made move to crouch down and in a swift motion swung a peed over to the mechas own, catching them off balance and knocking them down. Jazz let out a small hiss to the action, forgetting his own injured leg, but pushed on regardless.
Using the thrusters of his doorwings, they were able to balance themselves back up, Prowl's servo going back into fully protecting it's pilot once more. With most weapons being aimed up and not down, it took a delayed second to aim correctly, but it was enough time for the human and cybertronian duo to twist themselves out of harms way.
Before the fallen pilot could attempt to get up, Jazz made move to aim over the weak spot of their mecha's knee and stepped hard enough to break its mechanisms so they couldn't stand back up easily. But the glory was short lived as more shots were fired their way.
Jazz's hand twitched to move and use its weapons, but he resisted the urge with a slight huff, "Man, 's hard to fight without an arm!"
"This is none negotiable, Jazz." Prowl hissed as they made move to avoid more shots.
"I know, I know! Don't mean it makes it easier!" Jazz tried to analyse their surroundings, though it was made difficult with the many HUD warnings from all the injuries (the pilot couldn't help but mutter a broken "I'm so sorry" to his partner, whether the mech heard him or not he wasn't sure), but pushing through it, he took note of a few key details. There was a metal catwalk grate near above the mechas' heads, running with a few on ground troops, the bastard of a boss being one of the few amongst them. Near a corner stood an elevator to go up and down the area.
How that could help, Jazz wasn't sure yet.
A shot hit Prowl's arm, pain flowed through the mech as he moved out of the way once more. Jazz looked around in a frenzy to find a place to shield themselves....the mechas! Making a run for to the lifeless husks, he swivelled around between them and hid behind the many rows of mechas knowing full well that they would not risk such precious resource and money just to reach them. At least he hoped not, because he just needed a little bit of time to figure something out.
Hearing the big man call out to hold their fire was good enough indication that his idea worked.
"Ok, now we just need somethin' to distract them long enough for us to make a jump to the ceiling." Jazz explained
"The ceiling?" Prowl inquired, not so certain about his partner's ability to properly think at the moment.
Jazz rolled his eyes, but didn't make mention of the mech's tone. "It's the weakest point here, plus" he made way for Prowl to look up to where he remembered the area to be at, "there's a trap door for flying mechas and emergencies. One quick press of a button will open it up, even under "safety protocols."" Prowl let out a hum in thought, seeming to analyse the situation.
"Possible, but where is this said button?"
"Behind the elevator, by the catwalk grating on top. There's a control panel, and one big red button, can't miss it."
"Would smashing it still get it to work?"
"Yes."
"Then I don't have any complaints."
"Good, now," Jazz went back to scanning the area, "how to cause a distraction?"
"Would that broken pipe be of any use?" Prowl made an effort to twitch his head over to the direction of what he wanted Jazz to see. And just as the mech stated, there, by the first floor of the elevator, stood a broken pipe, steam coming out of it.
Jazz smirked "it would actually. If we can get somethin' to shoot at it, we might cause an explosion, giving us time to jump up without being the target anymore."
"Sounds like a plan." Prowl shrugged.
"Don't have anything to add?" Jazz asked a bit surprised.
"No, I don't." The pilot didn't push.
"Okay. Well, let's get these bastards shootin." In quick motion, they made way to the elevator, already hearing the commands to shoot fire, 'but watch for the machines!' Weapons were loaded from above as well, shooting down at the two runaways once again.
Jazz made sure to move swiftly behind the mechas, making sure they were shielded properly. Any gaps they had to cross was a small risk they needed to take, scrapes and scratches being left in its wake, but tried not to do it too often, just enough that they could follow them. They eventually reached where the pipes were, Jazz took a deep breath.
"Ready, big guy?"
"Ready."
They stepped foward, making sure to call the attention towards where they were, but quickly retrieting back behind the mechas suits as they shot directly where they wanted to hit. "Bingo."
Quickly, activating Prowl's thrusters, they leaped over to the metal grates that stood above them as the pipes behind them burst, causing a huge commotion as empty mechas fell down and whatever machine near the crossfire tumbled down. Prowl let out a gasp as he felt the world around him spin, the grating beneath them not being of any help as it shook with his weight. Jazz was quick to hold on, helping the mech stablise himself before aiming with his left foot to kick the big red button with their ticket out of here, the motion causing his vision to flash in pain, but he bit his toung until he could taste iron and pushed forward.
Hearing the metal door above them open up, Jazz readied himself, but hesitated with the warning he'd received from Prowl's HUD from his low energon levels. He didnât even get the chance to fully check on it though, Prowl quickly pushing them out of the way himself.
"I'll live, just one more push." The mech hastily reassured the human. Jazz wasn't inclined to belive it though, feeling the other's spark beat anxiously (and for some reason that made him feel slightly dizzy. Though he chalked it up to it being his possible concussion).
It took one shot to slip an inch away from Prowl's face for them to finally snap out of it and jump. One more push from his thrusters as they flew up through the trap door and landed on top of the roof with a grunt, the mech's left wing finally giving out.
But they werenât in the clear yet. Looking out, a wasteland of a forest awaited them, with dense trees at the bottom.
"We'll have to make a jump for it. If we're lucky enough the trees will be big enough to hide us." Jazz supplied.
"45% of that happening. But we don't have much of another option at the moment." Prowl added
With all that being said, Jazz moved into action. With so much at stake, he had to, he couldn't waste another second in debating. Hefting Prowl up, he used all remaining strength to jump where they needed to go, but as the training grounds began to get closer than anticipated, Prowl knew they didnât make the jump and that made the mech almost freeze.
Though Jazz had other plans, because as their impending flat doom approached in rapid speed, Prowl's remaining thruster burst to life and gave that final impusle they needed to reach the slope. They both braced themselves as they were thrown up and over to their intended destination, Prowl having half a mind to tighten his hold over his chest so none of the debris and impact could reach the fragile human still in his care.
They rolled down the slope, Prowl just barely being able to shift himself so that he was sliding on his back instead. The aggresive motion of going down a not so smooth path causing bigger cuts and slashes against his already damaged frame. But the only thing he could think of at the moment was that they made it.
Jazz was quick to let go of his control over Prowl, who in turn made an effort to sit properly. Though the sudden slamming to his servo made him look down worriedly, moving it slightly to see Jazz leaning on it desperately.
"Prowl-" he heaved, "Prowl put me down I'm feeling sick."
The mech panicked and quickly made move to help the human down, gently placing him on the grass below. Jazz made no effort in being graceful as he hurled over and puked his guts out, luckily avoiding Prowl in all of this.
Clutching his stomach in pain, his heaving and coughs agitating the injuries on his abdomen. Everything around him felt blurry and muffled as his body made sure to get everything he had eaten in the past day out of him.
What made him panic was the sudden taste of iron in his mouth as he coughed up whatever he had left inside. That's not good. And that definitely didn't escape the giant mech's notice, who kept a hovering servo near him.
"Jazz! Is that blood?!" His voice sounded so broken, static lacing over his words.
"Uh- Yeah. Yeah it is." He wasn't sure how to deny that really, and he felt too light-headed to try. But his attention diverted to the sudden pink glow that landed at the side of his vision.
Energon.
Quickly looking up, he finally got a glance at his partner's battered condition. Energon leaked from many different parts of his body, but the main source being from his missing arm. Jazz couldn't help but cringe at that.
But what hurt him the most to see was the weak light from the mech's optics, which still held visible concern on them. Despite being close to going into offline, he still looked at Jazz as if he's about the crumble into dust and leave him. Which he honestly, maybe, felt like. But seeing Prowl's optics flicker as they fought to stay online, Jazz panicked
"What 'bout you?!" He called back, catching the bot off guard. "You're losing too much energon! You look like you're about to go offline!"
Prowl cringed a little, not having anything to counter that. "Well that's because I-"
"No! I'm only a little bit dizzy, but I'll live. We need to patch you up right now!"
"I can help with that."
The new voice catches the duo off guard, Prowl immediately reaching out to Jazz, hand shielding the human from whoever that might be. Jazz looked down from where he was looking at Prowl and turned to see who it was that the voice came from.
There standing in front of them was a human carrying a simple tool box and a huge backpack strapped over one shoulder, filled with questionable things.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE, a little something I would like to point out for the fic, that some of yall with either like or not, during the process of writing this, I've seen a few posts keferon made about the spark being radioactive and such, and it sorta made me think a bit while developing Jazz's condition. So well, take Jazz's health in this as you will with this info :)
But anyways, yippie!! That's all for today folks! I hope yall enjoyed this one bc I definitely had a heck of a time writing this one XD
It got alot bigger than I anticipated and took much longer to finish than I originally planned (was supposed to be done 2 days ago).
Now, I know I keep saying "not sure if I'll make another part to this" but then proceed to do so anyways. But I mainly do so because everytime I shared it someone said something that added to the story somehow and gave me ideas to continue foward.
So like, if yall liked this and wanna see more, don't be shy to suggest/add anything to this as it may help inspire me to add more onto this, cuz honestly idk what the fuck I'm doing rn, I'm just going with the flow á( á )á
Also, a bit of note for the doodle, holy shit I did not expect it to look this good!! Tho I suffered with Jazz's suit, plz ignore any inaccuracies tee-hee. Prowl's knee and hands were hell too, especially his knee, but i could like, hide most of it lmao. Actually mainly struggled to not have his hand cover Jazz too much bc it kept covering the parts I actually wanted to show off lmao.
Oh and the guy at the end? Yall can take a good guess as to who it is :)
But since he doesn't have any official design, I kinda went with whatever felt right lol.
I also really wanted to draw out more scenes to add to the fic, but then it would take me a lot more time to actually post the fic as I figure out how to draw robots :'). But maybe I can try and doodle them out another time if I can, no promises tho-
#mecha pilot jazz au#oh god I'm so nervous about this one#i hope yall like it#and plz plz share whatever thoughts you have on this (as long as they're positive ofc bc my ego is very fragile YwY)#cake writed#yeah that's a tag now#cakes art#transformers#tf jazz#tf prowl#jazzprowl

BIG FAT MEANY
ship: stepbro!megumi x fem!reader warnings: nsfw đ (p in v, fingering, dub-con); overbearing/possessive brother (aged up: reader and megumi are in early 20s) word count: 4.5k (lololo forgive me y'all got a bit carried away with the storybuilding đ promise this won't happen all the time jajaja ) A/N: Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that i'm reposting this from my alt account, lulu-4-u in case you've seen this posted before... â
¡.¡´đŻâđşâđŻâđşâđšâđ¸âđşâ đ°âđŚâđŽâđ¸âđŞâđłâ đ˛âđŚâđ¸âđšâđŞâđˇâđąâđŽâđ¸âđšâ`¡.¡â

You weren't a hateful person. Not at all.
In fact, you were practically a ball of sunshineâinside and out.
You loved everything.
It was the simple things in life that made your heart flutter: the moon on a clear night, the smell of fresh rain, lazy afternoons spent with your friends from college, and, of course, your family.
Especially the love between your mom and stepdad, Toji.
He came into you and your mom's life at a time when things were pretty darkâyour dad had been having an affair with his secretary, and your mom was left heartbroken. But then, when you were fifteen, Toji walked into the picture, and everything changed for the better.
Out of all the things you cherished, though, there was one thingâone personâyou absolutely hated.
Your stepbrother, Fushiguro Megumi.
You hated how mean he was to you.
How he always managed to push your buttons.
How he treated you like a child, even though you were only a year younger than him.
And what you hated the most?
How pushy he got when things didn't go his way.
"Megumi, I said stop!" you whined, pushing at his annoyingly close chest.
Your mind could only race, trying to piece together exactly how you ended up in this predicament.
The night had started simply enough. It was a Fridayâdate night for your mom and Toji, which meant the house was practically dead.
Normally, you would've just stayed at your dorm, but tonight was different. Your dormmates had been all over you about some party happening on campus, trying to drag you along, but you weren't in the mood.
You'd barely been able to dodge their constant nagging, so instead of getting sucked into something you didnât want to do, you decided to come home.
A weekend in your room sounded a lot better than getting roped into a night of drinking and chaos.
But instead of holing up and rotting away in your room, Megumi had caught you on your way upstairs. He'd askedâwell, more like insistedâif you wanted to watch a movie with him.
It had been a little out of the ordinary, but you shrugged and went along with it, thinking it'd be a decent way to pass the time. And for a while, it had been fine. You both settled on the couch, watching the newest Scream movie.
Until now.
"Megumi, what's your problem? It's just Yuji..." you finally managed, voice small as you sat up properly on the couch, trying to put some distance between the two of you.
"My problem?" he repeated, scoffing like you'd just said something ridiculous. "My problem is you acting like you don't know whatâs going on. That pictureâhe sent it to you for a reason. But you're sitting here like itâs no big deal."
Your brow furrowed, hurt blooming in your chest at what he was insinuating.
You hated it when Megumi got like thisâsharp-tongued, confrontational, like everything you did somehow annoyed him.
And this time? It was all over a damn picture...
It wasn't even a big deal, honestly.
You and Yuji were just chatting as always when among the messages he sent a picture of himself fresh out of soccer practice.
You could vividly recall the boyish grin plastered across his face, eyes bright with his usual warmth.
But it wasn't just the smile that caught your attention.
His shirt, the one you knew had probably been soaked with sweat from practice, was pulled halfway up, wiping at his forehead. It casually exposed the lean muscles of his abdomen, glistening faintly from practice.
He hadn't done it on purposeâhe probably didn't even think twice about sending it knowing himâbut the way his body looked in the picture was enough to make your face burn upon seeing it.
But apparently, what wasn't a big deal to you, was to Megumi...
"Is he your boyfriend or something?" he demanded, glaring down at you. "Yuji, I mean. Is that why you're all flustered? Because he sent you some half-naked picture and now youâre freaking out like some lovesick idiot?"
"What are we, twelve?" you scoffed, crossing your arms and turning your body away from him, your tone sharp. "For your information, it's none of your business what Yuji is to me. We're in college, Megumi. I don't owe you any explanations."
You could feel the heat rise to your face again, but this time it wasn't just from the embarrassment. It was the fact that he felt like he had any right to badger you about this.
He wasn't your parent, your guardianâhell, he wasn't even a friend half the time with the way he acted.
"Why do you even care?" you muttered under your breath, more to yourself than to him. "You're always like this. Sticking your nose where it doesn't belong."
You didn't see the way his jaw clenched or how his gaze sharpened at your words. You were too focused on staring at the wall, trying to calm the whirlwind of emotions swirling in your chest.
You stood up abruptly, ready to head back to your room, away from his snappy attitude.
But just as you turned, a large hand wrapped around your wrist, halting your steps.
You froze, looking over your shoulder to see Megumi. He was staring up at you through his dark hair, head tilted slightly, a burning look in his eyes that made your heart race in a way you didn't like. His grip was firm but not painfulâjust enough to keep you there.
"Megumi, let go," you huffed, your lips pouting as your eyebrows furrowed in frustration. You gave a light tug on your arm, but his hand didn't budge.
He didn't say anything, just kept staring at you, his expression unreadable. That silenceâhis stubborn, infuriating silenceâonly made your frustration build.
Why did he have to be like this?
"I said let go!" you repeated, yanking on your arm harder this time, but his grip tightened. You felt a hot flash of anger rise in your chest.
"If you don'tâ" you started, your voice trembling with frustration, "I'm gonna tell Mom and Toji when they get home."
His eyes flickered for a second, and just as the words left your mouth, he scoffed, standing up in one smooth motion, his form towering over yours.
You could feel the heat of him, the intensity of his presence making you instinctively take a small step back.
"What?" he sneered, his voice low and mocking. "You're gonna tell them that you're whoring around?"
You gasped, your eyes going wide in shock, heart slamming in your chest. "What the hell, Megumi? Why would youâ?" you started, but the words barely made it past your lips before he cut you off, stepping even closer, his voice quick and biting.
Megumi stepped even closer, his body towering over yours as he stared down at you through his dark lashes, his voice dropping into something almost mocking.
"Or are you gonna run to Toji?" he taunted, his lips curling into a smirk that sent a shiver down your spine. "I bet you'd like that, huh? Telling him how mean I'm being to you... like some helpless little girl."
Your breath hitched, your back pressing against the wall as he closed the space between you, his presence overwhelming.
You felt cornered, heat rising to your cheeks in a way you couldnât control. His words, the way he looked at youâit all left you speechless.
You hated that he had this effect on you, hated the way he made your pulse race, not just from anger but something deeper, something you couldn't quite place.
Megumi leaned in slightly, his eyes never leaving yours. "Or maybe you like it when I'm mean to you. Is that it? You're always whining, but you never tell them, do you? Why's that?"
You cleared your throat, trying to steady yourself, your eyes darting off to the side to avoid the intensity of his gaze. "B-because," you stammered, voice barely above a whisper, your cheeks still burning hot.
"Because what?"
You swallowed hard, finally meeting his eyes, though the way he was looking down at you made your heart pound even harder. "Because⌠you're my big brother..."
As soon as the words left your mouth, you felt silly for even uttering them. You expected him to laugh, to scoff at you like he always did, but instead, his expression didn't change. If anything, something darker flickered in his eyes as he leaned even closer, his breath hot against your skin.
"Is that what you tell yourself?" he asked quietly, his voice low and almost dangerous. "That it's just because I'm your big brother?" He tilted his head slightly, still staring down at you, his eyes narrowing just a bit. "You sure that's it?"
You could feel the heat rushing to your face again, heart pounding painfully in your chest as you struggled to find words, any words, to push him away.
Your mind raced, and though you wanted to focus on the anger bubbling up, a different thought crept in, unwanted but undeniable.
Megumi was attractive.
Like, really, really attractive.
You hated to admit it, but standing there, inches from him, it was impossible to ignore. He towered over you, standing at least six feet tall, his broad shoulders filling out the plain black t-shirt he wore.
You could see the faint outline of his muscles beneath the fabric, the way his chest rose and fell with every breath, the strong line of his jaw clenched in irritation.
His dark hair fell over his forehead in that effortless way it always did, messy but somehow perfect, framing his sharp, intense features.
And those eyesâGods, those eyes.
Even though they were currently glaring down at you with frustration, you couldn't deny the pull they had. Dark, stormy, and filled with an intensity that made it hard to hold his gaze for long.
They were the kind of eyes that could make anyone feel small, vulnerable, and you hated how they always managed to affect you.
Your breath hitched as you let yourself take him in for just a moment too long, your body betraying you with a sharp jolt of attraction. But noâno.
You weren't going to go there.
This was Megumi, your stepbrother, and as good as he looked, he was being a complete asshole right now.
You shook your head quickly, trying to rid yourself of the thought. Stop it. Stop thinking like that.
Clearing your throat, you took a deep breath and straightened up, attempting to put on your most serious face, even though your heart was still hammering in your chest.
"Look, 'Gumi," you began, your voice sounding steadier than you felt, using the nickname you had given him years ago. It rolled off your tongue easily, a little too familiar for the situation at hand, but you needed something to ground yourself. "I'm not sure whatâs wrong. And I'm sorry if I did anything to make you upset, but you have got to stop this..."
You trailed off, knowing full well what the 'this' was. And deep down, Megumi knew too.
It wasn't just about Yuji, or any other guy, really. It was him.
It was how he actedâhow he always got so weirdly possessive, so jealous, whenever another guy so much as talked to you.
You didn't even have to be interested in them; the mere mention of someone else was enough to set him off.
You'd seen it countless times. The sharp glares, the biting comments, the way his jaw would tighten at the mention of a boy's name.
It was always the same, this constant undercurrent of envy and jealousy that never made sense, and it wasn't just a protective brother thing.
No, it was something else.
Something darker.
Something you weren't ready to acknowledge.
Megumi's jaw clenched, and for a second, you thought he was going to say something or maybe even do something.
You braced yourself, heart racing with both frustration and something you didn't want to name.
But instead, he let go of your wrist, taking a step back.
"FineâŚ" he muttered, his voice low and almost too calm. "You're right, and I'm sorry."
You blinked, momentarily thrown off. Megumi? Apologizing?
He never apologized to you, not like this. Usually, he'd just brush you off, act like whatever happened didn't matter or somehow turn it back on you. But now, here he was, actually acknowledging his behavior.
It felt strange, and you weren't quite sure how to respond.
"Uh, well, um, thank youâŚ" you mumbled, still processing.
It didn't feel real, this sudden shift. But before you could dwell on it for too long, you turned to leave again, ready to retreat to the safety of your room where you could put distance between yourself and this confusing experience.
But just as you began to walk away, you felt it againâhis hand, firm around your wrist.
He wasn't letting go.
"Where's my apology?" he asked, his tone unsettlingly calm.
"Huh?" you responded, confused by the sudden demand. Your brain barely had time to catch up with the words before Megumi yanked you forward, pulling you off balance.
You stumbled, instinctively putting your hands up to steady yourself, but you ended up falling into his chest instead. "Oof!"
Your hands pressed against the solid warmth of him, trying to create some space, but Megumi's arm wrapped around your waist, holding you close.
The heat from his body seeped into yours, making it impossible to ignore how solid and overwhelming he felt against you.
"Megumiâ" you started, breathless, but the rest of your sentence was cut off as he brought his lips close to your ear, his voice soft and commanding.
"ShushâŚ" he murmured, the sound sending a shiver down your spine. "Let's just finish the movie."
With that, he pulled you back down onto the couch next to him, his arm still wrapped around your waist, keeping you tethered to his side. You were practically sitting on his lap, his arm still holding you close, and your mind was spinning, trying to wrap itself around what was happening.
The movie played in the background, but you couldn't focus on anything except the heavy tension in the room and the warmth of his body pressing against yours.
As you tried to shift away, to put some space between you, Megumi's voice pierced through the room, low and deliberate. "You know," he began, his hand dropping lower, his fingers brushing the inner corner of your thigh. "I just realized something⌠we never got to bond." He emphasized the word by gripping your thigh, his touch firm and intentional.
Your breath hitched at the contact, and your mind blanked for a second, overwhelmed by how sudden and intense his presence felt. "I-I mean, we still can," you stuttered, trying to defuse the situation, trying to keep this from going wherever it was heading.
But the way Megumi's face pulled into a wicked smirk, the sharp gleam in his eyes, made your stomach drop. He leaned in closer, licking his lips as he watched your reaction, his grip tightening slightly on your leg.
The air around you felt thick, it was as if everything had narrowed down to just thisâhis gaze, his hands on you, the heat of his body so close to yours.
Before you could even think of moving again, Megumi's hand suddenly gripped your jaw, his fingers firm against your skin as he turned your face toward him.
His touch was possessive, controlling, and it sent a wave of something through youâpart fear, part something darker that you didn't want to name.
"C'mon, look at me," he said, his voice a low murmur as he scooted even closer, towering over you now. He tilted your head back slightly, forcing you to meet his eyes, and even if you wanted to pull away, you couldn't.
His grip was too strong, too sure.
Megumi watched your reaction closely, his smirk growing as he tilted his head, amusement flickering in his eyes. "What's wrong? You don't wanna play with your big brother?" The way he said it, his voice dripping with a mock sweetness, sent shivers down your spine, and your heart pounded painfully in your chest.
"G-Gumi, the movieâŚ" you stammered, trying to deflect, to push him away with your words, but it was no use.
You knew nothing good was going to come from this.
He just chuckled softly, his fingers gripping your jaw a little tighter as he leaned even closer, his breath hot against your skin. "Forget the movie," he muttered, his voice taking on that dangerous edge again.
Before you could react, Megumi grabbed both of your wrists, pinning them to your side with one hand.
You were startled by how effortlessly he did itâhis arms didn't even bulge, as if it was nothing for him to hold you down like this. Your heart raced even faster, panic starting to creep in as you realized how strong he really was.
You tried to squirm, to pull away, but Megumi didn't budge. His grip on you was firm, almost casual, like he was barely putting in any effort to keep you trapped against him.
Megumi tutted at you, a soft noise that somehow felt condescending, as he leaned in closer, his lips brushing against the shell of your ear. "The movie's still there, silly," he hummed, the warmth of his breath sending a shiver down your spine.
You could feel him nosing along the contours of your neck, his presence overwhelming every one of your senses.
"Let's just play a game until the commercials are over, yeah?" he murmured, his voice low and teasing, as if this were all some harmless joke to him.
"A-A game?" you stuttered, your mind struggling to keep up with what was happening. Your body felt frozen in place, your instincts screaming at you to move, to get away, but the grip he had on your wrists, the way he held you down so effortlessly, made it impossible.
"YeahâŚ" he whispered, his lips brushing the sensitive skin of your neck. "Let's play⌠who can last the longest."
The words didn't even fully register before you felt the sudden force of him pushing you back against the sofa.
An involuntary "oomph" escaped your lips as your back hit the cushions, and your vision blurred for a second as you stared up at the ceiling, heart pounding in your ears.
Before you could gather your thoughts, Megumi was hovering above you, his body blocking out everything else. His dark eyes raked over your face, taking in every flicker of emotion you couldn't hide, every sign of the fear and confusion coursing through you.
He didn't move, not yet, but the weight of his gaze pinned you in place as effectively as his body did.
There was something in his expressionâan intensity that made your chest tighten, made it hard to breathe, and you couldn't help but feel like you were already losing whatever game this was.
Megumi let out a deep chuckle, the sound reverberating in your chest, his breath hot against your ear. "Don't worry," he murmured, his tongue flicking out to lick the curve of your ear, making you shiver. "I'll go easy on you⌠for now."
"Megumiâ" you started, your cry cut off as his hand cupped your jaw, and he slammed his lips onto yours, his movements forceful and possessive.
Heat shot through your body, shivers running down your spine as his tongue invaded your mouth like a man starving. It was overwhelming, the way he kissed youâdemanding, fierce, leaving no room for resistance.
You whimpered against his mouth, the noise muffled by the way his lips devoured yours. His hands wandered along your body, gripping, grabbing, squeezing any part of you he could find.
The pressure of his touch was firm, almost bruising, and with every place his hands explored, your body responded with an involuntary jolt of heat.
Your breath hitched as he hooked his hands under your legs, pulling them up and around his waist, his hips jolting forward into yours. The movement sent a rush of sensation through you.
You managed to tear your lips from his, gasping for air as your chest heaved. "M-Megumi, stopâŚ" you whined, your voice trembling, your head falling back as you tried to make sense of what was happening, what he was doing to you.
He didn't stop. Instead, he groaned low in his throat, his lips finding your neck. He licked and bit along the sensitive skin there, the rough scrape of his teeth making you shiver even as you tried to push the sensation away.
Your mind was at war with itselfâone part of you frothing, screaming, fight him, get him away, the panic clawing at your chest.
But the other sideâthe darker part, the one that you didnât want to admit was thereâwas keening, practically begging for more of his attention, for more of this twisted game.
And Megumi, as if sensing the battle raging inside of you, just smiled against your skin, biting down a little harder, leaving a mark you knew wouldn't fade anytime soon.
Megumi pulled back slightly, making a deliberate show of licking his lips as he panted above you, his eyes dark and focused. "C'mon, lil sis," he murmured, rocking his hips into yours in a slow, rough rhythm that made your breath catch in your throat. "The game can't start until you're ready."
Your body betrayed you as you watched him put a hand between your bodies, his fingers easily slipping into the confines of your sleeping shorts. "Ohhh, looks like you really wanna play, huh?" he taunted, his voice laced with smugness as his fingers rubbed up and down your wet slit.
A wave of shame washed over you, your thighs twitching with the instinct to close, to shut them and stop what was happening, but his frame kept them wide open.
You couldn't escape the heat pooling low in your stomach, no matter how hard you tried to fight it. A choked whine left your mouth, your back arching involuntarily when he slipped a finger inside.
Megumi let out a groan, low and rumbling, as if he was savoring the sensation. "DamnâŚ" he muttered under his breath, cursing softly as he felt your walls constrict around his finger. His thumb brushed over your clit, making your whole body jerk, and when he added a second finger, the fight in you began to crumble.
His fingers were relentless, rubbing and probing with a skill that left you breathless. Your legs, which had tried to resist, opened wider for him, your body moving of its own accord.
Megumi hummed in approval, a light chuckle escaping his lips as he muttered, "Good girl." The words sent a rush of conflicting emotions through youâhumiliation, desire, confusionâbut you couldn't stop the way your body responded to him.
And before you knew it, you came. Babbled whimpers fell from your lips as the coil within you snapped, your body shaking with the force of it.
By the time you came down from the high, Megumi had already pulled back, sitting on his haunches as he dropped your legs.
You curled your legs up to your body, watching as he began to untie his drawstring sweats, his eyes still locked on you with that same wicked smirk.
You looked away just as you caught a glimpse of the dark trail of hair peeking out from his waistband, heart pounding in your chest.
At this point, you had accepted what was about to happen, and your mind raced as you braced yourself.
Megumi crawled back over you, his hands tugging at your shorts, and you barely registered the feeling as he discarded them over his shoulder. One of your legs was pulled back around his waist, the heat of his skin pressing against yours.
His body hovered over yours, and you felt him nudge your entrance with the tip of his dick, sliding it up and down along your slit.
A shiver ran through you as you struggled to keep your thoughts clear, but it was impossible under the weight of him, both physically and mentally.
"Fuck," he groaned to himself, eyes locked on where your bodies were beginning to connect.
Your breathing grew shallow, your heart racing uncontrollably, knowing that whatever came next, there was no turning back.
Megumi filled you in one swift movement, stealing your breath away. You cried out, the sound a mix of pleasure and pain echoing through the room. His groan was long and guttural, reverberating in the space between you.
Megumi's rhythm was steady, each thrust sending a jolt of shock of pleasure through your body.
It felt surrealâpart of you couldn't believe you were letting this happen, but the undeniable pleasure clouded every coherent thought.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling him deeper, the intensity of it all overwhelming your senses.
"That's right," Megumi grunted, his breath hot against your ear. "Take all of me."
You couldn't form words, your mind spinning, too overwhelmed by the sensations coursing through you.
Instead, all you could do was moan and whimper, your body moving with his, the sound of skin meeting skin filling the room. His hand snaked up to your throat, gripping lightly as he maintained a relentless pace.
"You like that, don't you? You like the way big brother fucks you?" he growled, his voice harsh and demanding, his thrusts becoming even more intense.
Your mind reeled, unable to speak, only nodding frantically in response as the pleasure built inside you. You could feel the pressure mounting, an orgasm threatening to wash over you as your body tensed beneath him.
Megumi seemed to notice, his hands hiking your legs up higher, deepening the angle, each movement more brutal and precise than the last.
You lay there, body writhing beneath his as he fucked you like a ragdoll, and a dark part of you couldn't help but thrill in the way he took control. His voice filled your ear with praise, breathless murmurs of "you're doing so good for me," and other words that barely registered through the haze, as if he were drunk off the feeling of you clamped around him.
Soon, his tempo shifted, becoming erratic, his grip on your hips tightening as his low moans became uncontrollable.
The intensity built until you felt warmth spreading inside you, the realization hitting you that he was coming, his release flooding your senses.
The throbbing between you two blurred together, until yours faded, and you could still feel him twitching, even as everything else calmed.
Eventually, he slowed, both of you panting, the room thick with the aftermath. You winced when he finally pulled out, a shiver running through you as you felt the hot liquid seeping out.
Megumi stood to grab cleaning supplies, gently wiping you off, his touch softer now, though still lingering in the tension of what had just occurred.
And as you lay there, watching him, all you could think was, What the fuck just happened?

Hello! Someone genuinely trying to understand and perhaps unlearn some reactionary tendencies. With the response to that anon about "not asking if you're a pro or anti", the response about "imagine if they put this much effort into protecting real kids" definitely got me thinking. So... Is an adult shipping children and finding that hot NEVER a red flag? Or is it case by case on seeing how that person handles the distinction between fiction and reality in other things? And bringing the issue of real kids into it, if a real kid who has been abused sees someone shipping kids and finds that a red flag in that person, that... No, no I juicy answered my own question on that one. Block them and cultivate your own experience.
hi there anon, and congrats on trying to unlearn some things! and great job catching yourself at the end there, that's exactly correct.
I will start by saying this right out of the gate: fundamentally, I do not really give a shit about what made up scenarios about fictional characters people are jorking it to in private. I am, first and foremost, interested in how they are interacting with actual, real people.
"but Makenzie are you saying people who look at sexually explicit images of real human kids should be allowed near children?" no I'm not. please note that I was specifically talking about people engaging with fictional characters who are, you know, not real and do not have feelings and therefore cannot actually be hurt, traumatized, abused, etc, in any way that actually matters. I want to be so clear about this: you can genuinely think whatever vile things you want about fictional characters. you can enjoy any problematic shit you want with little guys who don't actually exist.
like, here's an example I use a lot: I'm kind of a huge Batman fan. don't know if you could tell that or not, I'm pretty subtle about it. if you spend any time in the Batman mythos, you know that this is a story where you just kind of have to take for granted that our hero is a billionaire using his vast wealth to dispatch vigilante justice with military grade weaponry and a small army of child soldiers and cop friends to help him put people in prison. these are moral quandaries that are discussed and acknowledged within the story, but fundamentally the universe is always going to involve billionaire vigilantism and child soldiers and the so-called carceral justice system. that's just the price of admission if you're gonna read Batman.
and like. I spend a lot of time in that world. I love Batman, I love his child soldiers. he's my little blorbo or whatever. but like, at no point have I said "yeah, fuck it, preteens should be learning martial arts to fight domestic terrorists, actually. I think Elon Musk SHOULD be allowed to put on a fursuit and beat up criminals. cops need more funding." no amount of Batman comics can make me believe or act on any of those things because, you know, I'm a person with a brain and I know the difference between "thing that makes a good story" and "thing that should actually happen for real."
and the thing is that genuinely, honestly, if someone thought that it was a red flag that I like Batman, and that enjoying Batman comics was somehow a red flag indicating that I'm fine with violence being done against real, actual children? I would think that person was a nut, if I can be super real. like, I'm thinking about somebody trying to make the case that I shouldn't be allowed to hang out with my nephew because I enjoy the fictional character of Robin so clearly I'm going to kill my nephew's parents in front of him to try to get him into vigilante justice. or if someone attempted to bar me from teaching my 4th-6th grade sex ed classes on the grounds that I was obviously going to teach them to do karate to clowns instead of how their reproductive systems worked.
(although, lets be real, there are a lot of politicians who would MUCH rather let little kids cage fight each other than learn anything about safer sex.)
this doesn't just apply to morally bad things, either, btw. I also read a lot of romance novels, especially hetero romances. and the thing is, not one of those books has made me want to fall in love with a ruggedly handsome but condescending straight man. hell, none of them have made me want to fall in love with anybody, period. that's not really something I'm interested in for myself, it's just a fun and frequently funny dynamic to explore. I'm hardly the first queer person to point out that the allegations that queer media "turns kids gay/trans" is obviously bullshit since the vertible mountain of cishet media evidently failed to turn any of us straight/cis, you know?
my point being: no, I genuinely don't think it's often, if ever, reasonable to judge someone's actual, real life morals by how they interact with fiction.
I'm going to say something so vulnerable right now, because we're in a safe space here: since you asked me this very reasonable question, you evidently value my judgment and perspective at least a little bit. and I once read and thoroughly enjoyed a fic in which Dr. Horrible, from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, gets fucked by a sapient evil horse. and I don't think that makes me a morally reprehensible person, or a person who advocates for real human beings having real sex with real horses. I think it just makes me kind of a weirdo with a bullshit tolerance.
if you want to hear a MUCH more thorough take on this, complete with addressing the issue of shipping fictional children, I cannot recommend Princess Weekes' video essay enough:

I used to love Hinny as a ship - until I realized all the reasons I loved it were blanks in the text that I filled in in my head. Within the text itself, JKR seriously ruined this ship. She gave Harry & Ginny absolutely phenomenal potential as a couple ⌠and then went nowhere with it.
The Horcrux plotline couldâve been THE thing that brought those two together. Because Ginny was literally possessed by a Horcrux for a whole year. She of all people should understand what itâs like for Harry - a Horcrux himself - to feel so mentally violated by Voldemort. And honestly this is why I shipped them as I was reading the books; I figured thatâd be a beautiful way of bonding them in the future.
But insteadâŚwhen Ginny mentions that experience in the later books, Harry literally says âI forgot.â
EXCUSE ME??????
Weâre supposed to believe sheâs the love of his life when he FORGOT THAT SHE SPENT A WHOLE YEAR POSSESSED BY HIS GREATEST ENEMY AND HE HAD TO RESCUE HER FROM SAID ENEMY????
(Meanwhile he remembers something Draco looked at in a shop 4 years ago.)
Iâm sorry but I just canât buy that.
Then when they do get together, does it happen because Harry realizes âoh Ginny gets meâ? No, itâs because Harry suddenly and abruptly thinks âoh no, sheâs hot.â
And then they never talk about Voldemort. He never trusts her with the Horcrux info, the way he trusts Ron and Hermione, his best friends. He gets with her as an escape/way of forgetting what heâs been going through, which is the most shallow excuse for a relationship.
Then she proves she actually doesnât get him at all, when she says âI knew you wouldnât be happy unless you were fighting Voldemort.â HAPPY??? Harry is not HAPPY to be fighting Voldemort!! Ginny assumes Harry enjoys being The Chosen One, being the hero that she sees him as. If she really understood him, she would never say that.
Weâre supposed to think theyâd actually be perfect life partners???
Plus thereâs not even a payoff between Ginny and Voldemort in any way. Imagine how satisfying it wouldâve been if Ginny got to destroy one of the Horcruxes. Not that Neville didnât deserve his big moment, but like if Ginny had been in the Room of Requirement fire scene and tossed the diadem into the flames herself, or if sheâd been the first one to pick up the Sword of Gryffindor and used it to save some people before tossing it to Neville for him to take out Nagini. Forget her being the main characterâs endgame love interest - Ginny herself, as her own character, deserved that closure.
And then the movies didnât even TRY to fix this - they actually made it blatantly worse by stripping Ginny of all of her book personality, causing their relationship to make even LESS sense.
Hinny are more of an idea of a great couple than actually a great couple. We come up with all these reasons in our heads why theyâd be good together, but JKR never actually puts those reasons into the text or makes them a proper part of the story to give their relationship real development. Instead, she makes it extremely superficial and, in many ways, toxic.
Ladies, letâs all agree we can do better than a guy who is a longtime family friend and yet forgets about that one time we got possessed by an evil wizard even though he remembers what his ârivalâ glanced at in a store 4 years ago.

Ello, I'm back to respectfully request Sanji with a reader who smokes. Reader has been stealing smokes from Sanji while also keeping their bad habit a secret from the rest of the crew. Once the rest of the crew find out and a light scolding from sanji (especially if you wanna do fem reader because he'd never yell at a lady in anger) Reader and Sanji become smoking buddies and it becomes a kinda unspoken thing that when sanji steps out for a smoke break reader will follow.
(A very fluffy request after the the flith I requested as a palette cleanser <3)
Yuus!! Something about Sanji smoking is just so..GODDAMN...HOT. Unfair, really.
Hope you enjoy!
Smoke Signals
Sanji x Reader
You didnât mean to start stealing them. It just⌠sort of happened.
At first, it was oneâsnuck from a box left out on the counter while Sanji was distracted bickering with Zoro. You were planning to toss it. Honestly. But it sat in your pocket all day. And when the sun set low and the crew was distracted by a loud game of cards, you found yourself behind the galley, crouched next to a barrel, lighting it with shaking hands.
One became two. Then five. Then⌠well. You were practically on a schedule.
No one knew. At least, you thought no one knew. But Sanji? Sanji always knows.
It came to a head one quiet afternoon.
You were perched behind the Sunnyâs mast, tucked away in your secret spot between some crates, the butt of a half-finished cigarette between your fingers. You hadnât even gotten three puffs in before:
âThatâs my brand, yâknow.â
You nearly jumped out of your skin, spinning to see Sanji leaning on the railing just around the corner, one eye visible through his fringe, narrowed with something between amusement and quiet judgment.
ââŚDonât know what youâre talking about.â
He tilted his head, slowly approaching with a cigarette of his own tucked behind his ear. He didnât look angryâif anything, he looked⌠smug. Too smug.
âThought I was losing my mind,â he said. âBox after box, lighter always warm. You think I donât keep track of my own stash?â
You blew smoke to the side and muttered, âThought you were just chain smoking more than usual.â
He huffed a laugh at that, crouching beside you.
âI do chain smoke,â he admitted, âbut not that much. Youâve got light fingers.â
Silence.
The breeze tickled the hair at your temples, but you didnât look at him. You focused on the cigarette instead, avoiding the way he was watching you.
ââŚYou gonna tell the others?â you asked, tone low. âItâs a bad habit. I know. I donât need Chopper or Nami getting on my ass.â
Sanji was quiet for a beat. When he finally spoke, it was gentle.
âNo. Not unless you want me to.â
You blinked, glancing at him. âWhy not?â
He shrugged. âI get it. Sometimes itâs not about the smoke. Sometimes itâs just about the moment.â
He pulled the cigarette from behind his ear and lit it, flicking the lighter once before handing it to you without looking.
You didnât speak, just took it with a small nod.
The two of you sat like that for a whileâquiet, back to the mast, knees pulled up. The smoke curled in lazy spirals, drifting off into the wind.
Then Sanji added, a little softer, âBut I am cutting you off.â
You blinked. âWhat?â
âIf youâre gonna keep the habit, youâre buying your own packs. Iâm not your dealer, sweetheart.â
You snorted, laughing for the first time all day. âFine. Stingy.â
He smirked. âDamn right I am.â
âYou know, if I were anyone else, Iâd be giving you a damn lecture,â Sanji said, flicking ash over the rail as you exhaled beside him. âItâs a filthy habit. Bad for your lungs, your skin, your staminaââ
âYour teeth,â you added, puffing smoke toward his head with a sly smile.
He side-eyed you. âI was being mature, thank you.â
âYouâre being hypocritical.â
âTch.â
You both went quiet for a moment, listening to the soft creak of the ship as it rocked against the sea. A gull squawked overhead. Somewhere in the distance, Usopp shouted something about a âsea beast with too many eyes.â
You took a long drag, eyes half-lidded. âHow long have you been smoking anyway?â
Sanji gave a small sigh, his lips curling into a crooked smile. âSince I was about fourteen, actually. Zeff used to catch me behind crates and throw bread at my head.â
You laughed. âSounds like something Nami would do.â
âSheâd use a shoe,â he muttered, and you both grinned.
Thenâ
âWHAT IS THAT SMELL?!â
You froze. Sanji swore under his breath. You turned to see Chopper, eyes wide, nostrils twitching like heâd just walked into a burning pharmacy.
âWHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE BURNT POISON?!â Chopper shouted.
You panicked, immediately stuffing your cigarette behind your back (like that would help), while Sanji coolly tried to step in front of you. It didnât work. Chopper had already seen everything.
âYouâre smoking?! YOUâRE BOTH SMOKING?â
âCalm down, Chopperââ Sanji tried.
âCALM?! CALM?! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT DOES TO A DEERâS LUNGS?! OR A HUMANâS?! OR A HALF-HUMAN-HALF-GIRAFFEâ?! Wait. No. Thatâs Kaku.â
The shouting attracted everyone.
Luffy dropped down from the upper deck. âSmoking? Whoâs smoking?â Usopp and Franky came bounding over. âYo, whatâs the dramaâwhoa. Are you smoking behind the barrels?!â Namiâs eyes narrowed. âWait. You? Youâre smoking?â
You looked at Sanji. He looked at you.
ââŚTraitors,â you muttered.
âWE KNEW SANJI SMOKED,â Nami said, pointing a very betrayed finger your way. âYou were supposed to be the healthy one! The one who eats fruit voluntarily!â
âI still eat fruit voluntarily!â
âNOT ENOUGH IF YOUâRE PICKLING YOUR LUNGS!â
Franky leaned on the railing, looking impressed. âDidnât think you had it in you. Secret smoke ninja. Suuuper stealth.â
Usopp gasped. âYouâre the smoke thief! I told Sanji he wasnât just losing them!â
Sanji, still trying to play it cool, waved a hand. âAlright, alrightâeveryone back off. I already gave them a hard time. They know itâs bad. Theyâre cutting back.â
You snorted. âNo, Iâm not.â
He kicked your shin. You elbowed his side. The two of you bickered until Luffy finally said:
âWait. Are cigarettes like candy sticks?â
âNO!â âYES!â âSanjiâ!â
The cook sighed, rubbing his temples. âOkay. Fine. Donât be like me.â
Nami crossed her arms, and Robin, from the stairs above, smiled with that ominous softness. âWe could always hide the cigarettes.â
Sanji and you both paled.
âTry,â you challenged, only half-serious.
âPlease donât,â Sanji added. Fully serious.
That night, the two of you lit up behind the kitchenâs back wall, now exiled to the furthest edge of the deck. You both inhaled quietly, the stars above you, the sea whispering soft shushes around the ship.
Sanji spoke first, blowing smoke toward the moon.
ââŚYouâre gonna quit someday.â
You didnât answer.
After a long pause, you replied, âMaybe. But not tonight.â
He bumped your shoulder. âYeah. Me neither.â
It became a rhythm. Not one either of you planned, exactly. It just⌠was.
If Sanji stepped outside after a meal, still rolling his sleeves up and sighing like the weight of the kitchen was dragging him down, youâd be about thirty seconds behind him, arms crossed, pretending you were just happening to be out on deck at the same time.
If you stood up mid-conversation and brushed a hand against Sanjiâs arm, gave the lightest nudge to his side or shoulder, heâd sigh with the fondness of a long-suffering boyfriend, reach into his breast pocket, and wordlessly follow.
Eventually, Sanji stopped bothering with words. Heâd pat your head twiceâtap tapâand head toward the usual spot near the edge of the galley, glancing over his shoulder to make sure you were following.
You always did.
It was quiet time. Not for venting, not for planning. Just existing. Just breathing the same poisoned air together while the Sunny glided across blue.
And to everyone else on the ship⌠it was maddeningly, weirdly cute.
One afternoon, Nami was laying out her maps, trying to concentrate while Luffy snored on the floor beside her. She didnât even look up as she muttered:
âThere they go again.â
Zoro, from the other side of the deck, raised an eyebrow. âHuh?â
She jerked her chin toward Sanji, who had just padded across the deck. Tap tap. Two fingers on your head. You blinked, stood up, and followed him with zero hesitation, the two of you slipping around the corner like practiced dancers.
Zoro blinked slowly. âThey really do that every day now, huh.â
Robin turned a page in her book. âEvery afternoon, post-lunch, and before dinner prep. Like clockwork.â
Usopp groaned from above, dangling off the mast. âTheyâre like pigeons. Pigeons that blow smoke rings and flirt without knowing itâs flirting.â
âI can hear you,â you called over the wind.
âTHEN STOP BEING CUTE ABOUT IT!â Usopp yelled back, voice cracking.
That evening, as the stars peeked out of the inky sky, you and Sanji leaned against the railing, barely speaking.
He offered his lighter, but you were already flicking yours.
âBeat you,â you said.
âOnly âcause mineâs temperamental,â he muttered, puffing smoke from the corner of his mouth.
You were quiet for a moment, letting the silence settle.
Then: âWhy do you pat my head like that?â
Sanji blinked. âDunno. Habit now. Easier than calling out.â
âYou do it in front of everyone.â
âIs that a problem?â
ââŚNo.â
You leaned forward on the rail, elbows braced, head tilted slightly to the side. The way your hair caught the breeze made something tight curl in his chest. He quickly looked away.
You didnât say anything else.
Neither did he.
But when he flicked the ash from his cigarette and nudged your elbow with his ownâlightly, just onceâit felt like a wordless secret. A shared ritual. A pact of smoke and quiet and weird affection.
Back in the kitchen later that night, Zoro shoved a dish into Sanjiâs arms.
âYouâre insufferable, you know that?â
Sanji blinked. âWhat did I do this time?â
Zoro rolled his eyes. âYouâre turning smoking into flirting. Itâs disgusting.â
Sanji just smirked, lighting another stick.
âJealous?â Zoro growled. You walked past. Tap tap. Sanji followed you with a grin.
Zoro muttered, âIâm gonna start setting their cigarettes on fire with my swords.â
-
You didnât always smoke anymore.
Sometimes, when Sanji stepped out for a break, you followed just to be thereâhands in your pockets, leaning beside him in the breeze, letting the silence hum between you while he lit up. No cigarette in your mouth. Just presence.
He noticed the first time.
âYou forgetting something?â he asked, tapping the box in his hand.
You just shrugged. âNah. Just wanted the company.â
He blinked. Looked at you for a second too long. Then turned away, ears just barely pink.
ââŚâCourse,â he murmured, smoke curling around his lips.
It happened gradually. Youâd disappear after docking on a new island and return with little brown-paper-wrapped bundles tucked under your arm. Sanji would be in the middle of slicing something or stirring a sauce, and youâd toss them onto the counter with a casual, âGot your favorites. That one vendor in the alley with the beard. He remembered you.â
The first time, he blinked, looked down at the pack, and tried not to smile too obviously.
âYou didnât need to,â he said, voice soft.
You just shrugged again. âDid anyway.â
Even if you werenât low. Even if he had cartons stashed away. Even if you were technically trying to cut back.
Didnât matter. You always brought him more. Unprompted. Like a quiet habit.
He always thanked you. But over time, the thanks started slipping into things like âYouâre too sweet for your own good,â or âHowâs a guy supposed to stay cool when you do stuff like that?â
The words came with little touches. A nudge of knuckles. A pat to your head that lingered half a second too long. His thumb smoothing a wrinkle out of your sleeve.
The crew noticed.
âOh, theyâre worse now,â Usopp muttered one day, watching the two of you return to the ship side-by-side, matching stride for stride.
âTheyâre not even smoking!â Nami whisper-hissed. âWhatâs the point of sneaking off together?!â
Robin didnât look up from her book. âThe point is each other.â
Franky whistled. âThatâs suuuper soft.â
âDo we say something?â Chopper asked, fidgeting.
âNo,â Zoro groaned. âIf we say something, theyâll stop. Let the weirdos have their little smoke-date thing.â
ââŚYouâre just mad no one shares cigarettes with you.â
Zoro turned to Usopp slowly. âYou want to go through what their lungs are going through?â
ââŚTouchĂŠ.â
That night, you leaned against the galley wall, eyes closed. Sanji was beside you, watching the stars. He was halfway through a smoke, and you were sipping a cold drink instead, exhaling like youâd just finished a long day.
He glanced at you. At your relaxed posture, the way your eyes flickered open to look at him without urgency. The way the corners of your mouth pulled just slightly upward.
He wanted to kiss you. He didnât.
But he said quietly, âThanks for the pack earlier.â
You just smiled and said, âDonât mention it.â
He didnât. Not out loud, anyway.
But when he knocked the ash off the end of his cigarette and brushed your pinky with his own, holding it there for a heartbeat longer than usualâŚ
You understood.
-
Sanji wasnât watching you. Not intentionally.
He just⌠happened to be looking in your direction. And happened to see you talking to some flashy vendor with too many rings and not enough shame. You were laughingâshoulders bouncing, face bright in a way he hadn't seen all week. And you leaned in closeâtoo close for his comfort.
He felt something cold twist in his gut. It wasnât rage. Not the kind that flared and shouted. It was quiet. Burning slow, like the cigarette pinched between his fingers.
He turned away.
Didnât even finish his smoke.
Later that afternoon, you returned to the Sunny with a bounce in your step and a suspiciously smug grin.
He was cleaning up the galley, moving a little more sharply than usual. His sleeves were already rolled, jaw clenched slightly as he chopped onions like theyâd personally offended him.
You came in with a paper bag and chirped, âSanji!â
He grunted, not looking.
You held the bag out with two hands. âLook what I got. I donât even want to smoke theseâI just wanted to see your face.â
Still silent.
You dramatically opened the bag with a flourish, revealing a golden box of premium black-label, sea-aged cigarettes, the kind Sanji would never buy for himself.
His knife paused mid-chop.
You beamed. âTheyâre limited run! Normally likeâfive times the normal price! But the guy was a fan of the Straw Hats and gave me a discount!â
Sanji finally looked up. His eyes flicked from the box to your excited face, and something in his chest twisted in a completely different way.
ââŚYou dumbass.â
You blinked. âHuh?â
He sighed, putting the knife down and walking over. He took the box gently, fingers brushing yoursâjust for a momentâand examined the seal with an incredulous look.
âYou bought me the stupid expensive ones,â he muttered, voice softer now. âJust âcause you like seeing me happy.â
You shrugged, a little bashful now. âWell. Yeah.â
Sanji snorted. Then laughed. Then reached out and flicked your forehead.
âYou really are a dumbass.â
You rubbed your forehead, pouting. âRude.â
He didnât deny it. But the way he looked at youâlingering, fond, helplessly endearedâit said more than words.
That evening, you didnât even get a chance to step outside.
As the crew gathered for dinner, Nami finally put her chopsticks down and stared across the table.
âAlright,â she said. âWhatâs going on with you two?â
Silence.
You paused mid-bite. Sanji froze, halfway through pouring water into Luffyâs cup.
Robin looked amused. Usopp leaned forward eagerly. Zoro sighed with a muttered âFinally.â
Chopper blinked between you both. âWaitâare they not together?â
Luffy tilted his head. âI thought they were married.â
âMARRIED?â you both exclaimed.
âEmotionally,â Robin clarified. âItâs a very domestic vibe.â
Nami crossed her arms. âSo?â
You looked at Sanji. He looked at you. There was a beat of quiet. A little laughter bubbling at the back of your throat. You nudged his foot with yours.
Sanji scratched the back of his neck, exhaled slowly through his nose, and saidâ
ââŚI like them. A lot.â
Your heart thudded once, loud.
You smiled, slow and sure. âYeah. I like you too, cigarette hoarder.â
Luffy let out a victorious whoop. Usopp choked on his drink. Franky pumped his fist and yelled âSUUUUPER FINALLY!â Zoro raised his glass wordlessly. Robin smiled behind her book.
Nami leaned toward Chopper and whispered, âPay up.â
He groaned and handed over ten berries.
That night, Sanji stepped out for a smoke.
He didnât say anything.
He just tapped your headâtap tapâand waited with a crooked smile until you followed.
You didnât smoke. You didnât even bring a lighter. You just leaned on him while he puffed quietly, the two of you close enough to share warmth. He reached over and laced his fingers through yours.
ââŚThis counts as a date, right?â you asked, voice low.
He chuckled, brushing your knuckles with his thumb. âDumbass.â
But he was grinning.
And you knew he meant yes.

mamao>jinshi
âThereâs nothing I can give him back in return.â
with LN vol 12 and vol 13 out in English, I canât help but once again gush about these two. Because they are honestly one of the healthiest and most frustrating slow burn established relationship ships ever. I seriously love their development, how jinshi has come so far from his unhealthy tendencies towards maomao in the earlier volumes.
sure you can say thatâs the least he could do, but it does matter a lot, for a person whoâs restrained himself all his life, to get everything at his fingertips except for what he truly wanted, to still continue to restrain himself even when what he wants is already there for the taking if only heâd reach out. itâs an acknowledgment and full understanding of the unequal power dynamic between him and maomao, and giving power, at least as much as he is able, over himself to maomao in a way to make up for that unequal dynamic. itâs maomao who gets to decide now what will happen and how fast it will happen in their relationship moving forward.
which I think is brilliant from a story-telling pov because we can focus on the intriguing developments and politics while still getting small but perfect doses of the development of their relationship. not too much, but not too little either. it also makes for an absolutely hilarious dynamic because it seems like itâs maomao whoâs getting frustrated this time around. because sheâs also a person who restrains herself. she may be willful when it comes to medicine, but for something like this? I donât think she learned to ask for what she wants either. sheâs not used to it. so she teases instead. itâs fascinating to see that while jinshi has matured, maomao has retained that side of her, the one which unexpectedly likes teasing and triggering jinshi (oh but she better watch out once he snaps, but part of me thinks this is what she wants ultimately). like seriously, it may not be in-character, but the image of an increasingly frustrated maomao who has her attempts at flirtation constantly thwarted by jinshiâs monk-like almost masochistic self-control will never be not funny to me. I donât discount the possibility that once sheâs finally had it up to here, sheâd be the one to just smack one on him and/or ravish him once and for all. I mean she was the one to steal a kiss first once she accepted Jinshiâs (and her own) feelings.
so linking it to the anime, thereâs no doubt in my mind that maomao truly loves jinshi. like I donât just mean logically how she could fall in love with him with how he respects her agency, and her knowledge, and her skill, while she respects what he stands for (and though she may not admit it), his kindness. I mean that itâs pretty clear to me that both jinshi and maomaoâs love languages are acts of service. And with that thought of maomaoâs, her worrying about being unable to give back to jinshi, shows to me that sheâs worried about placing jinshi in the same position she was in as a baby. she may be ok now (or more like she repressed it), but maomao may have grown up feeling like never having enough (literally being left alone as a baby to cry for hours on end which isnât anyoneâs fault really but more of a matter of circumstance) until she made herself be ok with it.
and the fact that she sees nothing wrong about it when it comes to herself, but is worried about the same thing happening to jinshi, shows to me that her love isnât as lukewarm as she thinks it is. bec inasmuch as jinshi goes above and beyond for her, maomao goes above and beyond for him as well, noticeably almost more than for anyone else. like maomao will perform acts of services for almost anyone, but for her to actually reopen the lid on her emotions, which sheâs kept locked for a long time, shows to me considerable effort and care. because she recognizes the weakness in herself when it comes to emotions, but she doesnât want to hurt jinshi by not giving him enough.
even when she prepared everything for what was supposed to be their first night, jinshi viewed it as her artisanâs spirit, but knowing maomao, itâs not something she would have done otherwise if she didnât really want to do it. she refrained from food and drink, she prepared everything so jinshi wouldnât have to worry. nothing about her preparations screamed transactional. bec again as much as jinshi wants her to rely on him, to burden him, maomao shows her love in how much she wants him to unburden himself. she wants him to be able to stop holding back without worries to the point that sheâs willing to carry that burden for him. sure again you could see it as her being her perfectionist self, but again from what we know of maomao, she does indeed go all out, but only for the things sheâs passionate about, for the things that matter to her. remember her failing the court lady exam? somehow, through everything theyâve went through, jinshi has become someone who matters so much to her that sheâs willing to put in the work.
that interaction really showed how far the both of them have come, and through maomao becoming more proactive, and jinshi becoming more patient, showing the best way they show that they love the other. doing something difficult thatâs not what theyâre used to, sacrificing or bearing embarrassment, because despite everything, itâs worth it for the person theyâre doing it for. if thatâs not love, what is?

Got the hots for you²

Summary: You're dorks, but you're in love. GN Reader, you perspective.
Note: And here, the short second part of this as well. Enjoy.
Part 1
â¤
The days following your accidental confession to Ace were... weird.
Not in a bad wayâjust different. You werenât exactly avoiding each other (Ace had made sure of that, constantly appearing wherever you were like a very persistent puppy), but there was this unspoken thing between you now. A tension neither of you quite knew how to deal with.
The crew, of course, noticed. It was impossible for them not to notice. Especially when Ace would get oddly quiet around you or when youâd catch yourself staring at him for a beat too long before hastily looking away. Marco was particularly smug about it, though he never outright said anything. He just gave you those knowing glances that made you want to throw something at him.
You werenât sure what you and Ace were now. Friends? More than friends? Something in between? You hadnât talked about it, and honestly, that felt more nerve-wracking than the actual confession.
So, naturally, you decided to ignore it.
At least until Ace cornered you. Again.
It was late. Most of the crew was either asleep or keeping watch, the deck illuminated by lanterns and the soft glow of the moon. You had been leaning against the railing, letting the sea breeze cool your face when you heard footsteps behind you.
Ace plopped down next to you, resting his arms on the railing. âYouâve been avoiding me.â
You snorted. âI literally see you every day.â
âYeah, but you avoid me while doing it,â he pointed out, turning his head toward you. âWhy?â
You hesitated. There it was againâthat thing between you. The uncertainty, the nerves. You sighed, leaning your head back. âI donât know what weâre supposed to do now.â
Ace blinked. âWhat do you mean?â
âI meanââ You groaned, rubbing your face. âAre we supposed to do something? Or just keep going like nothing happened? I donât exactly have experience with this, okay?â
Ace was quiet for a moment before he suddenly chuckled. âYou think I do?â
You turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow. âYouâve neverâŚ?â
âNot really,â he admitted, scratching the back of his head. âI mean, Iâve flirted, sure. But⌠this? Us?â He shrugged. âItâs different.â
That caught you off guard. You had always assumed Ace was smooth when it came to this stuff, but now that you thought about it, he never really talked about past relationships. The realization made something warm settle in your chest.
ââŚSo weâre both idiots, then,â you said, lips quirking up.
Ace grinned. âSeems like it.â
A comfortable silence settled between you. The ocean waves rocked against the ship, a rhythmic lull that made everything feel⌠softer. Easier.
Then Ace spoke again, quieter this time. âCan I try something?â
Your heart stuttered. ââŚDepends. What is it?â
Instead of answering, Ace shifted closer, tilting his head slightly. His gaze flickered to your lips, then back up to your eyes, giving you plenty of time to move away if you wanted.
You didnât.
He hesitated for only a second longer before leaning in, pressing his lips to yours in a kiss that was both uncertain and softâwarm, a little messy, and entirely overwhelming in the best way possible.
It wasnât perfect. Your noses bumped, and at one point, he almost knocked his forehead into yours, but when he pulled away, breath slightly uneven, he was grinning like he had just won a fight against fate itself.
You blinked at him, lips tingling. âThat wasâŚâ
Ace scratched his cheek, looking sheepish. âTerrible?â
You laughed, shaking your head. âNo. But we might need practice.â
His grin widened. âGuess that means weâll have to do it again.â
You rolled your eyes but didnât argue. Because, honestly? You were perfectly okay with that.
Ace watched you for a moment, his expression shifting, something more certain settling in his gaze. Then, before you could react, he leaned in again, this time more confidently. His hand found your cheek, his lips pressing against yours in a kiss that left no room for doubt. It was slower, deeperâlike he was memorizing the feel of you, claiming the moment for himself.
When he pulled back, you were breathless, staring up at him, and he looked⌠proud.
âI want you to be my girlfriend.â
You blinked. âWhat?â
Ace grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. âI mean, I donât want to just guess where we stand. I want it to be clear. So I can tell everyone, so I can brag about you.â His fingers brushed against yours. âBecause Iâm proud of this. Of you. Of us.â
Your heart swelled, and before you could think twice about it, you grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him in for another kiss.
âThen you better start bragging, Fire Fist.â

Jealous Talk
"I'm just confused why you keep letting all your fans think that-"
"Y/N why does it fucking matter? I'm with you!"
The heated argument had been going on for the past 30 minutes. Hamzah who just came home from filming with Martin didn't expect to find you huddled in the corner of your shared living room on the verge of tears.
You didn't want it to get like this; you just wanted him to understand how you felt. How much you hated seeing his fans ship him with Claire when you were his girlfriend.
You remembered the moment you all met, 2020 during quarantine. You never knew if Claire liked Hamzah, but you always noticed their closeness. During FreakShow4 you weren't a member, but you helped a lot behind the scenes. You had been the one to introduce the four to each other.
Somewhere down the line, you and Hamzah got together, and you've been like that for the pat 4 years, going on 5. You never made much of an appearance on slushynoobz but you had your own lifestyle channel that did really well. You were a medical student, and it was hard you for to balance it all at once, but Hamzah supported you through everything and never forced the camera on you.
You guys were inseparable, and you even moved to Canada when Hamah got deported to start your life with him. However recently you couldn't help but feel a massive feeling of jealously because Claire was always around now.
Hamzah and you had lent her the guest room, and she would constantly book a trip to Canada after you all rekindled the relationship between the group.
At first it was fun really until Clarie started to make an appearance in the videos, thanks to Hamzah. She wore matching clothes, thanks to Hamzah. She was always next to Hamzah when it was time to take a picture, thanks to Hamzah.
You couldn't handle it anymore. This all wouldn't be happening if Hamzah had told his fans he was already in a relationship with someone else, you. So now here you in a screaming match with your boyfriend begging him to clear the air
"I know that but your fanbase doesn't. I don't like to see ship after ship or edits of you guys acting like you're the only one's in the room. I hardly make an appearance on your channel and it's hard for me." Your braids still in the messy bun you threw it into after your 8-hour shift at the hospital. You were beyond tired, but your emotions had got the best of you. Your face was now red with angry, and it didn't make it better that Hamzah was staring at you without a single expression on his sorry face.
"... I'm not like you, I don't know how to ignores comments or the fan edits." Now tears were streaming down your face. "When I see those edits, it convinces me that something is really going on between you two." You clutched your scrubs in hopes you could get him to really understand you. But all you were met with was complete silence.
Your boyfriend was looking at you like you were an idiot, like you were making everything up.
"Y/n, I never thought you'd be so insecure. I don't control the thoughts of my fans, and you know how crazy my fan base is."
Your face had fallen at that point. You didn't know how Hamzah would react, but this was not what you were expecting at all. It was like someone you had never met was speaking to you. What happened to your sweet, caring boyfriend.
"You honestly need to be real, don't you think if I wanted Claire, I'd be with her. For crying out loud, you leave for hours at a time and it's just Claire and I, if we were fucking you would have no idea."
"That's exactly my point! you don't clear things up instead you both act like you don't see it. And why on earth was she wearing your sweatpants in her latest TikTok."
"Y/n get the fuck out of my face, I've been filming all night, and I can't do this jealous talk." It was like your legs at given out and your body had moved on its own. Head in hand you cried again, in the very spot he had found you.
"What about our promise?" You lifted your head back up only to be faced with Hamzah's back. "... we're supposed to never go to sleep angry."
He kept walking, you heard the bedroom door creak and then close. Leaving you in living room. How pathetic of you, you were never supposed to feel this defeated but yet-
You felt your body leaving floor and into the hands of Hamzah. "I don't want to fight, Y/n." He continued to carry you into the bedroom, closing the door behind you with the swing of his foot. Setting you down on the edge of the bed. He lowered his body onto the carpet, completely kneeling down to you.
"Y/n, you actually think I'm at cheater. You think after all these years, I'd leave you for someone I see as a sister."
"I don't love anyone other than you. I can't believe you've bottled all your emotions up until this point." His hand left his side and reached out for you. For you to accept his affection. You closed the distance between the two of you by settling yourself into his lap.
"I didn't want to make things awkward-"
"That would never happen baby, everyone in our real life knows we're dating and if I even for a second felt like Claire was flirting with me. It'd be over, I'd never speak to her again if it meant losing you."
For the second time that night you both stared into each other eyes. Nothing but silence and the heavy tension in air. He pulled your hand making your body collapse onto his. Wrapping your hands aound his body his hit his head into his corner of your next. You both fit into each other perfectly.
"I love you," you both declared at the same time. All your worries flew out the window. You had nothing to worry about.
You felt tears stream from your eyes once again but not for a different reason that night. You let your insecurities get the best of you and let yourself create a narrative or someone that would never purposely hurt you.
"Why'd you walk away? I thought for a second you really didn't care about me... about us." You felt his arms hold you closer.
"I- I couldn't bare seeing you cry." You felt a tear hit your shoulder and that told you he was crying. "I also didn't want to say more things I regret." You nodded because that's all you needed to hear.
"Now that this is settled, let's get you out of these scrubs."

Hiiii!! I love your writing and was wondering if youâre still accepting requests? If so could I have one where reader is dressed in a similar outfit to Namiâs purple Zou outfit and thereâs a big party happening and reader gets self conscious bc no ones talking to her during said party so she leaves to go back to her room that has a balcony and as sheâs staring down at the party Law comes in to see why she left so she like tells him she feels ridiculous in her outfit and it turns out that Law was jealous that other people got to see her in such an outfit because he likes her so much that he was staring people down so no one would take her attention and he confesses how he feels under the stars on the balcony? and maybe thereâs smutđ¤đ¤đ¤ You can skip this request if you want!! I know i wrote a lot đ
hello, anyone there?
Sorry for the delay in responding to your request and sort of answering your question, yes, I still accept requests, but I've been working kind of 10 hour days + responsibilities at home, which hasn't given me much time to write.
I made some small adjustments to your suggestion, I honestly hope you don't hate me.
â˘â˘â˘
my reach
info: what sensations can a pirate life bring? After a victory, a celebration can mean many things.
warnings: text not proofread, will possibly have some errors as English isn't my first language. a kittle bit angst, F!reader have some insecurities, smut, doing in open skies, a little dirty talk.
For those who haven't reached Zou, this is the reference dress.
You didn't know what was echoing louder at that moment: the drunken voices, the singing or your thoughts. It was a party, you should have been happy or at least a little confident.
After so many fights and disputes, the alliance between the pirates had finally worked out and apparently you would finally have some time of peace. What didn't need many more reasons than this for Luffy, captain of one of the allied crews, to suggest a huge banquet, a party that would probably last for days and no one would question it. The good thing about having other crews together was that the reduced number of women - in the heart pirates it was the large number of two, you and Ikkaku - increased, even if not so radically, just enough to fill the fingers of one hand.
"You really didn't like it?" Nami turned you in front of a mirror, forcing you to look at yourself once more. "It suits you so much."
"I think it looks amazing." Robin added with a simple smile. "And it's a banquet between friends, there's nothing to worry about."
"I agree, but after being so stressed with so many events, I think we deserve a more dressed-up day." Nami added, adjusting one of the straps on your dress. "And also a little alcohol, a little flirting, seriously, being a pirate can't be just that and besides there are so many different people here."
"But don't you think it's a bit much?" Your voice wavered a little and you had to dodge the pillow Ikkaku threw in your direction.
"Don't listen to her. We've been underwater for so long and in our uniforms that I think she's lost her common sense."
"Don't talk nonsense." You shot back, laughing. "Okay, a little alcohol won't hurt." About the flirting part, you don't know how safe you would feel with that.
The main deck of the ship was something almost impossible to cross. Some people walked around each other, singing songs that were almost impossible to decipher, others toasted and competed over how many mugs they could down at once. You just went with the flow, keeping up with the others' hurried steps.
It wasn't long before a drink occupied your hand and you got lost in some almost frivolous conversations. The stress you had recently experienced seemed to prevent everyone from thinking about anything more serious and, to be honest, not even you wanted to get caught up in problems at that moment.
"Ladies." Sanji's voice came across the entire space, in his hand some appetizers and you tried hard to ignore the fact that he was almost drooling. "You are the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever seen, I would write poems about you..."
In a somewhat strange juggling act, you saw him try to balance the tray in one hand and, with the other, twist to alternate between your colleague's hands, placing a kiss on each of them. Except for you, to whom he just smiled in your direction and headed in the opposite direction. Even staring at the other women present, that seemed like a common situation so you allowed yourself to ignore it.
With an almost lame excuse, your feet took you to the other side of the ship, where you could see your captain's sullen face while being disturbed by other crewmates.
"A good victory." You raised your glass, toasting first to Shachi, then Penguin and finally Law, who seemed to be immersed in something inside his own mind.
"Look, I don't think we've ever seen you so..." Shachi couldn't finish speaking before getting elbowed by his crewmate.
"Are you enjoying the party?" Law asked as soon as the two left with some excuse that you didn't try to understand what it was about.
"Yes, as much as possible."
You even thought about commenting on how you had become an outcast, even though in the hours before you had been trying hard to achieve the exact opposite result. However, for a flash, you were sure that Law was analyzing you. From top to bottom, inch by inch.
"Is there a problem, Captain?" A smile filled your lips as you saw him startled as he was pulled out of his own mind.
"Dresses. You don't usually wear them." He seemed lost in his own words. "It looks..."
Beautiful? Interesting? God, the milliseconds of waiting before Law finished speaking seemed like a small infinity of possibilities in your mind. A place where he had a certain captive vacancy, but he wouldn't even dream of it.
"It looks different." He pointed out and you could only nod.
Different. Okay, it's not the worst answer but it's far from a good one. The relationship between the captain and the subordinate of the two of you was intrinsically... different. Strangely comfortable, uncomfortably distant. He would always prefer to discuss some decisions with you and to the jealousy filled with tantrums and laughter of some, he would insist that you were the best cook of the crew. On your side, you loved ask him for tips, from books to medicines, and whenever possible, you would insist on having him stitch you up after some battles. You hated scars and he was the only one who could prevent them. It was a different relationship, he occupied a somewhat different place in you, but that didn't need to be exposed.
Apparently, if the efforts to look even minimally pretty that night didn't affect him, it wouldn't make any difference anymore. With an almost invisible smile on your lips, you just nodded and left him there. You started talking to some, laughed with others, but it didn't seem to work. From the idea of ââalcohol and flirting, apparently only the first part was working. Heavens, Brook hadn't even asked about the color of your panties.
Luckily, keeping the ships close to each other meant that it wasn't difficult for you to reach the empty deck of the Polar Tang. The sound of the party was getting a little more distant. The full moon illuminated the entire night and, in addition to reflecting on the sea, created an almost distorted shadow of your body. Was that what you were then? You let your hand run over your dress, analyzing every stitch. Nothing was out of place, nothing seemed wrong with the outfit. The problem must be you.
"I would invest a good amount of berries for your thoughts." Law's voice startled you, which made him laugh. "Did you need some time to breathe?"
"Yeah, I guess so." You leaned against the edge of the deck, drowning in your own frustrations.
"I still have some berries to invest." He tried to lighten the mood, leaning against your side. "I know my crew too well. What happened?"
"It's just... is that all there is to a pirate's life?" You turned around, frustrated. "Tonight I wanted to feel something different from all the stress we have. Something more interesting than the smell of gunpowder, than the sting of a blade."
"I think there's enough booze there for you to feel much more than that."
"It's not that, Law. Geez, I dressed in a way I've never dressed before. Makeup, heels, perfume and still, I'm an outcast." you said frustrated and saw a smirk escape his lips. "Man, this isn't funny. I mean, not even Brook cared about my panties?"
"About that..." he began, his fingers adjusting his hat that wasn't out of place, just like a nervous tic. "Maybe someone threatened to throw him into the sea before he could even speak."
"What do you mean?"
"And maybe I told Sanji that if he got close to you his balls would sink to the bottom of the sea too. And maybe I said something similar to Killer, but he's more rational so he didn't need that much of a threat. And I definitely punched Kid."
"You punched Kid?"
"He said some really disgusting things." Law spoke with a frighteningly ordinary naturalness.
However, for you none of that was ordinary. You just stood there, still, watching the little confessions that came out of Law's lips. So he had pushed you away from everyone? That wouldn't make any sense. Unless...
"Apparently I was brave enough to do all that, but I've been a coward in hiding what I feel. You don't look any different, you look beautiful and I can guarantee that I wasn't the only one who thought that."
"You just made sure I didn't know that, right?"
"Sorry." he commented still in a frustrated tone, but taking a few steps enough to stop in front of you. "I like you, I really do. It got to a point where I found myself reading more books just to know what to recommend to you, I found myself hating being a doctor because I have to stitch you up every time you get into a fight at the same time I wouldn't let anyone touch you for that." He sighed deeply. The short distance between the two of you made your fingers itch to hug him. "What you said makes sense, we're pirates, we shouldn't only feel war inside us."
"What else can we feel then?"
Your lips touched before his hands even reached your waist. It was hard to know what had given you goosebumps more: the cold wind against your bare skin, the way your body was leaning against the edge of the deck, making you imminent of falling, or the way he had advanced on you. Definitely the third option.
His tongue began to invade your space, tracing delicious routes through your mouth, a fight for space that you had no interest in winning. His hands traced your curves until they rested on your waist. Whoever invented the theory that two bodies occupied the same place would probably be a good spectator for the way the two of you snuggled together.
Law seemed to have no shortage of air since, when he gave you space to breathe, his lips simply slid to the hollow of your neck. Wet kisses mixed with small grunts that would be marked on your skin, drawn like a map just for him, just for Law.
His eyes met yours as his kisses continued towards the neckline of your dress. A loud request - but still silent - to explore you beyond where his lips could reach at that moment.
"We could go somewhere else." You suggested breathlessly and saw him bury his face in your breasts, sighing deeply. "I really don't plan on being naked here."
"Naked? Nah." Without even hesitating, he supported you on the edge of the deck, preventing you from falling towards the sea by slipping into the gap between your legs. "I've been looking at you in that dress for too long to want to see you without it now."
"You've been looking?"
"Tell me, wasn't that exactly why you put it on?" An involuntary sigh escaped your lips when one of his hands slid down the inside of your thigh. "You drive me insane normally, but this... do you want to know what I thought?"
The question was rhetorical since beyond the moonlight, lust illuminated the eyes of the man tied to you. A moan escaped your lips as his fingers trailed over the damp fabric between your legs.
"Shh, we need to be discreet, okay? Can you be a good girl and stay quiet?" His fingers intensified the pressure, small circles under the damp fabric sending your mind into a spiral. "I promise to take you inside, let you make all the noise you want. And then I'll leave you naked, have all my time just for you."
"What if I want to stay here?" The question sounded like a challenge and you could have sworn that behind the fabric of his pants something had pulsed. "You still haven't told me what you thought, about the dress."
"What I thought..." he gently pulled you down from the support and turned you back to him. Your body automatically leaned forward, seeking contact. "The first idea that came to mind was you like this, on my table. All beautiful ready for me."
His hands adjusted the fabric of your dress so that it was to the side. His nimble fingers traced an indecipherable pattern on the skin of your ass, outlining the thin fabric of your panties.
"May I..." He asked, still circling the piece and saw you nod. With a delicacy unfamiliar to you, you felt him pull the fabric aside.
"Fuck." The word came out of his lips involuntarily. The sight made him hungrier than any dish he had seen at the banquet.
"What else did you think?" You asked, hearing the sound of his zipper.
"You're smart, I believe you know very well what I thought."
Silent kisses ran down your exposed back. The cold night breeze made contact with your damp skin, causing shivers. The first touch of his cock against your pussy elicited a shy moan from you as his teeth scraped your skin, whispering a shh once more, even though thrusting inside you had forced him to press his face against the back of your neck. The almost inaudible sounds that escaped your lips were enough for Law to almost explode right there.
He should have stopped being a coward before. It was only the first time and he didn't know how he could consider staying without feeling you.
"I'm sorry." He said, moving slowly. "You deserved better than the deck of a submarine."
"We're under the stars. Do you want something even better?" You said breathlessly, stretching your hand to reach his dark strands of hair. Law practically put his head under your hand, sinking into your neck. "Law!"
"I told you princess, no noise." He thrust harder, watching you press your lips together and hold back another moan. "Such a good girl, my good girl."
"A p-princess, huh?"
"My princess, yes. All dressed up like that I couldn't think of anything better." You barely understood how he could form a coherent thought while he was thrusting torturously and deliciously inside you. "I could call it an angel too. The way this beautiful pussy is squeezing me is definitely divine." His laugh at your moan sounded almost devilish, however.
The thrusts began to intensify and you pulled his hand that was holding your torso to cover your mouth, vainly containing the moans that escaped. You could already be clawing at the stars when you felt him pulling out of you. An almost drastic fall from the sky you were in.
"I want to look at you, beautiful thing." He turned you around to face him, lifting you up again. "I want to see that beautiful face when you cum."
"Then come back here now." You locked your legs around him, feeling his delicious invasion of you.
His lips once again took yours, just as voracious - if not even more so - than the first time. His coming and going grew louder and louder as he felt your voice vibrate against his. Moans being censored by each other.
"Hold on to me." He pulled away just enough to ask and you readily complied.
The abyss was getting closer and closer, the knot in your belly getting tighter and tighter. You stuck your body to his at first for fear of falling, but each time it became even more of a need to merge. Your screams hid in the small gap between the two of you, your skin would surely be sore at the slightest since his teeth dug in there as he filled you with his seed.
"I think..." he supported you back, still holding your waist with one hand. With the other, he lifted the shirt he was wearing. Both your eyes and his were guided to where your bodies joined. "We made a bit of a mess."
"A bit?" Your finger caught some of your mixed cum, bringing it to your own lips. "Delicious mess."
"Keep it up and you won't be coming back to the party." A light laugh escaped him as he heard you grunt as he pulled out of you. "On second thought, we don't need to go back."
"Law, you're the captain of one of the crews that was more than essential to the conquest."
"Well, that's a good idea." He said as he adjusted his own clothes and then repeated the gesture with yours. "Some clueless people will be able to know that you are out of their reach."
"Am I?"
"If your captain says so, I believe you should agree." He pointed out.
Your hands comforted his cheeks, smoothing every inch you could touch. A calm, almost chaste kiss escaped you. Anyone who saw from afar would imagine it was just a simple kiss and would not even be able to consider what you were doing a short time ago.
"I - I mean, I really want to keep you out of their reach. Only within my reach." That was it, in so much time as captain and subordinate, you had never seen Law look so nervous.
"Sounds like a good plan to me, captain. However, I hope it is reciprocal." He nodded, stealing another kiss from you.
Going back to the party seemed different. As soon as Law led you back to the ship, you let go of each other's hands, a small agreement of secrecy silently negotiated between you. However, you could feel him in you, in unconventional - and delicious - ways. Occasionally, you could feel his gaze burning in your direction, with distant care.
"Can I talk to you?" Zoro's voice startled you before you even noticed his hand on your waist. "Would you like to have a drink somewhere more private?"
"I'm drinking..." You pointed to the mug in your hand, but it took you a few seconds to fully understand what he was saying. "Oh, no. I mean, thank you, but no. I'm accompanied."
"Accompanied? So your captain finally stopped being a wimp?" Zoro saw and glanced sideways, not surprised to see that whatever Robin was talking to Law about seemed like a distant subject. "Nami asked me to do this, to see if he would do something."
"Hey, swordsman." You could hear the irritation in Law's voice from afar and it was clear how unhappy he was at that moment. "Is there a problem with her?"
"No, Captain, everything's fine here." You smiled in his direction and waved at Zoro, who just ignored what Law had said and left.
"So..." You started, trying to give your best mischievous smile. Which was much easier after remembering everything. "My drink is gone and I think I'm tired. I'm thinking about going back to Polar Tang."
"Sure, I can accompany you." Law said in false modesty.
You could count on your fingers how many steps you took towards a more empty place before the starry night turned into a room you didn't usually visit. Your body soon found his bed, your dress turned into a pile of fabric on the floor. His kisses finally freed to explore every inch of your nudity.
"I think I need to make it even clearer that you're out of their reach."

Iâll request for Cora then! I donât really know what to request tho đ¤ but I love all your writing so Iâm sure Iâll love whatever you write. how about just general headcanons? thank you! â¤ď¸
âĽďžăťăcorazon general and specific headcanons
synopsis: just some headcanons for the nine-foot tall blonde of my dreams
cw: none
a/n: this was so fun to write! thanks anon for the ask. i think i'm gonna open up my inbox for headcanons on other characters like kid or law or whatever
a/n 2: stay safe and rive carefully y'all. happy new year <3

general headcanons (you both are in a relationship)
â while i've seen others view cora as an overall shy, introverted person, i actually think the opposite, at least in some cases
â granted, he's not shouting from the mountain tops or actively going out of his way to talk to others, he is very extroverted with the people he knows and trusts
â like you, queen <3
â he likes to tell jokes and use his clumsiness to make you laugh, even if it isn't on purpose most of the time
â and when you do, he feels like he's on top of the world
â he's also very protective of you
â certain things in your relationship he likes to take a back seat on, but your safety is not one of them
â he's seen some things, and he'll be damned if something happens to you because of his negligence
â in a crowded room, he'll position himself behind you, acting as a guard dog as he keeps tabs on all possible threats
â in a bar, he'll keep a watchful eye on your drink and make sure an arm is around your waist at all times
â on the sidewalk, he will always, always make sure he's on the street side
â but that ties in with him being a perfect gentleman
â that being said... YOU NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING
â actually gets offended if you try
â you're his lady; when you're with him, you don't lift a finger
â he may be on a marine's salary but when it comes to you he acts as if he has all the money in the world
â loves to splurge on you
"aw, baby, look! that necklace would look great on you, wouldn't it!"
"cora, honey, it's 90,000 berries... and you just got me a 70,000 berry bracelet last week"
"and?"
â honestly not very opinionated, doesn't really have many preferences when it comes to material things
â often has you order for him at restaurants, or pick out his clothes for the day
â hates arguing and fighting in general (though arguments are few and far between for you both anyway)
â if you don't like kids, that might be a bit of a deal breaker, seeing as law is a large part of his life
â not only that, but if you just are not a kind or decent person, this is not the man for you
â but trust, if you hit it off with law, you will have this man's heart forever (easier said than done tho)

specific headcanon (story-ish i guess)
â for the sake of whatever, let's say you're the nurse of doflamingo's crew (by circumstance, you're still a good person)
â when you first joined, cora was floored by your beauty; like actually, he fell flat on his face when doflamingo introduced you to the crew
â he was baffled that someone like you was a pirate, and even more so when you opened your mouth to reveal that you were incredibly kind and warm hearted
â (he would later learn that you had been blackmailed by his brother into joining the crewâthe warlord promised no harm would come to your family if you joined him)
â initially, he was both enamored and suspicious, seeing as only those with cruel intentions joined his brother's crew
â but as time went by, he was quick to learn that it was quite the opposite, and quick to grow a certain fondness for you
â i imagine cora as a slow burner, so of course all of this happens over a decent amount of time
â but within that time you manage to weasel your way into his heart
â being the ship's nurse, you are always tasked with patching him up after his mishaps
â even though you do slip up and let out a chuckle or two, it never comes from a place of malice, unlike the others
â and even still, you scold and warn him about being careful around fires and hot liquids
â though, most of the time, it goes in one ear and out the other
â sometimes he's too preoccupied with your soft hands on him, or your pretty eyes locked with his
â sidebar: he blushes like a school girl because of his fair skin, i'm talking full on tomato
â anyway, it isn't long before you two become incredibly close
â communicating is a bit of a hassle given his silence, but he appreciates your constant effort
â he makes a point to keep you as far away from doflamingo as possible, often sending you on "errands" to avoid the two of you from interacting
â and when he can't do that, he floats around, not straying too far away as his brother pulls you aside for a chat or asks you to check a pain on his abdomen (barf)
â that doesn't just apply for his brother, btw
â he does that for everyone on the crew, executive or not
â no one gets you on your own without him knowing about it
â on the outside looking in it might sound stalker-ish, but in his mind he justified it as performing his duty as a marine
â all he was doing was protecting a helpless... sweet-smelling... adorably-laughing... angel-looking... young woman
â but in actuality, he was protecting his dream girl
â his dream girl who absolutely loves kids! (if you don't, then, once again, cora might not be the one for you)
â you always treat baby 5 and buffalo with such kindness, even when they act like little monsters; making sure they take their baths, making sure they eat, giving them their monthly check-ups
â it's one of the many things cora loves about your personality
â as well as nurse, you play the role of nanny to the kids onboard
â and your mothering only expands when law and dellinger join the crew
â fast forward to when cora is about to take law away, he comes to you first, severely surprising you by reciting a passionate dissertation as to why you should join him
â he couldn't imagine leaving you behind in the clutches of his brother; no protection, no one to shield you from the horrors of the family
â so it was only natural that his heart fell to his ass when you declined, but your reasoning was that doflamingo still had your family hostage
â though, on one particular night, when you had happened to walk past the door to his study, you overheard him talking to the other executives about how gullible you were, as he had killed your family years ago
â distraught, you ran away with cora and law that night
â and it was bbq chicken from there...

Whiskey Eyes I Chuuya Nakahara x Reader (Part 1)
Part 1 I Part 2
Summary: Chuuya stumbles home piss-drunk in the dead of night. Safe to say, you were both in for a really long night.
A/N: Sorry for having to make this two parts, it exceeded Tumblr's character limit per post so I had to split it :/
MASTERLIST
The clock struck 2:13 AM.
You heard it before you saw himâheavy boots dragging down the hallway, a muttered curse under his breath, and the unmistakable jingle of keys fumbling at the door. You paused the movie quietly playing on your laptop and sighed, closing it with a soft click before slipping out of bed. The door creaked open just as you stepped into the kitchen. You reached into the cabinet for the painkillers. You were already bracing yourself for whatever version of him tonight had dragged home.
âChuuya?â you called gently, rounding the corner into the hallway.
No answerâjust the dull thunk of his coat hitting the floor and the slow, off-beat rhythm of boots scuffing against hardwood. A second later came a muted thud and a mumbled curse.
âWho the hell⌠put the damn wall there?â
You met him halfway down the hall.
He looked like a mess, honestlyâcopper hair tousled from the wind and too many frustrated fingers run through it, his hat dangling limply from one hand. His tie was hanging half-undone and hopelessly crooked. He smelled like expensive whiskey, smoke, and a little too much pride.
âHey, doll,â Chuuya slurred with a crooked grin, blinking up at you like he wasnât entirely sure you were real. His eyes were glassy and unfocused, cheeks flushed with more than the cold. âMiss me?â
You caught him just in time before he face-planted into the hallway rug.
âCareful,â you huffed, looping an arm around his waist to keep him upright. âYou almost kissed the carpet.â
âI didnât even see the carpet,â he mumbled into your shoulder, clinging to you like gravity itself had a personal vendetta against him.
âIâm fine,â he added, swaying like a ship in a storm. âJust got⌠yâknow⌠gravity issues. Sânot my fault the floorâs crooked.â
âThe floor isnât crooked, Chuuya. You are.â
âThatâs rude,â he said with mock offense, attempting to point at youâbut it was more of a gentle wobble in your general direction. âYâcanât insult your handsome boyfriend. Sâbad manners.â
âNo, sweetheart. Thatâs physics.â
âOhhh,â he drawled, like youâd just unlocked the mysteries of the universe. âThatâs what that is. Gravity. Sheâs a bitch.â
He shook loose from your grip with more confidence than coordinationâand promptly stumbled forward with a half-spin that sent him staggering into the kitchen.
âChuuyaâ!â
Too late. He tripped over the rug at the threshold and staggered with both arms flailing like a marionette mid-seizure before finally catching himselfâby slapping both palms dramatically onto the nearest countertop.
Which just so happened to be occupied by your toaster.
There was a beat of silence before he looked up.
Then, with all the solemn gravity of a man who believed he was making deep, meaningful eye contact, Chuuya leaned in and said, âHey there, gorgeous. You heating things up for anyone else tonight⌠or just me?â
You stared, wide-eyed, as he blinked slowly at the stainless-steel appliance like it had personally proposed.
â...Did you just hit on the toaster?â
âI tripped,â he muttered, as if that explained everything. Then, with no shame whatsoever, he whispered to the toaster, âYouâre hot. Sâa compliment. Donât tell my girlfriend.â
You pinched the bridge of your nose but couldnât keep the smile off your face. âOh my god.â
He looked affronted. âDonât be jealous. Sheâs just... shiny.â
You guided him toward the bed, half-carrying, half-dragging as he mumbled nonsense between steps.
âYou always smell nice,â he murmured, nuzzling into your shoulder as he went. âLike soap⌠and hope. And⌠maybe cookies? Did you make cookies?â
âI lit a candle.â
âOh.â
He paused for a beat. âStill think it was cookies.â
He stumbled again and looked down at his boots with suspicion. âMy boots hate me. Jealous, probably. Of my ankles. âCause theyâre perfect.â
You snorted, fighting a smile as you lowered him onto the bed and tugged his hat from his hand. His hair stuck to his forehead in wild waves. His tie looked like it had given up halfway through the night.
He groaned and leaned his head back, eyes fluttering shut before squinting back at you through heavy lids. âWhatcha doinâ, sweetheart?â he asked, slurred and slow as you knelt to unlace his boots.
âTaking care of you,â you said simply.
âArenât you just the sweetest,â he murmured, his hand brushing your hair with a trembling touch. Somehow, he seemed slightly more sober. âYâdonât have to do all this. But Iâm glad you do. Youâre soft...â
You didnât even have time to comment before he muttered, âI think I kissed a jukebox.â
You looked up. âYou what?â
âWait. No. Mightâve been a vending machine.â He frowned, struggling to recall. âShiny. Judgmental. Gave me a look.â
Nop. Still drunk.
You sighed, tugging off his boots. âYou went too far tonight, didnât you?â
He didnât answer right awayâjust looked at you with those whiskey-glazed eyes, full of something distant and heavy.
âThey wouldnât shut up,â he muttered finally. âAbout Dazai. About the past. So I reminded âem.â
âBy drinking them under the table?â
âAnd throwinâ one of âem through it,â he added proudly.Â
You exhaled sharplyâequal parts exasperated and utterly endeared before taking a seat next to him. âChuuya.â
âWhat?â he asked, suddenly innocently offended. âYouâre not mad, right? You canât be mad, I brought you something.â
You blinked. âYou did?â
He patted down his coat with exaggerated concentration, fumbling through pockets before triumphantly producing⌠a bottle cap. He held it up like it was treasure.
âTa-daaa~.â
You stared. âWow. Just what I always wanted.â
âI knew youâd love it,â he said, beaming, then leaned heavily against your side. âYouâre so warm. Like a bed. Or a⌠really fancy scarf.â
You shook your head, lips twitching. âYouâre drunk.â
âYouâre beautiful,â he replied without missing a beat, as if that settled the entire conversation.
You groaned and handed him the metal water bottle you had been drinking from when heâd stumbled in. âYouâre going to have a headache the size of Yokohama tomorrow.â
âAlready feel it coming,â he muttered, his words slurring just slightly as he tipped the water bottle to his lips, eyes fluttering closed like they were too heavy to keep open. His hand trembled slightly as he fumbled the bottle, taking a swig more out of instinct than coordination. It was a struggle for him, but he was determined to finish it, even if it meant half spilling it down the front of his shirt.
You watched him for a moment, your heart softening as he sank into the matress, his head tipping back against the headboard with a groan. You knew that sinking feeling all too wellâthe hangover was already knocking at his door, and he wasnât in any condition to deal with it just yet.
You reached over and pressed two painkillers into his hand, feeling the warmth of his fingers as they closed around them with far less precision than he usually had. âHere,â you said gently, helping him tilt his head back so he could swallow them. His eyes were still closed, his face slack with exhaustion, but he managed a weak smile as he leaned into your touch.
âThanks, sweetheart,â he mumbled, his voice muffled by the pillow beneath his cheek.Â
You hummed softly in acknowledgment, your fingers brushing the damp strands of his hair away from his forehead as you leaned in close to him. âYouâre a mess,â you teased, but it was with affection, as you worked on pulling his shirt from where it had bunched up over his stomach.
The fabric was wrinkled, and the collar had been twisted all wrong. It took far more effort than it shouldâveâhis body limp, not quite cooperating with your hands as you struggled to remove his shirt without jostling him around too much.
He let out a half-sigh, half-groan, and managed to lift his arms slightly, giving you just enough room to peel the shirt off over his head. âYouâre lucky youâre cute,â he murmured, his voice still thick with drunkenness, and you couldn't help but smile at the familiar, lazy flirtation that was now tinged with exhaustion.
âLucky, huh?â you muttered, finally managing to get the shirt off and tossing it to the floor in a heap.Â
You moved on to his tie next, giving it a gentle tug, and he made a soft, almost imperceptible sound of protest before he weakly helped you undo it. His fingers were stiff, but you guided his hands with patience, untangling the knot with ease. He let out another small groan when you finished, his head lolling to the side as he slurred, âI swear, if I wasn't so dizzy, Iâd be making it way easier on you.â
âOh, I know,â you teased back. His eyes barely opened, a sleepy, half-lidded gaze still fixated on you as you worked. It was almost sweet, the way he let you take care of him despite all his usual stubbornness. âBut we both know youâre not in any condition to be helpful right now.â
He huffed, a soft chuckle escaping him. âFine. Iâll just lay here and let you be the responsible one. I trust you with my life.â
You smiled softly as you finished peeling away the last of his rumpled work clothes, throwing them in a heap on the floor and trading his wrinkled shirt and slacks for the familiar comfort of his pajama bottoms. The task was a little more difficult than it shouldâve been, but you managed to get him settled, his clothes discarded in a haphazard pile on the floor. You tucked the blankets around him, pulling them up to his chin, ensuring he was warm and comfortable before sitting down beside him on the bed.
His hand, which had been slack at his side just moments ago, reached for yours, fingers curling around yours loosely in a gesture that felt almost childlike in its simplicity. His grip was weak but steady, and you could feel the warmth of his hand as he settled into the bed, his eyes barely open but focused on you as if trying to stay present.
âGet some sleep, hun,â you whispered, brushing your thumb over his knuckles. âIâm not going anywhere.â
He didnât respond immediatelyâhis chest rising and falling steadily as he drifted off. But just before he succumbed to the pull of sleep entirely, he murmured, âI love you.â
You pressed a soft kiss to his hand, holding it a little tighter. âI love you too, you idiot. Get some rest.â
And with that, he was out like a light, his breath soft and even, the gentle rise and fall of his chest a steady rhythm in the quiet room.

Here we are at the end of Andor. And my opinion of it is pretty simple. I think the show is really good at talking about the politics of fascism and insurrection.
Where this season excels is in the big moments and the political speeches. It's things like the Ghorman Massacre or Luthen teaching Kleya how to be an operative. It's moments like Mon Mothma's speech to the Senate, where she addresses the Senate and says, "Donald Trump is plunging this country into a fascistic hellscape while FOX News erodes the very concept of an objective reality. You, the person sitting here watching Star Wars: Andor, you have to be responsible for pushing back against this."
The show has a lot to say, and what it has to say is extremely relevant to this moment in history. It is a very good at being a powerful political manifesto that wears its themes on its sleeve.
What it's not so good at is... doing things with the characters it has. Holy shit, do I need to vent because when the show wasn't giving political screeds that I like and agree with, it was such a fucking mess.
Here, at the end of the line, I feel confident saying that they have utterly failed to make Cassian seem like the character from Rogue One. The show is too enchanted by that moment when he decided to defy orders and follow his heart, which was supposed to be a moment of character development.
But they've backwritten it into the show as his defining character trait. The Cassian of Andor is a loose canon who undermines everyone all the time. He hates the Rebel Alliance and is only here because his girlfriend dumped him, and all he does is play cards with his buddies, steal ships, and get in arguments over whether or not Tony Gilroy's OC is the greatest character ever introduced to Star Wars.
He has two separate arguments about that. It's crazy how much the last three episodes are just about what an amazing character Luthen was. Like, the parts with Luthen and Kleya's backstory were actually really good but then the next two episodes just will not stop talking about how Luthen is a Great Man of History, singularly responsible for the very existence of the Rebel Alliance.
Everything good that ever happened in the Star Wars Trilogy, they owe it all to Luthen Thunderdick who descended from on high and made the Empire tremble with his mighty footsteps. It was all him and nobody else. For decades, he was the guy, and there was nothing he couldn't do. Except kill himself effectively.
At the same time that the show can't shut up about how great Luthen is, I was genuinely stunned that Luthen's big confrontation with Dedra consisted of him passively slitting his own gut and hoping for the best. Luthen really struck me as a "Killing myself in a giant explosion to try and take you with me" sort of character, but apparently the big 'out' he had decades to plan for himself was to just quietly die in front of Dedra and hope the Empire will let him.
Cassian and Bail later talk about how Bail being a "Go down swinging" sort of guy makes him like Luthen. And. Like. Yeah, I would have thought Luthen would go down swinging too. So weird that he didn't.
Honestly, it would have been fine if Dedra was killed like that, too. Because the show had nothing else for her to do. She was just sort of fired from the plot right after that. This is another place where the politics are strong but the character work sucks.
Dedra's ultimate comeuppance for everything she's done this season comes in the form of Lonni stealing her access codes offscreen somehow. That's it. That is what undoes her. At some point between episodes 9 and 10, Lonni somehow acquired the ability to access her files. We never saw it happen, only heard him talk about it to Luthen afterward, but that offscreen occurrence so minor that it wasn't worth showing is the moment that seals Dedra's fate.
Dedra going to the prison from season 1 is a strong political point about the way the cruel and unforgiving systems of fascism will devour and destroy their own without hesitation or remorse. She is ultimately crushed under the very machine she worked so hard to help build.
But as a final resolution for arguably the central antagonist of the entire series, it has the same energy as if she were just suddenly dragged away by mountain lions. A bad thing happens to her because the show is over but it doesn't really connect to anything the principal characters are actively doing.
Luthen should have just blown them both up and saved us all a lot of screentime that could have been spent writing a satisfying conclusion to the character journeys we've been following.
I also found it unsatisfying when Syril, horrified by what he's contributed to, exited out into the crowd of Ghormans during the massacre... Only to suddenly spot Cassian and suddenly just turn into a Physical Threat Boss Fight. A violent orc who overpowers Cassian with his incredible accountant might.
But at least they had the Ghorman dad be the one who shot him. Dedra didn't even get that much. She was just dragged away by mountain lions because Lonni did things offscreen between episodes.
It's kind of amazing how this show is supposed to be the prequel for Cassian Andor, a ruthless killer first introduced executing his own informant for the "greater good" of the Alliance, and the most involved he is with the ultimate fate of any of the show's antagonists is getting his ass beaten down by Syril Karn just before someone else shoots him.
Cinta Kaz is the character most poorly served, of course. They brought her back just so they could bury the gays and, by Tony Gilroy's admission, give her girlfriend Vel some emotional baggage. Vel then does not do anything for the rest of the show. That's basically where her character ends.
Bix also got hit pretty hard. Allegedly, she does missions for Luthen and then is dedicated to the Rebel Alliance. She's in it for the cause. But she only gets to go on one mission and that's to get direct revenge on the guy who traumatized her. Apart from that, all she does onscreen is mope around about Cassian and then dump him because a random Force seer told her that he needs to be single for Rogue One.
Literally wrote a fucking psychic into the show to walk up to her and go, "Whoooo the Force tells me that Cassian has a GLORIOUS DESTINY that you can watch on Disney Plus, and you aren't part of it. Get out of here before they fridge you, girl!"
I'm not even going to touch that final scene of her with a ten-foot-pole. I will say that it's kind of gross that she "chooses the Rebel Alliance over Cassian" not by dedicating herself to the cause but by dedicating him to the cause while she retires to go raise his kid. It's kind of gross that they wrote "choosing the Alliance over Cassian" to mean that.
Not like the Rebel Alliance themselves are good for anything. Disney's been assassinating the Rebels for years due to a fondness for renegade protagonists screaming "SCREW YOU, MOM, I'M DOING WHAT'S RIGHT!!!"
Star Wars: Rebels depicts the Alliance fingerwagging at the Ghost crew and telling them, "DO NOT go try to liberate Lothal! Liberating worlds from Imperial control is NOT what the Rebel Alliance is about!" But then the Ghost crew do it anyway because fuck those useless cowards.
Rogue One depicts the Alliance fingerwagging at Jyn Erso and telling her, "DO NOT go try to steal the Death Star plans! Resisting the Empire is NOT what the Rebel Alliance is about!" But then the Rogue One crew do it anyway and drag those useless cowards reluctantly into helping.
With that in mind, Andor is at least consistent when it has Rebel leadership making a big stink about how Luthen sucked and the Death Star intel is wrong and we should just shove our thumbs up our asses and do nothing.
Until Draven realizes that the plot of Rogue One has to start somehow so he does a complete 180 and gives Cassian an important mission, even though they all hate Cassian for being a loose canon renegade who doesn't play by the rules.
Disney just does not like the Rebel Alliance as an organized resistance movement.
Oh, and let's talk about Wilmon. Wilmon gets an amazing moment in episode 6 when Saw Gerrera radicalizes him to the cause. Again showing the political strengths of the show, Saw gets to deliver an amazing speech about how you have to be a little crazy to be a revolutionary, and it gets Wilmon so fired up he exposes himself to gases to join Saw in the madness. He is IN IT now, ready to GET CRAZY AND DO SOMETHING.
The rest of Wilmon's story for the season is that he gets a girlfriend. She seems nice.
That's it. Wilmon's done. Nothing more for Wilmon to do.
Kleya, a character who gets to eat so well in episode 10, then suddenly gets written bewilderingly in 11. She sends out a signal for evacuation because she has vital intel she had to endanger in order to make up for Luthen's random bout of incompetence. Then, when evac arrives, she inexplicably starts an argument with Cassian over whether Luthen is the greatest character ever to grace the face of Star Wars and refuses to be evacuated.
Fortunately, she wastes so much time that the Imperials show up and knock her out with a stun grenade, which also hits Cassian but he shrugs it off with his raw manliness. This allows Cassian and K-2S0 to have a kickass fight scene and then drag Kleya to evac before she can wake up and start weirdly resisting again.
K-2SO's really just here to make witty banter (which he succeeds at) and to have a fight scene where he storms the safehouse to rescue Cassian from Kleya's random bout of stupidity. I honestly don't know which is my favorite bit of choreography.
One Imperial raises a gun at the identifiably hostile droid but doesn't pull the trigger while K advances into grappling range and kills him. The other Imperial, watching this, raises his gun and doesn't pull the trigger until K advances into grappling range and kills him too.
K-2SO, famously killed by blaster fire, slowly advances into grappling range on a guy who shoots him in the chest. The blaster shots glance harmlessly off of K-2SO's invulnerable chassis.
K then uses that guy as a human shield to block enemy blaster bolts, even though it was just established that he's invulnerable to them. So I guess that part was just for shits and giggles.
Either way, at least K did get to be funny. I do feel like this is the same character from Rogue One. So there's that, at least.
But overall... yeah. Andor makes for a really good manifesto that really captures the moment in history in which we are living in, but is not very good at telling a story.

Hi could you pretty please do velvette x reader who is Carmilla youngest daughter and how her family reacts (plus zestial pls I ship him and Carmilla so I feel like he's a step dad)â¤ď¸
A/N: I blacked out and wrote this.... but yeeees LISTEN!! I love Velvette so much, its not even funny and i had a lot of fun with this prompt! I didn't realize how much i wrote for it until it was too late, and by that point, i really couldn't stop. but I hope you enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it! ps i honestly ship them too
Part 1 | Part 2
Character: Velvette
Type: Headcanons + Drabble (Velvette x reader who's Carmilla's youngest daughter, General with a bit of Angst and Fluff sprinkled in)
For Velvette, she actually entered into the relationship not really knowing who your parents were. You never brought it up and she never really asked. It didn't really matter to her, since, ya know, you're the one she's dating, not your mum and dad, or step-dad from what you've mentioned.
Honestly, she should've seen the similarities. They were there for sure, but let's face it, there are so many demons in hell that it was probably just a coincidence, right?
Carmilla also knew you were seeing someone as well, though she really figured that you would bring this special demon around when you were ready.
Oh, they were both wrong. So very wrong.
They found out simultaneously, of course, as cliche as it was. You were on an evening out with Velvette with no clear destination in mind, just simply enjoying the evening and each other's company when the next thing you knew you were face to face with your mother.
It... didn't go too well.
What had once been a peaceful evening nearly dissolved into a turf war all in an instant. If you hadn't been able to separate the two with a promise to talk to both separately later there was no doubt that everything in a three-block radius would be collateral.
Zestial and your sisters would find out soon thereafter, Carmilla of course telling them when they see her come home looking quite distraught.
As stated before, to Velvette, it really didn't matter. though it did sweeten the deal. It would give her plenty more opportunities for her to provoke the arms dealer, something that she already took a great deal of pleasure in.
Zestial would be skeptical of the relationship at the start but eventually comes to accept it fully. His patience won out this time. He's seen more than enough relationships like this go up in flames and he'd never want that for you. He considered you a daughter after all.
As for your sisters, both of them were simply happy that you were happy. They were more worried about how y'alls mom would react. And you can't tell me that they didn't already know, either.
Carmilla on the other hand... To her, family is everything. I mean, she killed an angel for you and your sisters. She'd do anything for her kids, and that includes keeping someone like that upstart from breaking your heart. She wholeheartedly believed that Velvette was only dating you to get one over on her. It really comes as no surprise when she goes all the way to Vee Tower to confront the youngest overlord herself.
"You need to stay away from my daughter."
The fashionista bit out a curse as a needle pricked her finger. Velvette doesn't usually startle easily, but shit, between her being completely focused on finishing and the fact that her workshop had previously been silent save for any sounds that she had been making herself, she thought that even the most stone-cold bitch would've jumped.
What good was the security for if those nitwits couldn't keep unauthorized demons out of her workshop? The influencer swore that if any blood got on the material for this dress she'd personally kill the guards and whoever-
Oh.
Of all the people she expected to see, Carmilla Carmine, the uptight weapons dealer, and apparent mum of her girlfriend, was not one of them. Or actually, scratch that. She was completely expecting this to happen sooner or later.
"Well, it sucks to suck then, wrinkles, I'm not going nowhere." The fashionista bit back, a smirk settling on her lips that quickly fell when the older woman tried to push her point.
"I know what you're trying to do and it-"
"Obviously you don't." All mischief gone from her tone, Velvette set her work to the side, careful not to crumple the fabric. She rose to her feet and began to cross the room to Carmilla, who in turn stood taller, determined not to let this miscreant make a mockery of her, her family, and most importantly her youngest daughter. "I hate to break it to you, but the only way I'll break it off is if SHE wants to."
Velvette paused, her eyes boring into Carmilla's with a conviction and passion that the arms dealer hadn't felt from the influencer before. When the younger woman spoke again, her voice was softer than before, laced with a sincerity that would leave the mother speechless.
"I love her."
Its this singular interaction that leads to a truce between the two (technically five if you include Zestial and the Vee's) Overlords. They would come to some sort of mutual understanding that if both of them were to be in your life, they'd have to play nice. At least in front of you. At Overlord meetings, well, that's a whole different story.

It makes me really upset that Kirishima and Bakugou's friendship wasn't highlighted too much after season 4 or the shie hassakai arc. And I don't even mean this in a shipping sense. Kirishima was a HUGE part of Bakugou's character development even if it wasn't shown that way.

At first, Kirishima is introduced as one of the only people who can handle Bakugou and all his intensity- as well as his explosive (haha get it) personality. This is showcased more clearly in the sports festival arc.

Kirishima offers to be Bakugou's horse, because he's the only one that can handle his explosions with his hardening (which is probably the only quirk in 1-A that really effectively deflect Bakugou's explosions, so nobody else could really be in that position other than Kirishima.) Also, he without hesitation called Bakugou a dumbass and told him to remember his fucking name, even after seeing how angry he can get when provoked. And this isn't even the last time Kirishima does this. So Kirishima becomes someone who can handle Bakugou, but their friendship doesn't end there.
Most this development probably happened off-screen, but overtime Bakugou started to see Kirishima as an equal. Not just someone who could handle Bakugou and put up with him, but as someone who is able to stand by his side unwavering while also understanding his perspective to some extent (which I assume is rare for Bakugou, considering most other's view of him is either "what a jackass" or "wow he's so cool").

Which is why I really love this scene they added in the anime, which shows that Kirishima understands Bakugou, even if he seems like just an arrogant asshole. I think the only other character who understands Bakugou on that level is Deku (and of course his classmates learn to understand later on, but I'm talking about early on).
Kirishima was arguably the first person who Bakugou saw as an equal. Something I noticed about early Bakugou is that he either had a superiority complex or a inferiority complex with someone, and there was really no in between lol. That was, until Kirishima. Who came in as someone who neither above or below him. While Kirishima doesn't take any of Bakugou's shit, he also doesn't treat Bakugou like just a jerk.
This is of course, showcased best in the iconic Bakugou rescue scene.

This scene was honestly just such a good show of their bond, and how Bakugou sees Kirishima. Because as Deku pointed out, Bakugou wouldn't have taken anyone else's hand. We know this for a fact, as this was the same man who would've rather been kidnapped by villains then accept Deku's help-

So yeah. I fully believe if it was anyone other than Kirishima to reach out a hand to him, he would've straight up ignored them and would've tried to fight the villains himself. (Death is one thing but his ego is another apparently-).
It would be ignorant of me to say that Kirishima was the only one who understood Bakugou, because that's just not the case. Because as we saw multiple times throughout the series, Deku (as previously stated) understands Bakugou very well from the very beginning. However, while this opens up the gateway for a reconciliation with Bakugou in the future, Bakugou's complex feelings about Deku make it impossible for them to form a relationship based on that. Kirishima came in as a breath of fresh air, in which there was no lingering resentment or complexity involved. And of course, later in the series, we see the other members of class A understand Bakugou on that level as well. But in the beginning at least, Kirishima was the only person he could sort build that bridge of understanding with.
And even if it's never stated explicitly, I truly believe Bakugou wouldn't have opened up to relationships with his other classmates if it weren't for Kirishima befriending him. Or at the very least, it would've taken him a lot longer.
And the we have to take into accountability of how much their friendship has helped KIRISHIMA develop as a a character. As we can see, from the very beginning, Kirishima has a bad habit of comparing his quirk to the others of their class.

This isn't his fault necessarily, as in their society it's probably drilled into your head from a young age that you can only be a good hero if you have a flashy quirk.
And because of this, rather than looking at his own strength, he pays a lot of attention to how he compares to others.

So clearly, he's hard on himself and has a lot of self-esteem issues. (I am him. He is me-)
And it's clear he looks up to Bakugou a lot from just...Bakugou being Bakugou. Bakugou's a very forward person who jumps in without thinking (for better or worse), which is almost everything Kirishima wants to be. I honestly think that might've been- at least partially- what drew Kirishima to Bakugou. He wanted to be more like him, even if he wouldn't admit to himself. He, in a way, was putting Bakugou on a pedestal, even if he didn't realize that Bakugou sees him as an equal.
But then, Bakugou tells him this:

Which in the end, pushes Kirishima to reach his full potential, which came in form of unbreakable. Bakugou, who was originally someone he looked up to and admired, eventually became his motivation. His drive, even. And it wasn't just Bakugou, obviously, but Bakugou still contributed a lot.
And after all this, their friendship gets pushed to the side so we can focus on Bakugou and Deku's reconciliation. Which isn't bad! I love Bakugou and Deku's friendship as well! And I will say it holds a lot more importance to the plot of the story, and it wasn't necessarily a requirement to have Bakugou and Kirishima's relationship showcased more.
But still, I feel as though one could assume that once Bakugou got his character development from Kirishima, he didn't need anymore. Like he was just a stepping stone in order to reach his redemption with Deku. Which is just a sad way to look at their relationship :( and I truthfully believe that that just isn't the case. We did get a few crumbs, but even then we never got to see them talk one-one as friends after a while.
This isn't supposed to be Kiribaku propaganda or anything like that, and some of this will probably fall into headcanon territory and is just my interpretation of their characters. This also isn't me saying that their relationship is more important than Bakugou and Deku's, or Kirishima and Mina's, this is just more of a vent on how I would've liked to see more of their friendship.
Edit: just wanted to put this here as well
